HOW TO STRETCH MINI TWISTS ON NATURAL HAIR

- Hey guys! In this video I am going to be showing you guys how I stretch my mini twists. Mini twists are such a great go-to protective style because they're so cute and because the hair is twisted up, it helps to lock in that moisture a little longer. Even when the mini twists are starting to get dry, there are easy ways to refresh them and then go about your day! When it comes to this video, the plan was to first upload me installing the mini twists, and then stretching my mini twists would have been the next video. But, long story short, some things were happening this week and it just didn't work out! Whenever I install mini twists again I will obviously try to film that for you guys! #howtostretchminitwists

I love that she got straight into it
☺️☺️ thanks for watching!!
This is exactly what I did!!!! I plan on wearing my natural hair more often, so I put my hair in mini twists and plan on keeping them in for a month or two. Twists are the best for hair growth when it comes to my hair type (4c)! Great video 💕
yesss i’ve been itching to install some in my hair again! they’re just such a great protective style and so cute! 😍 and thank you!! 🤍
My twists are thin 😫 I have fine hair but it looks so thick when worn in Afro 🙈 nice idea on stretching them
yeah if your twists come out thin i would def be more intentional about how you stretch them. so basically i would make sure not to overstretch your twists and maybe use bigger sections of twists. if you overstretch it could end up making your twists look more thin so just keep that in mind if you try this :)
Same 😢
I have the same exact pronlem
Same 😭
Oh my goodness same... I feel like I can only wear a natural afro to look like I have some hair and volume
Thank you for this video. I needed it... I may make peace with mini twists now. I will try to stretch with thread
great! let me know how it works out! 🙂
I know
I will try this and I love how you actually just go straight into demonstration.
yesss! let me know how it goes! 😁
This was soo helpful!! I might not do my twist-outs now😏 thank you soo much for sharing this too!!
I’m so glad it helped!!! 😁😊
Thank you so much you solved the problem I was dealing with for so many years.
Sure I subscribe 👌🏻👍🏽
no problem, I’m glad to hear it!!!! thanks for watching!! ☺️
Did twists on my hair for the first time in a year tonight and was a little disappointed with the length... I'm trying this and I'll just sleep with my hair banded for tonight. Thanks for the tutorial!
Also, you are gorgeous 😍
yeah your hair should def have a good stretch! overnight is always better in my opinion if you’re able to still sleep comfortably. but no problem thanks for watching and aw thank you!! 🥰🤍
@@ImaniSamone_ I did it overnight and it looks so much better now! Thank you again - this was SO helpful 😊 You've gained a new subscriber 🤩💜
ahhhh i’m so glad!!! i’m so happy this helped and thank you much!!! 🤍🤍😊

no problem! 🥹🤍
LOVE mini twists. I haven't tried banding before on them really but i love these results!! I'll have to give this a try 😍
thank you!!! banding is where it’s at! I think when i first started doing it it took a couple tries to find the best way to get a maximized stretch but once you find the right way to do it it’s amazing the stretch you can get 👏🏾 thanks for watching 😊
You're my FIRST TWIST QUEEN!!! CAN'T DO SMILING.😉😉😉
I would love a mini twist style video and I stretch my hair constantly lol just seeing where it was at
yeah it’s crazy how big a difference stretching your hair can make. and I may do a mini twist hairstyle video the next time I do twists! 🤔😊
I just twisted my hair that shine and jam so this video is right on time cuz I’m growing out a related so this looks like it might be just what I need!
that’s what i like to hearrrr 👏🏾🤭

❤️❤️this video can’t wait to try this out
thank you so much for watching!! 🤍 and let me know how it turns out!! 😁😁
Great tutorial
thank you i’m glad it was helpful!! 😁
thank you, I didn't want to use a blow dryer to stretch my hair because I was afraid of heat damage.
i’m glad i could show you another alternative!! 😊😊 when i stretch my loose hair like in a wash n go i do use heat but i don’t think it will necessarily cause heat damage but it could dry out the hair if you’re not careful with technique and don’t have enough moisture in the hair.
Thanks it helps a lot
i’m so glad it helped!! 😁😁
Genius
😊😊
My hair so fine, and it don't look think. I wear mini braids. Just learning this stretch technique
the good thing about braids is that it naturally gives more of a stretch than twists! but yes let me know how it turns out when you do this on your mini braids! 😊
@@ImaniSamone_ I'm on week 3
awesome tutorial. im gonna try this method bc lord knows i dont wanna put heat on my hair to stretch it. i was initally going to stretch it first before installing, but i like this method more bc ill do my twists, maybe wear them shorter/shrunken for a bit and then stretch them for the linger look. very beautiful style.
also we have the same name hehe :) #twinnemm lol
yesss sounds like a plan! cause the short twist look can def be a vibe 💁🏾♀️ thank you so much for watching and okayyyy come on name twin!! 🤪
@@ImaniSamone_ periodt 🤪 butyess the short twists def are a vibe! youre very welcome, thanks for sharing!! ❤️☺️
Thank you sooo much for this video ❤❤❤❤
of courseeee 🤍
My hair doesn’t even come to my shoulders 😭😭 sometimes I wish I didn’t relax my hair, like ever or I’m sure it’d be a lot longer.
how long have you been relaxed? you might need to start reconsidering your hair regimen to see if you can combat any breakage you might be getting
@@ImaniSamone_ I’ve stopped relaxing my hair i think about a year ago. Thing is, I’m not sure how to form a regimen but I’m still trying around.
oh ok gotcha! yeah definitely keep trying! I got my hair dyed a few months ago and I’m definitely having to switch my regimen around some. it’s like starting a new natural hair journey so it’s a bit frustrating but once you find what works for you it’s worth it when you see your hair flourishing 🥲😁
@@ImaniSamone_ Whew it is frustrating , but yeah it is truly worth it. Thank you!
no problem! 😊😊
How long does it take it to get this long? Mine aren't even past my neck yet
when this video was filmed, i had been growing out my hair for about 4 years after getting my hair big chopped to somewhere above shoulder length (straightened)
I want to do a vid like that on my channel but I'm not sure
Thanks for this. I'm definitely subscribing. And you are very beautiful hey
thank you! and i’m glad you found it helpful 😊
I would stretch and blow dry for 30 mins or hour if hair is thick
Can I do it with rubberband?
I personally wouldn’t use rubber bands to be honest. If you don’t have satin hair scrunchies, any type of other hair tie should be fine (but of course try to stay away from the ones with the metal band)
Hi! Can i let the banding overnight, or would it be disadvantageous for the hair? 😊
You can, in fact I think it’s ideal for this style tbh. When I wanna stretch my twists I do them before bed then take them out before I leave home for the day
hi! yes, you definitely can! i honestly prefer it. in my opinion, it gives the optimal stretch because at that point your hair would have been banded for more than enough time! if you really didn’t want to/if it’s uncomfortable, ultimately the idea is that it dries completely bc that ensures that the hair would’ve had enough time to mold into that stretched state. so as long as you at least do that, you should be good!
@@ImaniSamone_thank you SO much! 🌺☺️
@@aamateur-artist thank you for sharing! 😊
@tastehisgoodness no problem! 🥰
Can you use rubber bands?
ehhhh i wouldn’t recommend it because it wouldn’t be the easiest or safest thing when it comes to having to take them back out, and honestly i think it’d be a hassle putting them on the hair too
can i do this and sleep with it in like this?
you definitely can! I try not to sleep when banding just because it can be uncomfortable for me but I know that’s not the case with everyone so definitely try it out!
4c?
I would consider most of my hair 4a/4b, but I have small sections right above my ears on both sides that are like 4b/4c
Can rubber bands be used instead
ehhh I wouldn’t use rubber bands. for one you can risk them getting caught in the hair, but also it just would be a lot harder to use for stretching. the elasticity of hair ties/scrunchies are just more effective overall. I have some linked in the description box that you could get!
whenever i stretch my mini twists they become wavy, is there a way to prevent that? my hair be dry too
honestly the same thing happens to me even when I stretch a wash n go sometimes. I think there’s been some times where it does and some times doesn’t do it but over time the waves may drop some. if i had to guess maybe slightly less water could help with that, and then just not tying the bands too tight and just using more throughout the length of your hair instead
@@ImaniSamone_ okay tysm ! i’ll try that next time
@tifaswrld no prob :)
You are beautiful ❤
thank you so much!! 😊😊
