The actual swirls on the Groovy G big gold are way more accurate to the crumrine engraving style than the luxe. I can see people having their own preference but for anyone who is a fan of the all gold cast copy, I’d go with Groovy G.
Btw congrats on the CS and the Millican cast copy. I remember watching your videos circa 2011/2012 when the TH-cam belt community was growing.
Sheesh them titles us beautiful! I prefer the original belt flair was wearing and the wcw verison because of the loose leather! Wwe version was ok but it wasnt the same
The Luxe Big Gold Belt has been growing on me since last year. It's not only the best belt but it stands out then the other Big Gold.

@@kingJshawn thank you, and also notice how the golden globe on the main plate of the Luxe Big Gold is not domed compared to the Groovy G and the standard Fandu Big Gold Belts. It's nice & heavy and the plates are much bigger.

Great review! Classic Shields: I love the plates but the silver doesn't pop like silver on the Fandu Luxe, so from a distance, it almost looks like it's all gold. The brown color of the CS is dope and better than the FL. If I had the money and patience, I'd definitely cop one of those because it's the most accurate out of the 3... Fandu Luxe: I own a duel plated version with the Ric Flair plate and I absolutely love it! Only thing I have an issue with is the strap's stitching, color and... well,... probably the whole strap itself. Haha. The FL is great but I'd like to eventually send it off to Paul Martin for a full releather because it deserves better. Regardless, for the price and quality, the FL can't be beat... Groovy G: I like the look of it but I'd probably take an all gold Fandu Luxe instead. It's a 6 but a releather could take it up to a 9... Classic Shields 2D: I've kinda never really been a fan of any of the all gold Big Gold Belts because I remember the first time seeing Ric Flair with the original back in 1986. And if it ain't dual plated... But credit where credit is due: that belt is a star, man! I love it!
I actually dont have a beef about the strap FL strap. Its not the greatest but its definitely decent enough for me not to get it releathered. Paul does some great work though and look forward to seeing it in hand one day. I wonder what his current wait time is 🤔... I've always dealt with Romeo Anderson personally. Considering his pricing and wait time alone is an additional bonus to his quality and craftsmanship. His current turnaround is only around and month and cost $120-$150. No one is touching that time or cost. Ilike the groovy BG but Im one of those cats that feel like weight should go with a title belt to give it that real champions experience. If the leather is doodoo, then i cant see how those lightweight plates are worth $600. Perhaps $300-$400 range and that loosening the tie 👔 CS is just running the yard right now. Point blank period 🤚🏾🫳🏾🎤😄

Classic shields is a damn beauty. You can throw the rest away. I wouldn't have bothered. The craftsmanship on that belt is just top notch

I kinda like the GroovyG a bit more beacuse the plates over all thickness is a bit more reminicent of the all gold cast copies used in the later days of wcw, I did have an All Gold Luxe not long ago actually but I let it go to a fellow Belt Collecter that was looking for one because I wasn't all that happy with it.
Don't get me wrong, the details of the plates are magnificent.. Although I'd say the artwork of groovy's is more accurate to the afx, the overall experience of holding a championship isn't there for me. Some ppl don't think weight matters but it's apart of the experience. It doesn't have to be a 15lb belt, but should feel realistic like you've actually won a prize. That 4lbs kinda felt like a toy commemorative with detailed plates. My releatherer is adding weights to mine so I'm sure my perspective will change when I get it back.

If Fandu can make the gold stand out a little more over the silver it would be a no brainer for anyone not willing to wait/pay for a CS
You just sold me on getting that Fandu Luxe.
Out of the replicas, the Luxe wins by a longshot. Neither one has the correct texturing, but the nugget style texture on the Luxe is so much better than just the zigzag pattern on the Groovy G. The only advantage of the Groovy G belt over the Crumrine is the fact they used the correct font for Ric Flair's nameplate. If people want an all gold BG to remind them of the cast copy, just go for the gold Luxe.

- Leather sucks. Which we all knew the strap wasnt that good.

- The Fandu Luxe (plates and leather) looks better to me.
You got it! Also, I should of mentioned what price is on them and asked the viewers their opinions if they're good with paying $650 for some light plates that aren't really zinc. Idk Hammer... as a fellow belt collector, I don't think you'd be satisfied with what I had in hand. Hopefully this releather job changes my perspective.
Classic sheilds of the 3. Not taking anything away from the other 2. Classic sheilds does a good job of making the silver areas more subtle
After watching many vids, the Fandu seems to be like a "flashy" version of a belt. Its not really that accurate. So for anyone who wants a flash of a replica and dont care for accuracy, Fandu is the way. Personally ive heard good things about Groovy G, once you get a real strap it comes together really. I dont think they should even ship it w a strap, when its THAT bad LOL. But GG belts look better than Fandu for sure.
CS, well, amazing work. But you pay a FK load, to have a belt sit on a shelf? tough pill to swallow TBH.
I think CS is definitely the better look for the Big Gold. I think people should stop calling the Big Gold "Crumrine" when the artwork isn't accurate to it. If you recall, the Crumrine was actually real silver. WCW or Jim Crockett Promotions decided to gold plate the belt, which ruined it in my opinion. Maybe they thought it looked better on TV as an all-gold belt. I prefer the silver or dual plating like the Fandu. When Flair debuted the Big Gold, it was silver, and I'd prefer that version than any all-gold Big Gold.

I just got mine in the mail a few days ago and feel the same way about some points you mentioned especially getting it releathered. I was really surprised at how light it was as well when I held it.

Agreed. The plates have inaccuracies that drive me nuts. Otherwise, yeah…it does have great depth and detail but considering the strap I’d top out at $450

Just because a belt is handmade, doesn’t always meant it’s better, or more accurate. ✅
I believe what makes a title belt better is determined by the materials used, quality produced, and artwork/details... CS uses the same if not better tools than the titles you see on tv. Although luxe and G are decent replicas, they're not touching CS by a loooonnnnggg shot buddy.

Hey bro, I just started to look into this. Is classic shields the best? I noticed that they have a lot of different versions of this belt, which one is the best to go with?
I have the Premium it's currently with Omar getting leather and i have the Fandu Luxe all gold, which I've had releathered by Miles at Immortal Leathercraft. he finished it in the AFX gold cast version with the black strap. I love them both. The Premium just is unmatched, Save for the original. Having said that C4 Championship belts have done a great job with theirs, They used old school silver smithing techniques to create theirs and it looks ridiculous.
And whats is your opinion of the big gold detail and leafher included for less than 1000 buckswhich version isbest

I agree with you on the plates, to me it feels more like acrylic than metal. First feeling I got when I picked it up was it felt more like a toy than a belt. Its grown on me though.

Luxe wins over Groovy G. But the difference between Fandu and Classic Shields is clear: Fandu looks painted, and CS looks plated.

Which is your favorite? I'm looking into ordering a fandu luxe right now. Looks to be the best out there for the price. Would like your obviously expert opinion, being serious when saying that, you've got them all!
I personally like the Premium C.S. but she is on the pricier side, next I'd say I like the Fandu next bc of the details it possesses and weight with the doable leather, then the groovy has a decent amount of detail on plates however, you'll def. need a releather and the plates are really light at 4lbs. It's personal preference though. Weight plays a part to me and details are undeniably a contributing factor. Hope this helps bro!

The nickle / silver background on the Luxe is way too pronounced for me. Dear god, why would Groovy G even bother selling leather like that, would hope plates only would be an option. Groovy G plates sound like pot metal aka bubble gum machine jewelry metal. CS seems to be the best way to go for now, but even they have art / design flaws.

@@chofit6922 not at all... you can't even tell. It added roughly 2 pounds. That 4 pounds made it feel like a toy especially when it had that stock strap.
The plates seem fine if you are just looking to have a better quality replica than say WWE shop. But yeah that leather.....should have just sent out plates for a bit cheaper of the price

Some releatherers are backed up for months and most of their cost are inflated in my opinion besides Romeo Anderson. He's reasonable in price and wait time is only a month. Which belts are you referring to? I have a lot of handmade authentic belts and replicas in my collection. A lot of what you saw in this video are handmades as most of my replicas are in a corner.
