Its getting more and more confusing with Dior with the years and the name original. Why dont just follow Guerlain ie edp, extreme, intense, privy, dresscode, parfum.... Ditching a masterpiece most probably due to sales is because they are not available in most countries 🙄
What a difficult decision must be to be offered the helm of Dior and have to play to their tune knowing inside that they're destroying a masterpiece for the sake of sales and profit... in the end it's a business, they're just navigating by the wrong principles IMO. Thank God for the small Niche an Indie houses!! I bet it doesn't smell bad, just change the name. Thanks for the review Max!!!
Hey Carlos, good to hear your feedback on this! It's a shame, but I guess that's the normal order of things... Out with the old in with the new - the 2014 version to me is a true Masterpiece, I'm just glad to have it! The new one smells good but it's a completely different scent!
I have the 100 ml. bottle of the 2020 Parfum and I must say that, it is good but way too overhyped. It seems that at some point somebody started this „masterpiece“ thing and everyone followed blindly. I have a 400+ collection, half of them niche, and i think that I can recognize what is going in the direction of a masterpiece. DHP 2014 and 2020 was very good but far from being something extraordinary. In my very humble opinion… Having said that, I would suggest anyone to give DHP 2025 a chance and don’t judge it too quickly based on the ongoing hate…
@@Atif_Ph.D._Kate_Bush_Fan_Club How is it with Black Gemstone from Stephane Humbert Lucas? Or Anubis from Papillon? These are two masterpieces from my collection.
Performance for me on this has been stellar for what i need it for. I don’t have Armani code so it’s not redundant in my collection. It works perfect for me. And agreed if you renamed it or released at a stand alone. It would get less flack then its gotten.
I got three bottles of the OG and three bottles of the clone. I'll get more if available. The rest of Dior I'll ignore for now. Thank you for the review.
I am keen on this fragrance. I have sampled Dior Homme Intense and found the iris to be too heavy for me. If Dior Homme 2025 is more mass appealing it may suit my taste and lifestyle. Cheers.
Max let us know your thoughts on the dry down. I find a lot of perfumes are designed for the mall shoppers. They get one spray, and the opening is amazing and they buy based on that alone.
I did talk about it briefly in the video, as I wore it a few times now after the shooting of this video - the dry-down whilst smelling good, is a boring and uninspiring ''generic'' been-there, done-that, SWEET vanilla-amber slightly spicy profile which is similar to a ton of designer fragrances of this genre in the designer counter today! 🙄
My honest opinion, I actually really like it! I was picking up a new bottle of Acqua Di Gio Parfum (the best fragrance imo) at Sephora today and I smelled the new Dior Parfum and I have to say I was really liking it! Hard to compare to the old one which is also incredible but hey, to each their own I guess
It actually smells good! And it’s very mass appeal. That being said, it’s nothing like the 2014 and 2020 releases. I still bought it, but gifted it to my friend 2 days later. My ranking is 2014/2020 as 1st; Intense as 2nd, and 2025 release third. Smells good though!
I agree! It does smell good, there's no doubt about that, but if you go into it thinking old formulations and scent profiles you'll be disappointed because it definitely goes into a sweeter and more mass-appealing direction!
To me this is the parfum version of Dior Homme 2020. They made it less special to make it more versatile and wearable for everyday life. It's not as good as the original version, but since I have a lifetime supply of that one, I'm not mad at it.
Hey buddy, sure - they (DIOR) were clearly going for a more universally appealing profile to capture a younger and broader audience... Having said that, I would keep the 2020 version as ''original DHP'' maybe as an exclusive to Dior boutiques, etc. That way you can appeal to those that really love the OG style!
By all accounts it would appear DIOR has pivoted away from Iris as a mainstay of the Dior Homme line and more so going the general consumer mass appealing Amber woods route as the main accord.
Its been growing on me after a couple weeks of wearings. Its different, hopefully they release the o.g. formula as an "elixir" or send it to the prive line👀for now Boadicea the victorious Harmonious will be the answer🔥🔥🔥
If they are not planning to release a DHP Original or an Elixir, that will be a big mistake and letdown. Constantly changing snd reformulating fragrances that people love is really greedy and bad if you ask me.
The wearing experience is definitely very pleasant, and happy to have a bottle, just glad I was able to grab a couple 100ml’s (OG) before Fragrancebuy sold out. Spot on review
A few months back, maybe 6 to 9 months ago, the rumor was of a Parfum Intense that was going to amp up the Leather and add smokey facets. It was to be a darker smoky interpretation of the Parfum. Not sure what happened to that plan/idea but this has zero smoke, none. Nothing dark and mysterious here. This is a common safe designer with sweet synthetic amber and touch of iris with some aromatic Lavender and metallic facets. Smells good but it's not even in the same ballpark as the original. It doesn't deserve to have the name Parfum. I agree with Max they need to make this a one and done and keep the original parfum going.
Dior Homme parfum 2014 is a masterpiece. Maybe the best fragrance Dior has ever made. I do really like the new 2025 version. It is more mass appealing and will probably sell quite well. It really reminds me of Givenchy Gentlemen eu de parfum with a hint of Le Male eu de parfum
Dior Homme Parfum 2014 was a high end steakhouse. Dior Homme Parfum 2025 is Chipotle. Both are good, but one was a luxurious experience like no other and the other is just common and derivative
It was made for mainstream mass appealing not for frag heads. These designer fragrance companies don't care what yall think, it's all about making money. Idoits crying over fragrances 😆 🤣
2020 wasn’t toned down at all Max. Not sure how you are getting that from it. I have 2014 and 2023 and they are completely identical in all aspects other than presentation
I'm not saying you're wrong, but i don't get any iris at all. Non, just a little Alpha and Beta Ionones, but no real iris/orris. It's not a 'Homme' fragrance, it's something else. I don't like this weird Le Male Elixir without honey vibe, not my thing. I hope for a Dior Homme Parfum Original, like the 2020 version did.
That's fair! I get the iris slightly in the opening then it quickly goes away - sadly this isn't something that I wanted Dior to do with DHP - hopefully they will keep the old profile in a DHP Original offering! 🤞
@@MaxForti I see what you smell, the ionones are there to make an iris accord, but to my noses ionones don't smell like iris. I have a lot of raw materials incl orris butter/orris givco and all the inones, and all that inones give me is a metallic weirdness that's in a lot of 'iris' fragrances. Let's just hope for an "Original' or Elixir of the real DHP, bottleprices are getting out of hand here. 300+ euro for the 100 ml's on the used market here, insane!
The thing I find hilarious is that I have never even seen even one person say this smells bad. They just say it smells totally derivative, uninspired, and it also isn’t fair that its release has led to something else being discontinued. Mass appealing fragrances rarely smell bad, they are just utilitarian and serve no purpose to people who wear fragrances for more reasons than just trying to get compliments from people.
It always make my heart stop and my soul dry out when people call any designer perfume "niche". It's a straight offence to compare these cheap synthetic poisons to the real deal. It's funny when people call a smell "iris" when they actually have zero idea what true genuine iris root extract is like. Don't they mind being sold carcinogen packed knockoffs at 90% profit margin?
This release smells good but is a disappointment. I am a huge fan of Dior Homme 2020. i wasn’t expecting it to be 2010s DHomme. I was hoping that it would be a flanker to DH2020 but it doesn’t smell like it. It actually smells like they tried to pay homage to DHI on the dry down so I see that they tried to make the 2010 lovers happy. This stuff smells redundant to about 4 other fragrances that I have like Givenchy gentleman, Hugo boss bottled etc. It’s far too sweet. They should’ve darkened it and went more spicy. It doesn’t smell bad, it’s actually pretty good. It’s just redundant and nothing special so I’m disappointed.
reminds me of when Dior Homme 2020 came out. But look how it’s grown on everyone over time. People who are complaining about this one with or without trying it on first need to relax. It is not the old DHP and it’s not supposed to be. Dior is redefining the image of a Dior’s man and they are doing a good job. EVERYONE is talking about this.
I don’t like the scent of this one. I liked Eau Forte a lot actually, but not this one. I think people wouldn’t be to reactive if they just stated a new line. Eau Forte and Homme 2025 should have been released under the Sauvage and Homme line.
People need to chill out. Fragrance houses evolve based on a number of parameters. The original DHP is outstanding and perfect in many eyes, but the new fragrance is great too. Stop crying and either purchase more of the OG like I have or just chill out. Good grief, people cry about the dumbest crap. I have multiple backup bottles of both Dior Homme Original, DHI, and DHP. AND I have already purchased 4 bottles of the new Parfum!

I don't understand this new so called Direction of DIOR 😔 Please Dear Dior 🙏 Release OG 2014 Creation Let's Call It Dior Homme Elixir ✨ And Charge Us Double But Please Deliver..!!!! Thanks MaXxX 🙏
I disagree I actually returned my bottle, it stinks like crap, I’m done with Dior, I’m very fortunate to have backups of the entire Homme line, Dior better reconsider their relationship with FK.
MFK has his own Brand. He doesn't have to do ANYTHING. He wasted his time making a mediocre perfume butchering a legendary line and I'm sure he got paid well for it.
2025 Dior homme parfum smells like 90% of other designer fragrances. Hard pass on this one. Not a huge fan of the original parfum anyways. I prefer the intense.
