    How do I install a 4-in-one ESC in a FPV quad
    The Mamba stack I used: bit.ly/35QpBXN

      3:30 did your stack come with that capacitor?
      If not how do you know which one you need?
      I'm completely new to all of this

      @@RandoManFPV Hi there :)
      the capacitor indeed came with the stack.. that is true with most stacks from Diatone :)

    Thanks for the tips with the soldering. Still a little struggle to get the power wires soldered in.

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      you're welcome and well yes.. without camera & lights in the way it IS easier.. But I will probably revert to wrapping the wires Over the ESC.. the soldering job is somehow A Lot easier that way :)

  • @GinTonicFPV

    Good to hear that bridging two of the motor wires don't always fry the ESC. Those large exposed connections always look precarious to me.

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes :) especially when you first test the setup and not instantly go to 100% power :) you will instantly see / hear something is wrong, and it can be solved before damaging things :)
      The solder-pads being out in the open.. well yeah... I guess we have gotten used to them :D They aren't really an issue

    Diatone was always one of my favorite electronic makers I will definitely be going back to them in the future I'm down to needing goggles and I'll at least be whooping again 🤟

      There you go :) AND their stacks don't cost an arm & a leg.. That will also help :)

    Pretty nice work, dude! Beautiful build! 😃
    Looking forward to the next part!
    Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
    BTW, a easier way to record the soldering is directly from above. With a tripod or something to hold the camera... It's hard to explain, but there would be you, the thing you're working on and then the tripod. Afterwards you just need to rotate the video. 😉

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks brother! :)
      and yep.. I do understand and I actually do have an overhead "tripod".... but my Canon camera is FAR to heavy for it :(
      Then... I bought me a Gopro for this type of video a while back.... Gopro's can't handle my video lighting :@ :P
      Ohw well... maybe in a next life ;)
      Cheers and have a good week!

    Hi, I am curious as to which way around you installed the low ESR cap? I have built a few quads with the Mamba esc but only just realized now that I may have been putting the cap on backwards, although they are all flying fine. These caps have red on the top which I presumed was indicating the positive side, and that's how I installed them on my other builds, but after looking at these caps again I noticed that the short leg is marked with red. As far as I was aware the short leg should be negative, so I'm a little confused as to the correct polarity now!

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Howdy :)
      most any cap has a "marker" on one side.. on the black cap's it's a white band.. on these ESP cap's it is indeed a red marking.. that is however in almost all cases the Ground :$
      interesting to see how the quad then does fly well.. Maybe the cap then simply never get's charged?

  • @lubibubi6380
    @lubibubi6380 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    In the manual it's written that I should only use the capacity if I fly with 6s. In my case I'm flying with 4s should I also anyways solider the capacitor on it?

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeahhh so not sure if the meaning what they say is simply lost in translation..
      I do also use the cap. on 4S builds and I would think it then also helps in leveling off ripples..
      Also: if you ever want to change the motors out with a 6S setup.... you will then already have that cap in the quad...
      I don't really know of a downside of having the cap on it

    Great build, I've also ordered a Mamba F55 ESC. Does the esc come with the anti vibration grommets?

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't often order just an ESC, but I'm sure it will come with grommets yes :)

    I tried to solder the motors on today but for some reason the solder does not melt almost at all even on higher temperatures. On the practice board it worked fine. How do I know if i broke the ESC?

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you using solder with a flux-core? This board itself shouldn't make soldering harder then with other boards..
      And (allways) to test the ESC you need to use a smokestopper (goggle it.. you'll see what I mean) to prevent damage...

    Is it always a pain in the ass to get the cable for the xt60 to stick to the esc

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Make sure to pre-tin the PAD's (have nice bubble of tin on them)
      And pre-tin the wire-ends as well..
      use an iron that doesn't sag in temperature
      then heat both the wite and the pad when joining the two

  • @gtaitbiz7787
    @gtaitbiz7787 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    How do you know which wire in the motor goes where? They are all black.
    Can I use a banana plugs to the ESC? For quick disconnect
    Can this unit use a GPS?
    Can this FC connect to a frsky receive?

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don't need to know :) if the motor would run in reverse, you can simply reverse it in software...
      hmmmm instead of the XT60 you mean? That IS possible ofcourse, but XT60's are kinda the norm for drones in this size.....

    • @gtaitbiz7787
      @gtaitbiz7787 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DutchRC I meant the bullet plugs not the banana plugs.

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gtaitbiz7787 I see :) that IS possible but you shouldn't...
      it would be a point of failure, and it's not needed (you can simply reverse motor-direction in software)

    Dutch, can I use a MAMBA Stack MK4 H743 55A
    On a tarot 650 with 4 Tarot Martin long endurance motor?

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there :) sooooo whith any question like this you will have to "guess" what the amp-draw of your quad will be.. With a Tarot650 like that... I think the amp-draw will be limited and this should work out just fine :)

    How do you calculate the ESC size for 4 X 2700KVM motor?

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      that isn't the only thing that matters.. the weight.. motor-size.. propellor pitch.. will all play a part in determining how high the Amp draw will be..
      If you are new to picking the right ESC: find a RTF quad that is similar to what you want to build, and see what ESC's are in That RTF quad...
