My man, I’ve never heard it explained like this before with the quick easy chord changes and the rhythm while still strumming, amen brother!
Happy to help!
This is a months worth of in person lessons in 10 minutes! Great Job Matt! This is the stuff that beginners need to know!
You makes learning guitar sooo fun! These are the best tutorials on friggin youtube, man! Thank a lot, and God bless you, Matt!
let's go!!! thanks so much!!
Thankyou for Your Simple Explaining each Chords And Finger Placement. You Don't Speed Through your Explaining each video
I love this guy, thank you so much brother for teaching me so many songs. God bless you and your family 👪 🙏
Dude, I found you when I was I think 8yo and got my first guitar. The first song I learned from you was George Strait. It was either Love Without End Amen or Check Yes or No. I can't remember which one was first but man, since then I've been watching your channel on and off and I love everything video of yours I watch! I'm 16 now and it's just crazy thinking of just that amount of time. I get it's only 8 years but that's like, half my life. Thanks for all the lessons!
I’ve been trying to learn guitar for years and I totally had an aha moment when you talk about the whole stopping strumming to find the next chord!! Definitely gonna try to take that advice on board and practice more!!
Great tutorial, Matt. One of my favorite songs to play and this method makes it so much easier.
Great to hear!
Thanks for the tip to keep on strumming through the cord changes. That definitely helped
Happy to help!
this might be the best tutorials i’ve seen so far. i’ve watched so many of your strumming videos and rhythm videos but can’t seem to get it. but this video really started help get those gears turning in my brain. thank you Matt!
Just new here, and country is what am going for, am new 2 guitar alough I did some lessons.. things like this are absolutely perfect..love Luke combs...thank you for this pal🇮🇪🇺🇲
Welcome!!
Thank you Brotha for teaching us this method. I lost my brother 2 years ago and he was a great guitar player and I always wanted to learn to play like him and now I can. Thank you 🙏🏼 ✝️
Sorry to hear that.. praying for you brother
@@CountrySongTeacher thank you 🙏🏼
Matt thanks again I know I’ve said it before but I can’t express enough, just from this video I’ve just learned to sing and play 😮 I was like whoa I can do this?? Thanks to you
Great job!
Do you have any videos showing how to do that percussive slap when you strum ? love that in songs like how John Mayer and Ed Sheeran play sometimes!!! salute 🫡
It’s essentially palm muting they’re a bunch of videos about it
One of my favorite songs and one of your best lessons full of strumming and transition tips for beginners. Love your lessons and home spun advice. Thank you man!
I love your videos :D. thx for teaching
Another amazing lesson i want to buy the song book! 👍
You great brother. Love all you stuff
Great lesson man
awesome, thanks man so helpful to me
Glad it helped!
Busker chords. Lively and fun tune.
the John Deere!!! 👍🏼🧑🌾🚜
Could you make a tutorial on how to do the extra chord strums and movement of finger on the D chord?

Hi Matt, can you explain what the exact strumm pattern is like? All online chords and strumming patterns seem to differ from yours. Bought the songbook but no strumm patterns there. Would be nice to hear from you. Greeting from the Netherlands
Awesome tutorials but when your done explaining, please just play the song without stopping and talking, it makes it so confusing! It counteracts all the good work simplifying the song, I'm sure everyone would appreciate being able to play along in your style with those chords to practice! And then when they have the chords and strumming pattern nailed they can try and play along to the actual song, your tutorials are the best on TH-cam, clear, concise, simple and easy to follow, but please just do one last run through with no stopping and talking :)
Great idea!
Hello have a good time sir it is nice to learn guitar but it is hard for me how to streaming
Smashing it
I wish you could as your show the chords also teach the strumming pattern slower motion so we can flow into easier.
Holla 😆 love it
Thanks for this!
Subd!
Slow the stumming hand down you always do show it but for beginners that’s the hardest part by far the four cords I got . Like old Joe Walsh said it’s all the Right HAND. Rhythm is my problem . Also I have learned a lot from you content
amazing man! Thank you so much
🤠🫡✌🏼
What kind of guitar is that it looks so cool!
Can you do a detailed video on the string stop? Thanks! Or if you already have, anybody got the link?
Will do!
@@CountrySongTeacher Holy smokes thanks for responding! Appreciate it, and going to be sending some support through your website! Looking forward to the video!
Hi from England 🏴 matt. Great song, great strumming tips again. Any chance of doing small town by john mellencamp ?
Do you have any PHYSICAL BOOKS THAT IS WHAT I USE SINCE I AM USED TO OLDE FASHIONED BOOKS.
No maybe one day! Digital has the links to all the tutorials if you don’t know the songs
Hey Matt. Not a big deal but I have ordered songbooks from you and did not receive the survey
What is the strumming pattern? D D D U? Then repeat?
Yes!
WHAT GUITAR THAT THINGS SICK
Do you have hard cover books
no but I've had many people get them printed and bound at office depot and kinkos for a few bucks!
Can I have your guitar maybe I can sound more like you if you do.
a caron fiber guitar. thats sweet bro.
I love it!
Can someone clarify the strumming pattern? It sounds like three downs but the transcript says two??
It’s d d d d up
@@CountrySongTeacher thank you!!!!!
Yes you can play cowboy chords all day but without singing it gets lost. I had a seasoned guitar player tell me this. If I don't sing things will be lost. Even with barr chords it doesn't matter. You're singing and playing are the cream of the crop. Yes guitar by itself is beautiful but campfire it needs singing.
Celebrating 1 year of how stupid and uncalled for this comment was. Smh
@@adamcawthonit makes total sense to me tbh, I’ve gotten really lost on some jams on the guitar without singing along. It just adds that much more to it.
Couldn’t agree more I’m starting right at the beginning learning Yankee Doodle haha and it really flows better with the singing and it makes sense
@@adamcawthon 2 years
Actually I saw the offset smoker in the background first
6:15...you are actually strumming too much here in between chords...hahaha
Why are you laughing bru
