Really love the method of making the mold with a plastic cup and then using a plastic cup to hold the mold together when you are pouring. Genius

so there are that kind of minis with mega construx now? a bit too much of things are coming to my mind now, like...predators minis + some 40k bits + molding....too much possibilities! argh!

I might try doing this. I got a 3D printer so I could make my own D&D minis but I don't wanna wait hours on possible failed prints.
I enjoyed this video. You can see how you skilsl have developed since you made this video. When Im casting, I tend to cast as many parts seperately as possible then I pin and use milliput or green stuff to fill in the gaps.
You already have the skills of a caster you are like 65% of the way to producing your own minature sculpts. Why not go all in? Try a little sculpting. I recommend Polymer Clay or Milliput.

My god, its a brilliant idea! I tries to copy tank wheels(dunno how to call it in Englishl, and there was that damn air holes. Defenetly would try it again tomrrow with green stuff in air holes
@@Minedeployder Without access to professional equipment, such as a spin casting machine, air holes are always going to happen. So you find that when you self -cast using blue stuff or whatever, you are often resculpting anyway, I myself have had to hand shape afterwords with carving tools - in many ways this is why milliput style putties are superior because you can carve them which can create more interesting details. Never throw anything away, a misshapen wheel or other bit can make an interesting feature on a base.

Hypothetically, would this be a fine way of duplicating a larger object, perhaps something similar in shape, size, and appearance to a spruce for non-trademark space soldiers? Or would you recommend something else to do objects of such size?
It would be possible. Its not easy and you would have to make vents for air but it is doable
I dont want anybody building a statue of me to remember me, but I would love this guy to make a miniature of me.
mold making question, if you add say toothpicks to the original cast to add in some "through lines" would that make pouring in the plastic better as air won't get caught in the limbs?

Sorry, nothing new to see. I do have a recommendation. Gravity pulls down, bubbles float up. What you need are some reservoirs at the bottom. Think the gate connections to the sprue on the market minis. The plastic will be less likely to leave bubbles at the bottom. I hope that makes some sense.

It’s not the air geet trap or not. You pouring from bottom up and the arm direction is above down. You can’t expect the resin go that way to the arm place. You need a direct air hole to the arm and poor directly to that air hole.
Nice try , but u doing all wrong- first when u pooring silicone ( if u dont have wacum ) pore it in layers , when u removing figure from silicone make precision cut not tear it a part
