I love your content, Neil! Can't wait to see more vert footage when you can get to a ramp. I'm in a vert dry spell out here in Florida, USA for now but hopefully we can get back to trying the backside airs!
Thank you 👍I need to learn some new tricks on vert but it takes so long when I'm not riding a vert ramp often enough. I really need to ride one more than once a week to actually make some good progress but I'm finding it hard to do that. Back side airs is definitely something I need to work on and improve too. 👊
Ha Ha yeah got away with it :) I think I've learned the knack of staying against and using the wall when things go a bit wrong which saves Me all the time. 5050's have become my "Go-to" trick it's the one thing I really feel comfortable with even though the way I do them can be seen as a little unconventional , I think if I can do them anyone can, You just have to do a million of them and not be put off by any mis-haps, then slowly they just become comfortable (I guess you can say that about any trick) , Cheers !
Scary but not a bad slam, mere flesh wound! My worst was in the Upland pipe CA, put me in hospital for 3 days with brain hemorrhagh and a bill for $33K (which my insurance took 18 months to pay) It was a few months before I got back on my board but went back a year later and skated it again!
The big dent in my shin and inability to even touch it for a few weeks was enough for Me but I'm glad we have a public health service that means all the finances are taken care of out of our taxes rather than personal insurance.
Holy shit that's heavy. I hope you're ok now! My mate has just ripped his knee to pieces on vert. I broke my scapula a few months back in the bowl. This hobby can be costly especially for older dudes.
@@jamesryan4325 Yeah all good thanks, although my brain injury did affect my sense of smell or at least the way my brain processes the info. That was back in 2005 and skated through to 2013. I live in the US now and back on my board at 62 after 11 years off. I'm British and was on a SoCal skate trip, had extreme sports insurance but the b%&$rds still tried to get out of paying. I had the hospital in the US contacting me at home (UK) asking if I wanted to set up a $50 / week payment plan! lol. Be careful dude and pad up, I wouldn't be here now if I hadn't!
@@jamesryan4325 Thanks, yeah I'm good now thanks and back to business. Ouch I hope you both are going to recover ok too, I suppose We gotta pay to play !
@@sharki11 then you should watch more of my videos to find out that’s how I do them 😜 no it’s not why it happened , I explain why in the video. I’ve been doing them this way for years and this is a very rare thing to happen to me probably one in thousands.

That slam was heavy. Lucky there! Jealous of your 50-50s! Still struggling with those... after so many years lol

Nice one Neil. At least you slammed in front of skateboard royalty 😂. I’m still up for the 27th at Bay66.
Ha Ha :) Cool yeah I'm good for the 27th so see you there ;)

Never seen someone lock their back 50s toe side. That’s why you flipped. You need to learn how to cross lock with your back door locked in heelside.
