  • How to apply DiamonBrite paint protection to old or new car paintwork. SEE LINK BELOW TO BUY FROM EBAY.
    Normally paint protection is offered by dealers at between £200 and £500 for the whole car, including interior. All I wanted was protection of the paint from bird droppings and tree sap etc.
    After checking internet sources the DiamonBrite protection seemed to be one of the best and the product can be bought in eBay very cheaply. I read on the Internet that it is meant to last 6 years. If it lasts 6 months I'll be happy enough.
    HERE IS A LINK TO BUY THE STUFF FROM EBAY UK: ebay.us/s5icA8
    And eBay uk link for gloves: ebay.us/cE1BHK

      Thanks, yes so much better and cheaper to do it yourself. The circular v straight line application I found didn’t make a lot of difference but try it yourself.

    I think I have a follow up video on my channel done a while later. In the meantime I can say that you will notice it still there after a year, compared to untreated. Probably reapplying every 2 years is about right.

    Nice video 👍 how long did the diamond bright stay good for?

    • @comeinhandynow
      @comeinhandynow  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could still still tell it was there after a year. Recommended to use the diamond bright restorer (capful in a bucket) when washing to keep it looking good permanently and for longer than that.

      @@comeinhandynow Great, I have just used it on my paintwork, I’m going to only use the DB restorer shampoo, but will wax occasionally too 👍

    We were also given a small 100ml bottle when we bought our new puma. Is this enough to complete the process?

    • @comeinhandynow
      @comeinhandynow  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A small amount goes a long way. The normal process is two bottles for the two stages.

    I was given a complimentary diamondbrite from my ford dealership, I'm a bit worried about applying it myself but to tight to pay for someone else to do it, but it really does seem fool proof?

    • @comeinhandynow
      @comeinhandynow  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is quite easy just a bit time consuming. To gain confidence try it on one small section first, or on another car.

    A very useful video, thanks. I must say your 15 year old car looked pretty spectacular anyway!
    I've just bought stage 1 and 2 with fabric protector for £12 delivered free from Ebay. I've got new Alcantara
    and leather seats and am a bit diffident about applying the fabric protector to that. Any comments on this?

    • @comeinhandynow
      @comeinhandynow  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Keith Parsons Thanks for your comments. I haven't tried the fabric protector, but if you are worried try it on a hidden spot first. Maybe pull up the rear seat cushion and try it on the side of that.

      +comeinhandynow Yes good idea, I'll do that. And in the mean time I have followed your instructions with diamondbrite and my new car (Skoda Superb SEL) looks great. Thanks.

    Thanks for this, I was toying with the idea of getting this done by the dealer for around £350 (gardx instead of diamond brite) but this goes to show just how easy it is to put on myself. Have you tried the fabric protection they do for the car interior?

    • @comeinhandynow
      @comeinhandynow  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Neil Johnson It does save money, and others have commented that dealers don't spend that much time doing it, so it may be a more thorough job if you do it yourself, or maybe choose a 'car detailer' person that does it as a job. It is time consuming though. I didn't do fabric reconditioning as I figure leather seats are already easy enough to clean. I think it's just sprayed on.

    • @Neiley69
      @Neiley69 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah. It's pretty crazy how wildly varied the dealer quotes are. My wife has just got a Qashqai and had Diamond Brite applied to that for £150 by the Nissan dealership as a special offer (they said that was at cost, hmmmm.) I was quoted £500 originally for the A3 I'm picking up this week, but they eventually reduced it to £350. I do think it's a good product and worth having, but 350 was a bit much. I'll definitely try doing it myself instead. Thanks again.

    Could this be applied with an electronic buffer

    • @comeinhandynow
      @comeinhandynow  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I suppose it could but no need to as it is easy to apply and rub off.

    thanks for the video. hard to say from this video but do you see a big difference after applying this? Just got it from my friend as a present and thinking to wax my car.

    • @comeinhandynow
      @comeinhandynow  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It certainly repeals water well and feels smoother. Subjectively it does look more shiney as well.
      There's another video on my channel comparing it to other waxes and it comes out well.

      In it's day yes, I would be inclined to agree. There were a few interesting cars around that era. I had a '98 Nissan Primera and that, too, was completely un-stickable. I am now running a 2013 Mazda 6 which probably has the Nissan topped. But ween those two cars I've had a Peugeot 406, a BMW 528i and a VW Passat 2.0 TDi. None of these come close to the Nissan for agility and sheer grip.

      @@comeinhandynow there is much more to cleaning a car than most people appreciate. Worst place is the drive through or hand wash and scratch.
