- A beautiful song, almost forgotten...
Since I didn't want to just have some static image for the video, I created a little feature presentation of the program it was made in - Impulse Tracker.

Tracker music is one of the few things I'm always impressed by, even when I'm 80 years old and all the new technologies come and go, this shit is always breath-taking
Brilliant song full of hope... I'm amazed every single time I listen to it. Electronic composition of few samples yet so emotive.

Someone has to make a documentary about him. Absolutely incredible with that technology. "Pale Dreams" also one of my favorite.

This program made me fall in love with making music. And this song made me wanting to make beautiful like this! Wow this takes me back :D. I made a lot of songs with Impulse Tracker. Unfortunatly lost a lot of them due to HD crashes:(
I can't even count how often I heard that tune on IT when as a teen and asked myself: how can anyone accomplish this on a tracker? Especially 5:29 - it's masterclass - I had dreams of that bit.

In the 90s I was using Impulse Tracker 2.16 (not 100% sure about the version number, the main color was blue anyway). I had a great demo tune. Symphonic/cosmic rock with a great reverbing guitar like Tangerine Dream.
So I did a search and this tune appears to be the one I am looking for (still knew it exists after more than 10 years). Must admit I am not 100% sure yet. How do the other demo tunes sound like?
Anyway, thanks for posting it. Good to keep the memories alive.

It's an amazing track and I marvel how good it still sounds considering that was created on a DOS Program... But then again Impulse Tracker is a masterpiece, a brilliant piece of software.
By the way, my favorite track composed by Chris Jarvis is "Northern Sky", a real masterpiece. It is in ".it" (impulse tracker) format and can be found in the internet but not in TH-cam. I will try to upload it

Strange to think that I still have some tracks tucked in a directory somewhere I made in the 90's. That got there on floppy disks from 40MB IDE hard drives... lot has changed, but tracker music is still awesome.

I still listen to modules as well, they have this timeless futuristic charm :]
I wish I still had my directory. There were a few phenomenal tracks I just can’t find anywhere.

I've been a fan of Chris Jarvis for a lot of years. I make underwater videos. I shoot the footage and put it to music. I've used several of Chris's compositions but as I've not been able to find him to get permission I've not used them on my website. I also used some Nightbeat music and as I managed to find Carl Larsson and get permission I've put them on the website. On my channel in youtube is a revamped version of a video using a Nightbeat piece that I've rehashed myself on my Yamaha XS6.

Why does the description say this song is "almost forgotten"...? It's probably the best known song for IT214 users - since this and "Drifting Onwards" were both freakin distributed with the .zip of impulse tracker! I didn't really care for either of them much, but they weren't bad. Just not my style.

none knows. I tried to find any means to contact him. tried too hard but I could not findnot a single piece of information as to how to reach him nor where he lives nor even if he still lives. a photo found somewhere when he was young but not sure if its his or some guy with same name. Nothing absolutely else. He erased everything.

How install this font in Schism Tracker?
This is a modified version of the "Thick" font that came with IT font package, itf211.zip
You need to rename the file to font.cfg and copy it to C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Schism Tracker\fonts (on Windows)
