You are so fortunate that you already spoke Spanish! I knew quite a bit of Spanish and experienced long stays in remote areas in Baja and monthly shopping in tijuana all my life but central Mexico is very different! Everything from the Spanish accents being quite different from state to state to a very different culture than in Baja! We've been to 14 states now in central Mexico (not counting Baja norte/sur) and currently are enjoying winter at the beach in Oaxaca.
Hey Jose what is the concept of 3 world country I think you mistaking the word 3 word country you need to do a little deep research the meaning of 3world country and American is anyone who Born in this beautiful continent America is continent is not the same USA citizen
I 100% agree, the Mexican people are warm and welcoming, faith, family, food/drink, in that order, they embrace and celebrate life, no one throws a party like a Mexican, to me that is the best part of this country.
One quick way to find proof of this statement is to hang out at Guadalajara Metropolitan Park on any given Sunday that has good weather. I enjoyed going to that park for exercise when I was living in Zapopan and yeah, Mexicans really know how to party! WOOT
Awww Jose ! I almost start crying, im a mexican living in texas for 40years, the american dream? Sure, but when i became us citizen for some reason i start comparing the us culture to my mexican roots and i really miss it, thanks for showing the “ mexican dream” to everyone👍✌️
Oh wow! Had no idea the video would be so emotional. But I can honestly say I felt the same way making it for you guys. It really is insane to think how I have never felt "normal" in my life until I moved to Mexico over 5 years ago. Hope you can make it out to Mexico too! Thanks for sharing!
I haven't gotten to Mexico yet, but I am working on it! I can tell you the thought of living among kind, loving, non-judgmental wonderful people has changed my view of people in general. I knew there had to be somewhere better than the US. I knew there were REAL people that would live as I have always dreamed. The thought has confirmed that I will be able to eat REAL FOOD and get my health to where it needs to be. The thought has made me ready to go out and explore without the fear of not returning home just because of my skin color. The thought of being able to retire comfortably and not struggle for the rest of my life. And many more thoughts and realizations. To Mexico and its people, I thank you in advance for welcoming me into your home. I will do so right by you and your country!! Thank you!!!
Love this, I have been living in Guadalajara for 9 months now and I have never been happier!! I don’t think I could go back to living in the U.S. it is true what you said I have met many Americans who could not adapt here, I adapted, and I feel so much better here.. I am here because of your videos. When you come to Guadalajara contact me.
That is awesome! So happy to hear that! For sure in a few months just email me to remind me who you are so when we do go up there we can link up! Congratulations on your move! Viva Mexico!
Jose, I am really proud of you. I remember your early videos when you first moved to Mexico. You talked about USA Cali/Florida dating and the general bad experiences. Just the general high cost of living. And Now look at you NOW, you are amazing you have a Beautiful life, GOD BLESS YOU BRO
Muchas Gracias for the kind words! I appreciate that! It hasn't been easy but in comparison to my situation in the States it has been extremely easy out here. Thanks again for all the love and support throughout the years! Viva Mexico!
In this day and age of soundbites and short attention, spans. You have a real gift for communicating and talking to the common man and woman. Thanks for all the information you provide.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the kind words! I used to worry more about my videos being too long until I started to do research on my own channel only to find out most people love the content I provide. Muchas Gracias amigo!
I lived for a couple of years in Venezuela once and I have decent Spanish language skills. I'm looking to live in Mexico, at least for a while. Currently Oaxaca looks appealing. I keep thinking, "Oh I need to do this and that first" and friends/family keep telling me "Oh you're going to get kidnapped by a Mexican drug cartel," but pretty soon I think I'm going to just go "Enough!" and book my flight, pack my bags and head on down.
From my understanding it is more dangerous in Venezuela these days than in most of Mexico. Regardless people will always try to get you not to go for many reasons. Some valid others not so much. But at the end of the day it is your life an you need to do what you think is best for you. If you think Mexico is right for you then just go visit! I promise you that you won't be disappointed.
I wanna thank you for all the information you provide. I have DACA and ive been in the states since i was 2 years old. I have been thinking of moving back. Both me and my partner have decided to finish university then move back.
I would love to get back to that mindset! I was raised in Latin America and have lived in the USA for 30 plus years and have become so cynical. I hate being this way...need to get back to kindness and chill culture.
Thank you for showing me the positive of Mexico especially Merida . I be been going to Cancun for the past 10 year . Now I’m planning my retirement In Merida . I plan to do a scouting in March and meet with Jose the lawyer that you have had in your video.
This video is so honest & realistic, as well as positive & hopeful. I've been very cynical for a long time. Watching this made me feel better. Thank you.
I totally agree with you, I’m looking forward to one day make the move to Mexico, as for now All I can do is watch your videos and dream about it, I like your positive attitude, stay that way, I’m happy you found a better life down south 👏
The barrio I plan to move to is away from the tourist area so it's a mix of Mexicans and a few Canadians. I'm working on my Spanish but it will be better once I'm immersed in the local barrio. But my lifestyle is pretty simple, I should be able to just do all my shopping locally. Thanks Jose, you were a big part of helping me commit to the move! Hard to believe you've been there six years already. Time flies!
Agree with much of what you said. I've been traveling to Puerto Penasco for 30+ years and it hasn't been until recently that my wife and I visited other parts in Baja California. What a beautiful country. Much love and respect for Mexico and it's people.
@@JoseArteagaTravelsit’s nice. But it depends what part of the country you’re in. Some parts are a living hell, others are great. There’s still many changes that the country needs to make it a better place.
I enjoyed watching your whole video Jose!!! I feel so encouraged to wanna move to Mexico from California. It’s great to know I can ask you questions and stuff. God bless you!!!!
A week ago I was in Merida (for the second time in back to back years) and I have fallen in love with Mexico. There still is much to love about my own country of Canada, but I can relate to many of the topics you discuss on your channel. Wishing you all the best from a new subscriber!
Thanks so much for this video. I have been following you for a little bit now and I love your content. I love how you interview people, tour, and just break it all down. Thanks for sharing your personal life as well. I plan to visit Merida in 2024. I would love to check it out and if this is some place e is really like to retire. I plan to possible Airbnb. Again, thanks so much and see you in 2024!!!
Of course that sounds great! If you want to set up a paid consultation and just hang out and talk about whatever you want we can do that. Just send me an email and we can set that up.
Happy New Year Jose & Christian. Love how you respect Mexico & it shows in all you do and say. You have created a passionate lifestyle in Merida which you generously share with all of us. I feel the peace and safety each time we are in Merida. Really looking forward to making it our home. Thank you for all you do Jose.
Thanku Jose ❤️ your vids have been a bright spot while we’ve waited nearly a year to be able to leave for our own Mexican adventure. Leaving, hopefully, within a month
Thank you so much for your content! Still feels like yesterday when I returned to the USA from Mexico after living in Zapopan, Jalisco for 10 months. Discovered your youtube content a couple months before I returned to the USA. Your content is such a gold mine of information on how to solve the riddle of "how do I immigrate permanently to Mexico responsibly", that I was able to successfully spend this whole year developing my own immigration plan. I now take weekly classes with a spanish teacher to learn spanish, just finished saving up money for a TESL course that I'll be taking Jan or Feb in 2024 thanks to that awesome video you did interviewing a TESL teacher. TESL work is how I plan to create a career path that I can take with me to Mexico. Also thanks to your content I know to get my birth certificate apostilled before leaving because I don't plan to date again until after returning to Mexico because that's where I plan to settle down, marry and build a family. If all goes well I might be ready to return to Mexico for good by December of 2024! It's a rare luxury in life to know exactly what you want out of life and know exactly how to get it and this channel helped me with that. Happy New year, Jose!
Happy New Years Jose! On my way driving to Mazatlan from Canada. Mexico has made me a kid again. Adventures, carefree, laugh more, less worries and all I meet are friends. I am happy that you were able to figure out what life can be.
I love seeing the love between you and your wife❤ You've found the important things in life! I'm moving to Progreso on 8 March and absolutely looking forward to it. I'm from Trinidad and Mexico gives me an opportunity to ease back into a more natural pace of life. :) Glad to leave the rat race behind!

Really sucks what has happened up there. Hope things eventually turn around for you guys! In the meantime, we got Mexico! 😅
Wow! Jose You hit the nail on the head! You saved you best comments of the year for your channel on new years eve. I feel exactly the same way, trying to get rid of toxic people in the US. Every time I go over to Mexico or other latin countries I can have friendly conversations with just about anyone. Also , when I am in a hurry I hit the processed fast food in the US, where as in Mexico I would eat street unprocessed Tacos 🌮. 🤷 Keep up the honesty and God will bless you in the new year! Hopefully we meet someday. Rob
i’m dreaming of moving to Mexico. why are you not on the pacific coast? or have you been there & didn’t like it as much? Thanks for sharing your experience.
Yes Tijuana is awesome. I have lived in Tijuana for five years. When I landed in Tijuana I was terrified believing what I had heard that it was so dangerous 😅😅
Happy New Year to you both!!😊 Thanks for all the great videos & love the content! Now we think we want to come to Merida & bring you guys out to lunch!🌮🍺🍹
I remember you moving to your first apartment. I was sweating with you. Ha ha. Merida is too hot for me but in the winter season I could handle it. I would like to meet you sometime You are a real survivor. I love your narrations Someone should make a documentary of your life. Or write a book. Beside all that I think you should have your own television show.
right now I am jealous of those Beach shots, I know you aren't too far away from a good swim either in a cenote or the ocean. Here in Puebla it is so cold at night and no heat! If I ever settle down I don't think this is the place even though its nice during the day... looking for a little warmer but maybe not as hot as Merida :) can't win 'em all! Thanks for sharing... love seeing your subscribers numbers go up :) Congrats!
Muchas gracias for the kind words! Thanks for all the love and support throughout the years! Happy to hear you are happy out here in Mexico despite the cold!
José, me encantan tus comentarios sobre Mexico. Yo tambien los comparto, pues amo a Mexico. Sin embargo, veo otras redes donde observo tantos mexicanos emigrando clandestinamente a U.S.A. Puedes darme una explicacion??.. Conste que yo soy catalan y me siento neutral. Gracias.
?? I love to see you no porque eres paisano but you're soooo transparent and funny. Tu esposa es preciosa cuìdala mucho.
Hola!!
My "American dream" is living in Mexico. Luckily i have a job that i can do online in Mexico, but i cant wait to move there. With the rate of inflation in the US we will probably be moving there soon
@@JoseArteagaTravels thank you my friend. I plan to do the same as you but only difference would be I'm bringing my Brazilian girlfriend from Brazil with me

Polite is not necessarily Nice.
"Excuse me sir, I hate to bother you but could you possible go fuck yourself?"
I can’t wait to experience!! Thank you for your raw truth!!!
That is awesome! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Happy to see you are in great place in your life. Happy new year. Keep up the great videos.
Muchas Gracias! Happy new year!
Wow!
Jose
You hit the nail on the head!
You saved you best comments
of the year for your channel on new years eve.
Keep up the honesty and God will bless you in the new year! Hopefully we meet someday.
Rob
That is awesome! Glad you enjoyed the video! Happy New Year!
LOS ESPERAMOS PRONTO EN TIJUANA,BAJA CALIFORNIA😆😁😅🤣😂
Awesome! Viva Tijuana! Ahi los vemos el año que viene!
i’m dreaming of moving to Mexico. why are you not on the pacific coast? or have you been there & didn’t like it as much? Thanks for sharing your experience.
I basically put my finger on the map and landed in Mérida and haven't looked back since.
Yes Tijuana is awesome. I have lived in Tijuana for five years. When I landed in Tijuana I was terrified believing what I had heard that it was so dangerous 😅😅
Jaja yes you found out the hard way how awesome it truly is. Viva Mexico!
L❤VE Mexico 🇲🇽 😍 ♥️ Gorgeous country 🎉😊❤

I remember you moving to your first apartment. I was sweating with you. Ha ha. Merida is too hot for me but in the winter season I could handle it. I would like to meet you sometime You are a real survivor. I love your narrations Someone should make a documentary of your life. Or write a book. Beside all that I think you should have your own television show.
Jaja that's awesome! I think maybe its time i get to writing that book before my life story gets any longer! Thanks for sharing brother! Saludos!

Happy new year!
right now I am jealous of those Beach shots, I know you aren't too far away from a good swim either in a cenote or the ocean.
I love Merida as a matter of fact I’m going to be there for a week or so leaving this Friday
That is awesome! Thanks for sharing!

Happy New year to you and Christian!Thank you for the great videos and looking forward to watching in the new year.
Happy New Year!
José, me encantan tus comentarios sobre Mexico. Yo tambien los comparto, pues amo a Mexico. Sin embargo, veo otras redes donde observo tantos mexicanos emigrando clandestinamente a U.S.A. Puedes darme una explicacion??..
Conste que yo soy catalan y me siento neutral. Gracias.
Siempre veo tus magnificos videos. ?? I love to see you no porque eres paisano but you're soooo transparent and funny.
Amen! Muy bien dicho! Muchas gracias en compartir! Viva Mexico!
tourist board of Mexico should employ you
Jaja thanks! Maybe you guys should start a petition! 😅
I think that every time I watch one these videos.

My "American dream" is living in Mexico. Luckily i have a job that i can do online in Mexico, but i cant wait to move there. With the rate of inflation in the US we will probably be moving there soon

You’re story is awesome. As an animal advocate and animals rights person i found it very traumatic. Spent a year. Will only come back for short ecological tours and volunteering perhaps never try to live again. ✌🏼 happy new year!
Sorry to hear that! Thank you for the kind words and Thanks for sharing!
Am looking into southwest Tulum. Been there many times and my dad and Mexican stepmom lived in Chetumal and Merida. I prefer southwest Tulum.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Happy New Year!
Happy new year!
Happy New Year to you and your wife! 🎉🥂🍾
Happy new year!
I greatly appreciate your life change, to be aware of what type of propaganda exist here and a fake reality. Its so nice to see yiur journey, your difficulty but yiu have made yiur way. Changed your perspective and find happiness. I went Merida back in 1990, my 1st tortilla soup.took a nice bus from Cancun. I came see the pyramid and in land. So much has changed, but I really enjoyed the many cities in Mexico 🇲🇽. I have been to several states. I will continue to watch your videos. Because of you I am planning to become a resident and purchase a home. Im in semi retirement now.its all good
Awesome! Glad you have enjoyed my journey so far! Thanks for sharing!
