Most if not all of your troops positioning problems (including walking into fire) is caused by the use of the attack move command. They charge into any enemy regardless of hazards until they reach optimal attack ranges. This leads to your troops being out of position to cover each other and walking straight into ambushes. In short, your macro-managing way too much causing situations that, when you do micro-manage, it's in a panicked state because your trying to fix major mistakes rather than make micro adjustments to fit the flow of battle. Another thing I noticed is that you're not maintaining open lines of fire. Larger squads like rifle squads require line of sight to maximize effectiveness if not be able to fire at all. This does not seem to apply to smaller squads like engineers and snipers but if you see a rifle squad with a yellow or red target reticle marker, it means some of the squad cannot fire, reducing damage output, or all of the squad.
Explain the macro-managing. I don't follow what you mean? I do recall the fire lanes thing being important from the main game. It's been a bit since I played last so I forgot completely about it. Thanks.
Not to be rude, but there were quite a few times when you did not seem to be spatially aware, about what was on the map or what was happening. Two major issues I found with your tactics were first: When the 2nd bug hive kept attacking you from the rear; you had doors you could close to give you some small amount of time to put distance and proceed forward, but you completely overlooked it.The second: When the escape objective appeared, you panicked. Even tho there was a large star symbol that appeared on the map to clearly indicate where you were supposed to flee to. I get it, you were under attack at the time, but panicking like that will only cause you to lose even more units. Think, monitor the map, and stay observant. That'll help you out alot. Still, on a positive note, you've played better than others that I've watched play this level. So, good job. You got this, and can improve to be a Hero of the Federation :D
I'm not great at RTS games, I just enjoy Starship Troopers for the franchise experience. I miss a lot of comments trying when I stream RTS games in general because it takes a lot of focus. I'm only in it for the fun.
