Owned a Skiroule RTX 440 that could haul the mail, brother! Wife got it for me for a present. Won a regional Skiroule circuit race with it. Graduated later to Rupp Nitro 440 FA that could melt snow it was so fast.
A little power wash and a buff and that sled will be a sweet machine. I always liked the lines of a SkiRoule as well. Super clean and pretty light weight if I remember right. Great score.
thatr/t reminds me of a freind from school had bought one for 375.00 back in 1980. it had about1200 miles on it. it had that crappy walbro carb on it and didnt run worth a crap. it would pull 60 mph with 2 people. i found a 34 or 36 mm tillitson carb on it. it needed crank seals a track. i ended putting a used track on it and the used track ened up blowing off. i was testing it on a cylinder block in the barn and the track came out from under of the sled. the kid who had it ended selling it and the person who bought it put a track and crank seals in it and rode it all over the place.those 293 models runn really good. that might have a donaldson muffler on it. my neighbor down the road about 1980 had a 1970 boa-ski with a hirth 290 with a tillitson hr and a 1971 skiroule r/t 500 with a sachs 440 hd. the yougest son was trying to get the r/t 500 going and couldnt find out how . come to findout the driven pulley wouldnt move the track. he kept trying to fix it be couldnt. i had one of those snowmobile manuals and figured it out. some one apparently tried to tighten the track and the adjustment holes for the bolt that adjusts the chain tension was off one hole. i think their were about three of them. anyway ii had that beast going. this thing had a shitload of power. that tillotson hd worked really good. this thing up at the lake that is aprox 2 milles from me ,that macine pulled about 70-75 easy. this kids father had gotten rid of it and the kid was ticked off. his father paid like 275 or 300 bucks for it and got his money back. i wanted it but didnt have the money for it the seat was one of thoseats that was straight and no hump. the moto-ski zephyr 338 we had at the farm here had a broken crank on the pto side. so it needed a engine. good luck finding a 338 single hirth then. you guys out west there had probbably had most of them. the moto-ski was used for getting wood and riding when it ran. it would get hot and stall. didnt drive it far. we put a bunch of coils on it but it didnt seem to help. it probably had some kind of stator problem. those were the days when we had snow here in ny when it was as high as the telephone wires and they had to bring the oskosh snow blowing trucks up here. last year i didnt ride my indy trail because the snow would come down and litterally melt in no time. hope it stays cold and ride the dam tning. just thought i would tell you some stories when i was a kid.
This one caught my eye on marketplace and I resisted. So glad you snatched it! Now I'll get to see it in action still, and avoid all the work I don't have time to do anyway. haha. Love a spicy single, looking forward to watching its progress.
I bought a low mile RTX 440 a number of years ago, it's in line if I live long enough. I always thought Skiroule was way ahead of the industry in the styling dept when they came out with the RTX line. I have never ridden one, but, they are fairly narrow.
We had a RTX 440 growing up, me at 14 running 90 mph on the should of a hwy, the only down side was to much power to start in deep snow it would try to bury it self

Hey Nutter! Cool sled! They do come with the Sachs SS 290 👍. We used to have a guy up here that raced one and they are pretty fast!! So who’s going to ride it? Doesn’t everyone in the crew have a one lunger? lol You’re getting me and my buddies thinking of getting some old one lungers lol Cheers 🍻
It's not a Z, it's just a base Camaro. It's a sled channel :) I have another channel for cars. Nutter's Garage, I don't even know if I have anything on their about that car. Ive had it since before I started youtube.
Thanks!
Thanks Jeff!
As my good friend says “its not an addiction its a dedication”
I will have to remember that one. LOL.
That's a great score! But if i heard that right you do in fact have a problem... You still need a sled for the 340ss.
Yes!
Now you got something... 😁

Very cool!
Nice sled. I have a 1973 Skiroule RT 340. I have had it since 1979. But hasn't run since 2004. Rebuilt the Walbro carb a few times.
Very cool!

Right on. See you at the swap on Dec 7th?
I have new Goodyear belts for skiroule. I can send u a couple no problem.
That would be great Chip! I doubt you have my address any more, so e-mail me at nutterspeedshop@gmail.com.

Cool! It's green, right?
@@nuttersspeedshop 73 RTX, so it is the same design/colors as your 300, but by 73 they had the instrument pod on the handle bar.
Congrats on adding the 'rule to the fleet.. I got 2 old RTX racers projects in the queue.. ones a 340R one lunger and the other is a 650RX trip
Nice!
Those shocks on the back should be adjustable with a spanned or channel locks just like a motorcycle
Yes, I saw that.

Very cool. Was that a Kohler engine?
I believe so, it was modded, had to run 105 octane fuel in it
