I just wanted to post a quick update. Jax is doing really well. Him and our son have quite the bond which makes me so happy. He has lost all his puppy fur so he looks completely different. He's a very happy and energetic dog and we couldn't be happier that he's here with us.
+Michelle Fisher As a fellow Marine who served in peacetime (90-98), I'm always happy to see stories like this that enrich the lives of the guys who've had to endure so much during these trying times of instability in the middle east. I have so much respect for you SGT. Fisher! Also as a fellow K9 lover (I bought a truck in Texas last year and got a 'parking lot' boxer/pitt mix for $20 - best money I've ever spent), I appreciate your desire to give Jax a forever family! It's also nice to see your family on board with the idea. I wish you and yours a long, happy life together...Thank You! Season's Greetings to you and yours! I realize that My response is directed to SGT. Jacobs through you Michelle, so thank you for being my 'bridge' to him! SEMPER FI!!!
i know, can you imagine seeing ugly things, being scared, having missiles aimed where you live, having people boss you around, and then being away from your family???? a dog/puppy/kitty/ whatever to snuggle with every night-wow, there is no pill that can do that. beautiful!
Scott Ratliff why is she an idiot? Dont get it. Thankyou for your service? If this is the sort of guy the US military is sending o/s they can be very proud. This is a quality person. If this is the sort of compassion and honour he brings to his service then he should be thanked for it. Thankyou for your service Sir. This is the sort of man that should be representung the US then having lots of kids when he gets home. What an example for his son to follow. Great stuff.
I know how much a dog can mean to someone who is alone and missing home. My little buddy Dany was with me for almost 15 years. He got sick and I had to say goodbye to him 5 days later. I cried for three days then realized I was crying for me so I stopped. But I miss him every day, it's been just over three years now and I was truly blessed to have him in my life, he will always be in my heart. Dogs are a gift from God.
Sorry for your loss ❣It's painful to go through this process... It took me 20 years before I got another dog and I still have his picture on my fridge... He has a special place in my heart and always will.
After all the upsetting things I read about animals, it makes me happy to know you Danny had a happy life for 15 years and was so well loved. Don't know if this helps.
my dad went to Afghanistan in 2012. When he came home my 11 year old dog ( who was nine then) jumped onto his lap and licked him so much that my dad felt like he was having a shower. BTW we rescued him after been abused
your dad is my hero! seriously not knocking anyone who brings a puppy home from a 3rd world country, BUT for your dad to have saved an older animal...that is just plain heroic! kiss your dad from me....love to you all from over here in tx! xoxoxo
This made me cry tears of happiness! So glad Jax is finally home with his family. Our military give so much to defend and protect this great nation. Uniting a pup with a fellow Marine is a great honor. Donna Stubblefield U.S. Army Veteran Sergeant (1977-1994)
Im starting to think that the dog as a species should be formally recognised for its service to humanity. It really is a special relationship we share.
I will never get tired of these types of stories and feel so blessed to be in a country that cares not just about other human's but all living things! God Bless you all!
Poor Little chap looked so anxious and nervous and intimidated and frightened! It would be nice to see a later shot where he realizes he is safe and happy! :-)
What a beautiful dog!!! Those eyes are hypnotic. I thought he did rather well after a 16 hour flight cramped in a crate, being handled by strangers, meeting his first "little" person - he was surprisingly well behaved after all that, such a good boy. Don't forget to neuter him now that he's an American dog!! You are so fortunate to have Jax. His unconditional love is going to help you through some SERIOUS PTSD. I hear you mention "seeing some serious stuff over there" and that stuff is going to haunt you. Jax was there when you came off patrol and saw the pain, the questions, the fear you had to hide, and he never flinched or doubted you - he will be your connetion between there and here and help you make sense of it all. I am so thankful to this group for being there for you and Jax and helping you get him home!! so happy for you.
I brought two dogs to the US from India and I can tell you this: they were worth every penny, every late night, every bit of heartburn, and every dang form I had to fill out. We lost Rex a couple years ago. It was a devastating blow. We had him cremated and he will be with me forever. Emma's still hanging in there even with having only 3 legs (and all 3 have issues) plus epilepsy... she's still doing okay. She's such a strong-willed dog, and so dang sweet. I miss Rex, but I don't think we can replace him. When we eventually lose Emma, we will probably find a couple more dogs from some other far flung place. ;)
So wonderful for that lucky dog who's been through so much, as all the rest of them have too...I hope all those dogs were spoken for by someone good and brought home too. I also wonder what the military does with those trapped wild animals on the bases...hope they turn them loose elsewhere, not kill them. Our wars aren't their faults. Thanks for sharing this great homecoming and reunion.
Wow, I had no idea of SPCA and all they were doing! I can imagine how much having a pup around while away from home, helped you, and then to be able to have a part of that experience back with you state side,...wow. Your son seems to really love him too. What a wonderful thing, wonderful story.
He was something "normal" in an "abnormal" world you were in temporarily! That young pup traveled far and long hours to "come home" to the one who cared and still cares! May he be a treasured member of your lovely family! TY for your service and Jax's too--just doing for you what dogs do best for us-- be a type of sanity! Blessings!
You can see the dog is unsure (look at the eyes)& then he warms up& you can see the dog realizes he is going to his forever home and the beginning of relaxing
I am so happy you have him home, he looks beautiful and when he gave you that first kiss it brought tears to me. You are such a hero in my eye, not only for your service but for saving this pup and making him a member of your family. Your family is beautiful and I wish you all the best. God Bless🙏🏻🙋♀️
Love this kind of love that you shown to a homeless puppy in Afghanistan and take care of him and finally flew him home reunite with you and family, what's a love ❤, good on Jax having a lovely home and living in a beautiful country, God bless you all , Thank you Michelle Fisher double 👍 👍 for you
So NICE, both for our soldier AND the dog. Looks like she'll be a good little buddy for his little boy, too! I love happy endings. THANK YOU for having such a wonderful program. Our troops deserve the best for keeping our country safe. God bless them all.
Thank you for the work you do, finding pups and the soldiers they helped. It's healing just to see they getting back together. Funny how healing can work that way. Sometimes even without war, life take a toll on folks. Pupdogs and cats seem to have a talent for drawing people out of darkness. Messengers from God, I calls'em.
Good for you, dude you did the right thing. This dog knows you saved him from a life of war, abuse and starvation. You have a friend for life!!! Do you believe in karma? Heartwarming video. Thanks for sharing it. There are still good people in this world!! P.s. America thanks you for your service!
May God bless all of you. God does not make mistakes. These animals ask for so little most importantly love and they give so much more. All my life I have had dogs around me. You have a friend in your dog through thick and thin. Even when you have a bad day they still love you. God knew what he was doing when he made animals especially dogs to show us how to love unconditionally. Thanks for serving us so bravely. God bless you and yours for generations to come. 🥰🙏☝️👏
How can anyone give s thumbs down this is s an exciting happy time fir this dog and new family. I loved it . Lord please forgive the thumbs down jerks we more if these stories and less politics

You are just a wonderful human being, your heart is as big as the universe, A REAL HERO. God bless you and your beautiful family, in time you will see the rewards of your kindness, I was in the military as well, but I cry when our loyal companions our four legged companions are mistreated, they deserve love and respect and care.
what a great story! he's a great dog! and what a great kid!!! I'm not surprised they bonded so well. and mom, you said you never had a dog before, we'll after having, loving and caring for this amazing dog, I'm thinking your can't picture life WITHOUT him.

Yay!!
+PAWsitive What happened to the other puppy with Jax & the mother dog?
There's a powerful medicine for soldiers coming home bearing the scars of war. That medicine has a loving heart, four paws and a wet nose.
mightymissk my dog's nose isn't wet.... does he hate me?
yes, because you are stupid!
i know, can you imagine seeing ugly things, being scared, having missiles aimed where you live, having people boss you around, and then being away from your family???? a dog/puppy/kitty/ whatever to snuggle with every night-wow, there is no pill that can do that. beautiful!
mightymissk Marine, not soldier.
Well said.
Thank you for your service, thank you for rescuing this puppy and thank you for being a good dad
I agree
Unless you own an oil or weapons company, why would you thank him for his service?
Sarah Rosered your an idiot shut up
Roland.scullin screw you pal
Scott Ratliff why is she an idiot? Dont get it.
Thankyou for your service?

What an example for his son to follow. Great stuff.
This poor dog is lost. Travelling by plane, arriving in a country with millions of new smells. Let him some time, he's lovable.
HE IS GORGEOUS. THANK YOU FOR SAVING HIM

Donna Boyd we all need to be loved , just as much for peoples as for doggies So special and precious.

Thank you for what you’ve done for all of us. I’m so happy Jax is finally home with you. I pray the other pups also found good homes.🙏🏻🇺🇸
Amen ☁️🎺👼💒🙏🌹✨
Only in the land of the free and home of the brave. Thanks for both of your services, Jacks included.
Dogs and cats that have been brought home from shelters never forget that it was you who saved them. They remember, somehow, someway ...
With their hearts.
With their hipocampus
@@foopo5004 I'll take your word for it, foopo. I like your avatar- thingy. Looks like mine, but different.
The dog looked like he was crying because he was so happy and it made me cry 😭
I'm so glad the little guy made it here too.
First, thank you and your family for serving our country. Now, you are a WONDERFUL FAMILY OF FOUR!
Im starting to think that the dog as a species should be formally recognised for its service to humanity. It really is a special relationship we share.
That is why I love animals they keep you hanging on
I will never get tired of these types of stories and feel so blessed to be in a country that cares not just about other human's but all living things! God Bless you all!
