Great review, was waiting for that one. R01 is allmoust double the price of the other motherboards in Poland. That's more than half of a new N6. Also was wondering how IT will work as a standalone Dac for a stationery setup, lacking the line out, and again You answered. Thanks 🙂
N6ii r01 sound is middle of lp6ti and p6pro. Nice sound. Cons are bad wifi 2g/5g signal compared to rivals. Bit slow UI. No line out. Except these it is awesome portable dap
I have the Chord TT 2 (recent purchase) and also ye olde Audio-GD Master 7 R2R (PCM1704) DAC and Master 9 headphone amp. I much prefer the R2R sound with Sony Z1R and Final D8000 Pro headphones. So much so, I have cleared a ton of space from my home office desk to accommodate the bulky Audio-GD gear, because that's the location where I do most headphone listening. The TT 2 is (unexpectedly) now in the main HiFi system!
I don't use a DAP, though I'd like to see a portable R2R amp that could compete with stuff like the Hip DAC, BTR5, 5K etc
That's coming from Cayin later this year.
There is the Tento PortaDAC2, might want to look into that.
The Final A8000 has one of the finest treble I've ever heard but I finally went for the more punchy Legend X SE...
I felt like I preferred this combo over ifi idsd signature. But the signature is under the portable category.
Can you make a video explaining the poor measurements of Audio-Gd products and how it actually sounds? ASR really has something against audio-Gd
It's very easy to screw up measurements, either deliberately or unintentionally. AtomicBob has posted about this on various forums. Note whenever you see posted measurements where full details of how they were obtained are not disclosed. Also, for any genuine scientific experiment to be valid, the results have to be duplicated independently. For example, when Amir originally measured the Schiit Yggdrasil, 4 other people couldn't duplicate the results he got.
This was one of the hardest watch for me, it's boring to listen a review while looking at the same box during entire review.. but anyway thanks :)

would you consider shooting a video about DAP's for running use? like the Fiio's or Sandisk, or perhaps another brand with a small pricetag?
Ibasso MAX amps are so powerful(2A) that they can drive my lcd-xc planars with EQ and behaves really well. (The non max dx300 w/ amp11mkii also has 2.7A! But I wouldn't take that to max volume)
Dx300 max has streaming noise issue, especially Tidal Mqa and usb-dac mode. Local playing is superb but they need to be fixed that noise issue. Anyway sound is awesome.

Audio Dream Diaboli, Final A8000, DITA Dream XLS and Campfire Audio Ara (with FiiO LC-RE cable) were in the box, either in the video or picture.

If you are just using the DAP for playing music, and don't mind that it's slow relative to a smart phone. The sound is lovely. One alternative you can try is the RU6 R2R dongle DAC, especially if you're only using IEMs.
@@Currawong how close does the RU6 get compare to R01?
Search for "R01" in the RU6 thread on Head-Fi. I didn't have both here at the same time to compare unfortunately.
