In Irish folklore, the Sí (fairies) use fairy circles as dancing rings at night. If you see one you should never step in it or you'll become trapped in the fairy dance forever. We also have fairy forts, which are raised mounds of earth where grass and plants grow thicker and darker than the surrounding areas. Animals avoid them and it's bad luck to enter one. If you have to you're supposed to leave a gift for the fairies to thank them for allowing you safe passage across their lands. There's also fairy trees, which grow out on their own far away from anything else. These are where fairies live in this world and it's believed that the King of the fairies travels from tree to tree across the country
MineriS LTU or what if......the aliens were from the future like you say but they were from a timeline where we all became faries and then died cause we lost the ability to contain our nipples and thus we could no longer use mass transit and died off from starvation, so the aliens came back to help us by killing the first fairies that came about so they couldn't mate and create more fairies, but the time machine malfunctioned due to fairy ....sperm.....cause its magic I geuss or something....and then they appear in our time as ghosts and the lights are actually alien temporal forcefields that hold the fairy ghost things in so they don't reform.
Not to be racist but you do kinda look like Jackie Chan. I've heard people call random east Asians that they look like Jackie Chan when they really didn't but you actually look like his little brother or something.
Kenny Spillman I tried to make it as least offensive as possible because 2015 was the year of being butthurt over any comment. It's not really if someone told me I looked like some black actor I wouldn't mind. Of course it couldn't be someone who looks nothing like me like will Smith or Chris rock
Those fairy circles seem to follow the pattern of underground fungus. Perhaps when the fungus dies, the flowers feed off of the dead fungus as fertilizer,
Good insight. Genetical and bacteria analysis would help if that were something of provocation? Soil samples and plant analysis should be a fairly easy process of elimination. Yet supposedly unexplained .....
bloodandwinearered I think it's actually the opposite: The fungus "conditions" the soil before the fruiting bodies show up. This also allows other plants to grow nicely. Some fungi might then kill off the other plants later and that's why the circles are empty.
Pretty sure this "mystery" isn't actually a mystery at all, unless Mike and I are talking about two different things: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairy_ring

I think Spontaneous combustion is a limited chemical reaction. That would account for an ignition with limited heat eminations. I used to think it was a nuclear reaction, but I haven't heard of any radiation being detected at those sites. It is interesting to note, that in all but a few cases the victems feet remain intact and unaffected. Also that yes, most victims had smoked an hour prior to the ignition. There has only been one survivor of combustion, whom put himself out . I frequently joke that it is one of the hidden side effects of those drugs they sell on T.V.: "do not take if you also take nitrates for chest pain, as this may cause an unsafe drop in blood pressure. Do not take if you are nursing, pregnant, or trying to become pregnant. In some rare cases, this drug has been known to cause fever, nausea, cessation of all bodily functions, irregular electromagnetic activity, spontaneous combustion, and even global annihilation. Please ask your doctor if this is right for you." LOL
+James L but what kind of fire burns only the victim but doesnt catch the couch on fire? especially since it has to burn so hot to turn bone to ash. weird stuff
+James L Both you guys look it up. It's called the Wicking-effect. it has been duplicated with pig cadavers to perfection. It's no longer a mystery. It's been solved and completely understood. The Human Fat acts like Wax and the clothing acts like a wick. That is why extremities like the feet and hands with little fat and no cloth covering don't burn. Only the surface of he victim burns as the clothing draws the wax/fat up to the surface, thus preventing the surrounding area, or even the bed the person is laying in from catching fire. This explanation is years old at this point. Look it up.
+Master Volume I have heard this before and seen it on CSI, but I haven't seen any bodies left from SHC with hands in tact, only feet, socks and shoes ?

Dulkidul Makdulsup That is foolish. It was caused by an angel bringing back a righteous man from the depths of hell. I'm sorry. I had to bring up supernatural >_
Ragnn Grmann Yeah, I saw a show some years back where studies were done in the area and like you said, with explosives... They concluded that it was an asteroid or a small comet that burst in the air, answering the question of why all the destruction and no crater.
The spantanious combustion thing isn't all that surprising, there are legit chemicals in the body, that if mixed, can create a combustion, pretty sure I read that somewhere.
+Jordan Smith the forensic evidence led one person to theorize that shc is a kind of nuclear/atomic reaction inside the body...the book "ablaze!" is the definitive work on the subject and a fascinating read (with illustrations).

fairy circles these commonly appear on soil that is poor in nutrients in relative dry environment so.. you start of with a grass plant growing bigger in size then when the nutrients in the middle is depleted the middle part simply dies off leaving a hole surrounded by a circle of grass quite simple really
+Fabricio Quinones Did you misspell that on purpose to be hilariously moronic? Like a parody of a complete imbecile jealous that someone else actually knows something?
The thing I find really sad about this video is that most of these "mysteries" have, in fact been explained. The truth is, there are a great many REAL scientific mysteries that are a lot more interesting, such as, where is most of the gravity making stuff in the universe? Why is the universe expanding faster and faster? This is really really weird. Imagine a batter hits a pop fly ball it goes up and up and up, slowing down as it gets higher and higher, exactly as anyone would expect, then just before it stops going up it suddenly starts going faster again, pretty soon it's going really fast UP.. There are so many really interesting things you can explore about the world without resorting to paranormal nonsense.
Eric Taylor I'd be interested to know which one's amongst these have been explained correctly. Not just people's opinions. There have been no adequate explanations for SHC,. Nor for the Marfa, the Hessdalen and many other curious lights, even with significant study. The earthquake lights, red sprites and blue jets are only relatively recently described and although there's some interesting ideas about them, nobody again, has adequately explain what they are. There's lots and lots of anomolous and curious "mysteries" in this world and yes, I agree we do need to look at all of them but hey, maybe he chose these one's because they're easy to follow up on. The universe expansion is a fascinating one, just as the movement of one small area that seems to be pulling to one particular position. Some have theorised it's a parallel universe/another dimension causing this effect. Clearly you love this stuff as much as I do.
Sue Mead It really depends on what you consider "adequate scientific explanation". Is it really not adequate, or is it just an expiation you don't like?
Eric Taylor Fair question Eric but no, that's not the point. It is an explanation or theory that has been born of rigorous study, within the rules of the scientific method. I'm always open to having my mind changed but someone's opinion, whilst interesting, is not proof of anything.

A well-researched hypothesis of the reason for the Tunguska event is that it was a large meteor made entirely of ice (not the least bit uncommon in our solar system) and that is why there is no crater.
+3VILmonkey if it was entirely made of ice it should have melted as alot of heat is produced due to friction! and how can a ball of ice produce so much heat and energy? (these are actual questions as i am curious and are not to bash the theory)
+Umer Ahmad I understand where your coming from and those are great questions. I don't recall all the particulars but I think the ice meteor was very large and very dense and that's why it made it through the atmosphere. Perhaps if it had been smaller, nothing would happened at all I'll look for thr hypothesis and post a link here. I mean it's just this very credentialed guy's scientific answer to thr mystery and it made a lot of sense when I heard it but I've an open mind.
+Umer Ahmad Here's the latest scientific article which supercedes the idea of an ice comet and instead blames it on a meteorite. arstechnica.com/science/2013/06/mystery-solved-meteorite-caused-tunguska-devastation/
Once my GPS took me and a couple other friends through creepy areas in southern Georgia when we were trying to find a hotel, we saw a gas station that looked like a place from a horror movie. The windows were clouded to the point you couldnt see inside and the whole place illuminated a dim blue while the surrounding areas were pitch black. We got the heck out of there before it became a murder scene or something. XD
3:30 You are a bit misinformed about the Tunguska event. It is widely accepted that the event was in fact a meteor that exploded in the air. The lake theory was put forward in the 1920s and was discredited shortly thereafter. Later is was theorized to have been an air burst and the the Chelyabinsk meteor pretty much proved it. So the Tunguska event can no longer really be called "mysterious."
Um, the fairy circles actually have been explained scientifically. The circles are consistent with the presence of symbiotic fungus that allows the grass's root system to absorb a few specific nutrients and once some of the nutrients that only the fungus needs is completely consumed, the lack of fungus will make it hard or near impossible for grass to continue to grow there... Also the perfect circles are how the mycelium of almost all fungi grow...
I found this entertaining. As for fairy circles, I've sen them in a regularly mowed lawn. They were actually blue/green in color. Analysis proved they were a variety of mold or fungus, that faded under intense sunlight. A landscaper I spoke to claimed they were natural burps from the ground releasing specific gasses that encouraged a rapid mold growth. I can see where wind blown seeds could get caught in the mold and propigate using it as a food source.
I recall, many moons ago, that someone did a study on bird migration by attaching gps chips to the birds to track their movements. Turns out, they are using the highways to navigate. That's why my car always get's bird poop on it, I guess.

Umer Ahmad YW!
The best cure for getting sleepy while driving is listening to stand up comedians.
Laughing helps keep you awake.
Don't confuse "confuses Mikey Chen" with "baffles the world's best scientists".
one of the best comedy channels ever xD

Once my GPS took me and a couple other friends through creepy areas in southern Georgia when we were trying to find a hotel,
we saw a gas station that looked like a place from a horror movie.
The windows were clouded to the point you couldnt see inside and the whole place illuminated a dim blue while the surrounding areas were pitch black.
We got the heck out of there before it became a murder scene or something. XD
If Science can't explain something it doesn't mean that it is beyond Science. It just means Science has not studied it enough.
2 advil and a redbull will keep you up, thats what truck drivers do
Gps : make a u-turn
Me: im on the highway ..
Mikey... Have you been abducted by aliens
I love it when your here shows!
i like idea of rivers gathering together and having spitting fireballs contest, pure science explanation
I knew it, scientists don't know everything, lol
Mike seems like he'd be a really fun person to hang out with
I live in Texas and every time you mention one of these things near where I live I just freak out and go "when are we moving mom?!"
peter griffins exploding cupcakes...
So the Tunguska event can no longer really be called "mysterious."
haha i thought you were kidding about the hot oil thing
And the Marfa lights... Just Skeeter , Bubba, and Dale having fun eating WAY too many beans and playing with a lighter...
The GPS hates you and I love the video and you.
Spontaneous combustion. ......obviously they were vampires ^_^
I recall, many moons ago, that someone did a study on bird migration by attaching gps chips to the birds to track their movements. Turns out, they are using the highways to navigate. That's why my car always get's bird poop on it, I guess.
