I did direct marketing in my first few years in the VO industry. I was a newbie and wasn't even aware of the term direct marketing. I didn't have much expectations back then because I just wanted to build that brand awareness and let people know about my VO service. So I was so happy even when the recipients just acknowledged my email. Few months after that, I got a reply from a client telling me that they remember my email to them and was asking if I could do the VO for their client-Lady's Choice.
See, stories like this is so encouraging and inspires me to go even harder with creating brand awareness with my VO business! Can you remember how many emails per day or per month you would send out?
Stephen Gibson. I appreciate your simplistic informative videos. I am in the early stages of entering this field so my son (we have partnered up) and I are studying the four platforms that must be continually constructed to navigate a meaningful experience. My question: As a pianist, educator, trained story teller and trainer of story tellers, mentor and athlete I understand the importance of establishing and maintaining coaching and mentoring relationships. From your experience, what are the markers one should look for to select the person who will be most influential as a coach/mentor for someone with many of the foundational communication skills needed to be successful as a voice over communicator?

@@Penelope416 Thank you! I would usually send out 10-15 emails per day!
Excellent. Thank you.
Thank you. I'm really glad you mentioned _who_ DM is for. 👍
How do you know where to send the emails? How do you know which companies to contact?
Good Morning...Lena from Redding California ☕️ 👋
