The diagram at 12:17 shows a metro line and a separate express line. The bigger issue is that the freight line is the same size as the metro line. Suppling millions of people with one train line could have some problems
To accelerate to 3 times the speed of sound in 1 second then decelerate to 0 in 1 second requires +95.6G for 1 second followed by -95.6G for 1 second (times 412 if one wished to travel from one end to the other). A young man’s game indeed I’d much rather get caught in the door
i mean... there is evidence people CAN survive that... i think there was a F1 (or other high end racing) driver that survived a crash and maxed out his accelerometer in his helmet at like 100g, guy went from 200 mph to 0 in like 6 feet.

They could just run a whole heap of separate lines you could just catch a train to the nearest major station take the lift to whatever train line you need to go to to get to where you need to go and then catch that train, they could have a maglev vacuum train for the longer runs, if they all stop at one end or the other they could just put some breake away glass or something for if there was a leak at the other end so any pods pushed out at the speed of sound by the inrushing air could shoot harmlessly off into the desert, it would save on having all the emergency hatches etc which would inevitably leak and require a lot of energy to continuously pump down the vacuum.
"Getting on and off the hyperloop within that two second window is a young man's game. You have to be in the prime of life to be able to handle the G forces as it accelerates to Mach 3 and then slows to a full halt 412 times in a single 20-minute journey. It's not really for me either." 🤣🤣🤣

In 1999 I met a former RAF officer who was working at a British Aerospace maintenance facility in Saudi Arabia. He held their military pilots in high regard, but his employees at the facility were another matter. As he put it “Everyone there wants to be a manager. And when you become a manager, what does that mean? You sit in your office most of the day and drink tea with your friends”.
I love the idea.... This is a acid induced hallucination rite? Or can I actually get laid to say this can be built? I have an awesome bridge for sale that'll work very good for this place.
Actually this system already exists between Beijing and Tianjin for 20 years. The fastest train is 20min end to end, but there are hundreds of slower trains that stop more or less often along the way.
@@ansatsusha8660 for the people who have never heard of Europe, China, Japan, or Korea. You take the high speed train to travel 130km in 20min, then you transfer to a mid speed train to travel 15km in 10 min, then 5min metro to your apartment above the subway station. Yes the trains do depart every 10min so you will have 5min transfer on average. And yes, Egypt is also building high speed rail along its 1100km linear city, the Nile, right now.
@@DominikPlaylists So the system described by Saudi Arabia does not exist. They state they're going to build a train going faster than all other current trains, even if you assume no stops. I understand how there are local, slower trains and high speed trains for long distances.
@@DominikPlaylists and if there say even 5 stops, this would take up probably 2 min and require extra time for acceleration, making it even more infeasible. Remember, this is supposedly over 170 km, not just 130.
I also like how nobody is talking about the maitenance costs and the gigantic workforce that would be required to just keep such infrastructure not collapsing after just a decade of existence. High temperature variation in a desert (night and day) and metallic structures, sand and wind, is going to age that thing like fine milk.
I shed a bucket of tears laughing at "getting in the hyperloop in just 2 seconds to be accelerated to mach 3 speed before it slams the brakes for the next stop is a young mans game..."🤣
I think it was obvious it would fail but I was hoping they’d at least try it just to give the world a perfect capitalist science fiction dystopian city to watch from afar.
Clearly the script written by someone who has never seen a functioning rail network. New York City subway launched local and express trains along the same route in 1939. And Shanghai-Beijing line sometimes makes only 2 stops over a 1300km distance. Actually building a 170km straight line train with pre-existing right of way is shockingly cheap.
It is astonishing to see that so many people in comment section have misunderstood the intention of the video, and assign it some comic value, even though Patrick clearly states that he absolutely loves the idea and recognizes its magnificence.

It's what undermines the power of tyrants from within, it helped take down the Soviet Union, it also brought an end to the Victorian Era.
It's also what will take down the Marxists/Zionist in control of the Western World today, why do you think they attack comedians and censor the internet/social media for?.

This man is amazing. His ability to do this video with a straight face and not having a video cut every three seconds is amazing.

I just found this channel and am blown away it’s the first time seeing him. he’s so fucking funny and well spoken and I actually learned something??? sold
My husband do the same..talk and talk and talk🤣
his ability to not blink even though his eyes are forcefully wide open is also impressive
lol right?
There are many things that science cannot explain in this video, but by far the most unexplainable is how Patrick managed the entire video without breaking in histerical laughter.
A ton of practice and multiple takes, no doubt. The result is definitely worth it!
Years of practice!!!

A young man’s game indeed
I’d much rather get caught in the door
i mean... there is evidence people CAN survive that... i think there was a F1 (or other high end racing) driver that survived a crash and maxed out his accelerometer in his helmet at like 100g, guy went from 200 mph to 0 in like 6 feet.

I lost it when he was describing how the trains would have to run in order to meet their promise of traveling the whole city in 20 min. Pure comedy gold! 😂😂😂
It is the most hilarious thing I watched in a while
"It would take 206 minutes, which is *a bit* more than 20" I lost it at that 🤣
"Getting on and off the hyperloop within that two second window is a young man's game. You have to be in the prime of life to be able to handle the G forces as it accelerates to Mach 3 and then slows to a full halt 412 times in a single 20-minute journey. It's not really for me either." 🤣🤣🤣

What to they care about climate change? Going from 130 Farenheit to 140 is not much of a difference. And they'd love to have some of the sand covered by the rising seas.
C'est une façon très britannique de dire que ces gens sont des crétins paresseux.

Actually this system already exists between Beijing and Tianjin for 20 years. The fastest train is 20min end to end, but there are hundreds of slower trains that stop more or less often along the way.
@@DominikPlaylistsThey only stop for 2 seconds? Sounds safe

"Gigantic workforce" they have plenty of slaves...
They will have robots take care of maintenance, including maintaining the robots.
@@BarryHolsinger It's robots all the way down

I think it was obvious it would fail but I was hoping they’d at least try it just to give the world a perfect capitalist science fiction dystopian city to watch from afar.

Literally 2 seconds to get on or off a Mach 3 train is the best part of this video and a GREAT IDEA.
You could add razor-sharp edges to the doors to stop people clagging them up ;)
It is actually the DUMBEST argument against the line, I’m afraid.
Clearly the script written by someone who has never seen a functioning rail network. New York City subway launched local and express trains along the same route in 1939. And Shanghai-Beijing line sometimes makes only 2 stops over a 1300km distance. Actually building a 170km straight line train with pre-existing right of way is shockingly cheap.
yeah... and the problem is so easy to see and to calculate. Says a lot about the quality of our leadership nowadays. Total degeneration.
Reminds me of a machine-gun...
It is astonishing to see that so many people in comment section have misunderstood the intention of the video, and assign it some comic value, even though Patrick clearly states that he absolutely loves the idea and recognizes its magnificence.
That's just the cynical world we live in It's attitudes lack that, that stopped Space X getting to Mars already and X becoming the "everything app".
