Actually he didn’t treat his daughters like crap at all. They were given generous amounts of money, property, and the best tutors available. Where are you getting that they were treated like crap from? If it’s bc he didn’t make them princesses, well that’s the most important lesson a father can teach his daughter. That she’s not a princess, life isn’t a fantasy land…
So true. Even if you got a will....family can still do what they want. Happened to my grandmother who wanted to be cremated, but was buried instead. What a shame.
Henry VIII was a terrible man who was responsible for the death of two of his wives, Thousands of deaths and much stress in his time! So the fact that his burial was this way seems to be the worlds way of sticking it to him in death
Its insane to me, how Henry changed the world of religion in a good amount of countries. His actions led a domino effect in history. All for a relationship, even though behind closed doors still went to mass and practiced Catholicism. It just blows my mind. What a narcissistic, unreal character in history.
Henry was a vicious, cruel man who was responsible for over 30,000 deaths during his reign of terror. He was laid in an unmarked grave for over two hundred years and was reburied in a simple plot, with other members of the Royal family. How it must have galled his murderous soul, not to look upon the glorious tomb he planned for himself.
@fabianwylie8707 he is of the most famous monarchs in world history. I wouldn't say he was forgotten in any way, shape or form regardless of monuments. Plus we all know that Nelson's sarcophagus at St Paul's is Henry's so technically his tomb is on show to the public...he is just not in it
7:53 "Mary 1 had little interest" Well this not so surprising as Bloody Henry 8 was far from a good father to her. Let's see... He refused to allow her to visist her mother, Catherine of Aragon He made himself pope and got a divorce He forced her to sign that the marriage was not legitimate He abused her( though more like mentally) He left her to take care of her younger siblings He locked her up He did not allowed her to go to her mother's funeral He did not care much about her illness and took care of her sickness in a lousy way. He just left her to deal with her own mental illness and gave her so much mental stress that it made her look even older than she is when she was queen. NO WONDER she did not care about giving him the tomb he wanted. The care she gave him was how he had treated him!!!!!!!!!
They didn’t have HFCS or junk things that lead to an increase in visceral fat. So he wouldn’t have looked like morbidly obese people you find today. Rather, he would have been as large as a sumo wrestler. His armor from his later years bear out that he had the stature of a sumo wrestler. Those guys get big bc they eat a lot of food, but it’s still natural foods and not processed junk…
He should not be celebrated with that big plague inside the chapel. He was a terrible adultrier husband and murder. It's like he is celebrated as everyone will always have to remember him.
You have to laugh at the clowns in the comments on their thrones of modern-day virtue, passing judgement on a Tudor King who lived in a brutal age of conquer or be conquered... not that these betas would survive a week in that period, of course.
It seems appropriate that he never got the ostentatious tomb that he wanted....many of his victims had unmarked graves.
It's absolutely appropriate. Just like it's appropriate that he's remembered for being a tyrant instead of the beloved King he though he was.

Henry VIII was an absolutely amoral individual. He most likely didn't believe in anything but himself. He got better than what he deserved.
I love the fact that he treated his daughters like crap and obsessed over a male heir but his daughters that brought his family to prominence.

Just goes to show you can plan all you want, but you get what your successors give you.

Considering how he ended 72 thousand lives, it's a lot that he has a tomb and a vault. He was merciless and too selfish.
Henry VIII received some karma.

@@karendavis163 Karma truly is a bitch, Even to powerful men like Henry
I can imagine it wasn't a priority for either of his daughters, considering how he treated their mothers.

The world of religion was changing and would have fractured with or without Henry breaking off from the Catholic Church…
He was such a narcissist. So interesting thank you!
Henry certainly had very high thoughts about himself.....
Great 👌 content and beautifully presented thank you for the time and effort you put into making these great videos

Súhlasím 👍👍.Ja viem,že hlavne po štyridsiatke mal dokopy na svedomí cca 72 000 popráv.Chorý človek a ťažký narcista.

I'm sure Henry had some explaining to do at the pearly gates. He may have taken the Hell express with all the blood on his hands.
I don't think he even made it to the gates to speak.
The moral of this story is don't divorce and execute your children's mothers if you want a fancy tomb.
Actually, the moral of the story is don’t devalue your nations currency by overspending (ie. Inflation). Sounds familiar doesn’t it?
Soo if this guy was overweight n super big, what was his coffin ⚰️ like or made of? It’s a mind boggling image of how his ceremony happened.

The plans for the elaborate tomb seem overdone and gaudy. Probably better that it never materialized.

I’m sure when he died, everyone breathed a sigh of relief….He was evil personified!!!!
His legitimate line died out, and the House of Windsor is descended from his sister Margaret Tudor, Queen of Scotland.
If its unremarkable, why remark on it
I love Henry VIII
Selena a prečo ho miluješ?😅.Máš šťastie,že si nežila v jeho dobe a nebola jeho manželkou.Možno by si už nemala hlavu na krku..😉😉

None of us would survive. Times were so different. But it was still his fault he didn't get a son. Its up to men whether they get a boy not women lol.
