- In this video I would like to share with you a Fig Marmalade recipe that I used to make when I was in Orsara di Puglia. In my city we have an abundance of figs, so we would always make a fig marmalade. For this recipe you will needs figs, water and sugar.
It’s a great recipe, I made it for the second time today with over 10 lbs of figs from my trees. It’s a long cook, but so worth it. I highly recommend it.
Italian people LOVE Figs ! I had some Italian neighbors when I was a kid in New Orleans.
They were the nicest people in the world, but don't touch Grandma's Fig Tree !
I love that the fig tree came from Italy; makes it all the more lucious !
Your video is music to my ears. I grew up in south Mississippi next door to the most stern, gracious, elegant, and beautiful Italian lady from Trieste, Italy. Her daughter and I are best friends to this very day,and I still see them both about once a year. Her accent is a little heavier but still so very beautiful to me. She is in her mid 90's now. She came here after the war with her husband. As a teenager, I knew that when I could no longer understand her English that we were in deep trouble. Thank you for the remembrance..
Nice !!!!
In California we had Fig trees in Fresno and made jam. It's delicious!! Thank you for sharing. ❣
Oh mon Dieu! Thank you Sigñore Pasquale, this brings great childhood memories visiting my grandparents in Peru many summer vacations. I would sit under the gigantic tree eating Figs straight from the tree, no washing either!! 😂😂 Sooo good!! Now I grow my own fig tree waiting on my first figs and reminiscing!!! 🤗🍷❤ molto bene!!
Dear Pasquale I also watch all your recipes. I am from the rep. de Suriname a country in South America. Thank you for sharing.
Such a great video and a great recipe for fig jam. Thank you :)
Bravo Chef Pascale. I have the black fig tree from Greece in my backyard and my father has the green fig tree from Italy. Come August/September we will pick from both trees and try your recepie.
I have been looking for this specific recipe for so long! Using my grandparents figs. 🧡 Thank you for sharing!!
Grazie Orsara
Every time I make fig jam, I follow your recipe ❤
I really enjoyed this video. I adore figs and my neighbors let me take as many as I want from their tree. What I like most about this recipe is that is so simple. Most other Fig Marmalade Recipes are so complicated. I will try making it following this recipe and let you know how it came out. Thank you.
Oh that looks delicious it’s wonderful to have such healthy productive trees, thank you for your recipe.
More than anything I love your accent, and the way you talk
Your fig trees are amazing .......I love them

This my favorite fruit, love this marmalade! The trees are so healthy. Looks so yummy!
Your trees look very healthy! Oh I wish I could taste those fresh figs.

Dear Pasquale, Bravo.your cooking is very harmonious. It makes me clam and happy.
Amazing!!! I will make this.
I love & believe an Italian guy putting up Figs. They KNOW about Figs, Olives, Lemons, Oranges & you name it....Italians know their foods.
Yes, will make some: very simple and yes again I enjoy this video!
I'm so jealous! We used to have a fig tree, but in our area we have a problem with the insect we call fruit fly that made it impossible to eat the fruit. In any case, your video was very informative! Thank you ...
Amazing you are one of my favorite chefs! :)

Chef Orsara, I recently got into the world of figs and found ur channel (subscribed of course) looking for a fig pizza recipe and led me to Fig Marmalade recipe. I must ask, what type of fig trees do u have in ur yard?
Thxs. The recipe looks great. Without lemon. I am allergic to lemon . Thxs chef.
A few years ago in my front yard a fig tree started to grow and no one in my house likes figs. But I'm going to try your recipe
Love the video.
You really should put up the recipe somewhere so we know the exact quantities used.
@Nadine Blake very rude.
Hi, my question is can I do the marmalade without sugar? Only water and figs? And for how long will stay the marmalade outside? Thank you.
1/2 kilo of sugar is about 1.1 pounds. A little over a pound. Also, where I live fresh figs are very expensive and no where near as good as fresh figs off your tree. I envy you your figs.
Delicious!
Grazie per la tua recetta, ho troppo fichi mangiare.
Great video.
Thanks.
Excelente
"Letza fills up oneof the jar, lika this.." "Look how nice itza look" Love you, so much. Thank you.
Pasquale volevo sapere, hai mai fatto il vincotto pero' con i fichi, per fare le cartellate per Natale, spero che mi risponderai
Hey Papa Pasquale, your fig trees are awesome! Did you bring the seeds from Italy? I think Mediterranean figs are tastier than the figs we have here in the US. Your fig marmalade is lovely indeed. :)
Depend on the fig. Some US fig are just as good :)
Mi ricordo il mio Nonno in NJ aveva un fico . La involtato ne la coperte ogni inverno . Cosa fai per far li cosi piene di fici?
3 or 4 hours on stove for second day?? THANKS SO MUCH!!!
How long does this marmalade keep?
I have fig envy...my dad has a fig tree but we have to fight the birds and critters to get enough to make a fig cake!
Delicious! Wish I had a fig tree!
Don Pasquale muy bueno gracias
I wish I could get figs here. They are hard to find. Looks delicious Pasquale!!
Georgia. The stores around here don't sell them
yummmmmmmm
How does your fig tree survive in the winter?
2 hours one day and then let it rest in the fridge and then boil again for another 4 hours the next day? Is that right?
No just the first 2 and thsts it
Correct two hours one day then let it rest on the stove then boil again the next day.
@@Popeyethesailorsman no, He said to boil at both days
best
Show us how to make Fig Newtons
Yummmm....thank you ,from Australia :)
Can’t I just cook for 5 hrs in one day instead of 2 hrs & 3 hrs in the next day?
Figilicious. 😋
How come i can't find the written recipes anymore/
how old are your fig trees?
I have a black fig and a brown turkey fig in my back yard, where can I get the yellow fig tree? what is the yellow fig tree called?
Celeste, this fig is smaller than the brown turkey just as good.
Great! Dear Pasquale!
Thanks
