Very informative tutorial! Question: what does the power button do? That's the one right above the 'house/home' button. Is there a way to turn off the display but still have the unit operational? Thanks!
Thanks for the review and tutorial on the install. Because of your video, I purchased the same unit and it is working great! The only issue I am having is being able to hear my music from Spotify on the CarPlay in ALL the speakers. For some reason it is only playing in the front speakers. When I play the radio through the android section of the unit, all speakers are working and I am able to EQ the lows, miss, and highs. BUT, when I play music through the CarPlay section of the unit, the music is very flat with no EQ and it only plays through the front speakers. Have you had this same issue or do you know what I am doing wrong?
I am debating between this and an Apple CarPlay module. Once this is installed, is there an firmware update that will allow settings within the original OEM head unit to be customized? As an example, the OEM head unit has a setting where the door locks can either all open when you use the key fob or the driver door only with the key fob or the smart key on the door handle. Changing the level of the back door hatch in the cargo area can be done through the OEM head unit daytime running headlights can be turned on or off within the OEM head unit. These are just some of the major ones that I would not want to lose access to, I did run a test where I took the negative battery terminal off of the battery to see if the settings stayed how they were programmed or if they would reset and they did stay the same as they were originally programmed in the head unit. I’m wondering if you guys cannot provide access to these essential vehicle customization OEM options if we just have to set up the vehicle the way that we want prior to putting your aftermarket head unit in and hope that the settings never revert back to a factory reset, as I don’t know where that information would be stored if it’s not stored Within the OEM head unit? As an example if I have all of the door locks set to open at the same time through the OEM head unit and I put your head unit in will that setting remain or will it revert back to the factory setting of just the driver door openingwith one push of the unlock on the key fob? If all of the functions that we set up in the original head, unit will remains stored on the main computer of the vehicle. I may be OK with that, but if they could ever be wiped out while your head unit is in and the only way I would have access to change it back is to reinstall the original head unit that is just unacceptable to me as I’m locked out of way too many features on this vehicle, I think you guys need to address this publicly as everyone needs to know what they are getting themselves into and quite frankly you should create a firmware update or an app to address this issue if you don’t have an answer. Please let me know as I would like to purchase your unit, butit’s not acceptable to lose all of those features. Time is of the essence thank you for your response.

@@viabecsexpert5681 I'm having trouble with the microphone. I believe the unit is using the internal microphone which sounds really bad I think because of all the internal sounds of the engine/ac. I have the microphone plugged in and ran up to the ceiling but do I need to change a setting on the unit for it to use it?
Donde puedo hacer este cambio me interesa , nombre y dirección por favor . Mil gracias
On my car, I can't connect with the steering wheel . Please help
Does all the steering wheel control not work?
When you open the door, do you get a graphical message on screen that door is open?
Please go to setting app -- original -- door display -- turn on
Just want to verify if that canbus decoder box is connected and working.
Step 1: Please unplug and plug the canbus box and 8PIN canbus plug.
Sometimes the canbus wiring is not connected tightly.
Please check whether the SWC PIN is bent.
Note: Please turn off the car before unplugging and plugging the canbus box. otherwise, the canbus box may burn out.
Step 2: please choose another canbus option to test.
S1: connect the head unit with your Phone hotspot first.
Click Settings APP -- Factory -- password is 123456 -- Select Models.
S2: Canbus option: 03:Simple Soft --30:Toyota-- Models: 14:All New Highlander -- Config: Public
Finally, press ok to save the settings. Then the head unit will update it automatically.

I recently installed in my 2017. Is there a way to dim the screen more? I'll swipe from top down and set to min setting, but it's still way too bright. Also, if I'm set to dark mode on my phones google maps, it will display as daytime mode on the screen. Settings on viabecs display through Google maps doesn't show night mode on/off option.
Go to display -- Brightness Mode
please choose the "Night" mode.
And then adjust the brightness to test.

Worked perfect, thanks!!!!
Does it retain all of the factory functionality?
The wiring harness is compatible with factory steering wheel control, JBL AMP, Backup Camera, USB, A/C info, TPMS info.
Don't support the factory 360 camera which it need to order another harness separately.
Where can the harness be purchased?

My backup camera is working but grainy seems to be it needs resolution adjustment. I was trying to change the resolution but whats the password for that?
How did you get the backup camera to work?
Tried downloading Disney and the app said it’s not supported
The 4g lte module doesn't seem to be working on this device.
Same for me.. Have you found a fix?
Your video was very nicely done. I have a neighbor who has an android type radio from a competitor's company, and units look exactly the same from the outside. He complains the screen is to dark in direct sunlight and he is unable to pick up location radio stations clearly. How is the ViaBecs different, does it also have these same problems.
I can't guarantee that our screens don't have the same issue. We didn't test its brightness under sunlight. However, our screen offers day and night modes, and the brightness is adjustable. Moreover, our screen is QLED, resulting in more vibrant and vivid colors.
