Are you guys seriously using "working hard" as an argument against the band, which literally broke the record for the most tour dates in a year by any band ever? These guys were rejected by record labels so many times, that they had to create their own one. They were rejected, because what they create is unusual, new and at the same time, somehow manages to be classic and nostalgic. What they create is risky, might not appeal to larger audience and, therefore, might not be as commercial as songs by Little mix for example. Everything they do is a part of their soul. They are involved in creating everything, from songs and production, to videos and lightings at live shows. These guys spent years trying to break through. What they create, both instrumentally and lyrically is art and poetry of it's own, if you don't want to go through their older songs, just listen to somebody else, or loving someone and you'll get my point. I'm not saying that LM are bad or anything (their music just isn't my cup of tea, but that doesn't give me right to call them bad), I'm just trying to be happy for a band that makes soundtracks of my life and has been doing so for years, without bunch of people, who have nothing to do with The 1975, ruining this moment for us - the fans, who have been loving this band for so long now.

I think it's harder for boy bands and girl bands to win this category because the members don't play music instruments ect. so they can't be credited that much. When you compare it to bands such as 1975, Bastille, radio head etc all their members are more involved in their own production. That kinda explains why one direction, the most successful British band (in terms of sales and fame) never even won this award.
