These small appliances only use 300 watts and are great for cooking in small spaces. They are great for RV cooking, van cooking, car cooking, dorm cooking, hotel room cooking, office cooking, etc. They are small, portable, and light weight so they are easy to travel with. They are also excellent prepping gear. Since they only use 300 watts and cook very fast, they can be easily run off of a generator or solar power station.

Have you tried it with a broth-based soup like chicken noodle? The heater and a couple cans of soup would be very handy to travel with.

I have one of these that's 125 watts. I use it with in Inverter that uses my power tool batteries. It goes with me out hunting, or camping. It's more convenient than using my propane camping stove to heat water. Mine takes around 8 minutes. But I'm using it in cold fall/spring days outside.

These are always good to have for traveling too. I got one for a trip to Costa Rica where I was staying at an Eco-lodge 135 steps to my tent on the upper part of the canopy. I wasn’t going to go down and up just to have coffee, I used this.

Great video, I have got to get one of these. Thank You for all the safety information, I wouldn't have thought taking it out without unplugging even for a second would break it.

Well that is a good gadget to know. Have you done a show on your solar charger? Interested in the unit you use, and how often you need to charge it in sun.

Could this be used to heat an immersion tank at home from solar panels? 80 litre tank Heated up in 8 hours on a cloudy day is my aim but no clue what size solar panel or element needed. Any ideas?

Sorry, I don’t know about that. I would think this would be too small.

how long would it take to heat up a hot cup of coffee thats already warm or semi hot? my drip coffee maker does not make my coffee hot enough.

It should only take a few minutes but the instructions for the item says to only use it in clear liquids. so it might be OK for a black coffee I don’t know how it would be with cream and sugar.

It's hard to clean coffee and tea off them. I'd use it for water only.

You’ll have to get an adapter, some are sold with the adapter. I got one years ago for my trip to Costa Rica.

According to WHO all you need to do is keep water at 140F for 20 minutes to sterilize water.
09:39 On the usage of the metal pot, it will conduct away much of the heat due to the nature it is metal. You would be better off if you can find a larger size stoneware or plastic mug/bowl, silicone trivet (to keep heat conduction from bleeding away the energy), and use a smaller steel mug (use the ozark trail that you can buy from walmart) use it as a double boiler when cooking with it might be more efficient.
