- Dear friends,
we visited Rhodes in the last weeks during holidays. A forest fire was the reason for many military aicraft operations. We also recorded some civil aircraft movements - but most recordings are airforce aircrafts of various countries. What is your personal favorite?
BERIEV BE-200:
A very rare and special plane ist the Beriev Be-200. The Beriev Be-200 Altair is a amphibious aircraft designed and built by the Beriev Aircraft Company. Marketed as being designed for fire fighting, search and rescue, maritime patrol, cargo, and passenger transportation, it has a capacity of 12,000 litres of water, or up to 72 passengers.

Not too often that I watch aviation videos but this is pure class right the way through. Here I am in Croatia with lots of CL-415 activity going on around me, but Rhodes would be the place to be - that Be-200 is amazing. And the S-64, Ka-32, turboprops...
The degree of quality in this presentation is jaw dropping. Wonderfully professional filming with such precise framing, hard to achieve. Very well done to the guys at FRAproductions.

Klasse Video und viele schöne Fänge dabei - Daumen hoch von mir 👍😊. Durch die unterschiedlichen Positionen hat man einen schönen Überblick bekommen und die Szene ab 11:24 gefällt mir auch sehr gut auch wenn der Anlass dazu kein schöner war durch die Brände. Vielen Dank Ron! Zum Glück wurde das Feuer gut durch die Feuerwehr am Boden eingeschränkt und kontrolliert, dann konnten die Flugzeuge helfen und Brände eindämmen wenn nötig, niemand kam zu schaden das ist ja das wichtigste! Vielen Dank und Viele Grüße!

Die Qualität deiner Videos sticht einfach heraus, die Mitzieher sind wie aus einem teuren Film, selbst wenn du auf Details wie die Triebwerke eingehst. Farben und Kontrast sind auch immer herausragend und so eine tolle Ausbeute wie hier hab ich in noch keinem Spottervideo gesehen, nicht mal auf Luftfahrtmessen. :D Perfekt!

What some fantastic aircraft. The Be-200 is fascinating. Nice to see cooperation between a Russian company and a NATO air force. Interestingly patched paintwork on the Transall, doesn't look as if that's seen a paint shop for a while

Unfortunatelly, that's how all French transalls look the last couple of years. Paint seems to be an expensive commodity at Evreux Air Base 🙄

That Beriev amphibious plane is very sleek. The fuselage is as thin as one of a land based aircraft, and the engines are high up, clear of any water spray. Only the floats at the end of the wings add some mass and drag. Excellent design.

Went to the location you were at 2:35 ! Was really cool standing underneath when these whales came in to land.
