      Yeah that surgery also the reason why he didn't join the world cup team. Anyway, he still played 82 games but his minutes and training were managed in 10-11 season.

    Was a Kobe fan from the day King Kobe signed up. As an LA fan we were very lucky to have him. We could be so nonchalant about him at times. When I look back, I just see how GREAT he was and many players today pale against his agility, determination and work ethic. He is the GOAT to me and always will be.

    Another injury plagued season, yet still managed to lead his team the least to the second round of the playoffs. No excuses. Unlike the NBA so called modern players who loved to sit out a season because they just don't want to.

    The problem with this Laker team compared to the 2010 team is that they had no bench depth. They got rid of Jordan Farmar, Sasha, Ron Turiaf, and BJ Mebenga. Those guys paired with Lamar Odom and Shannon Brown gave the Lakers versatility on the 2nd unit. The 2011 bench was Steve Blake, Matt Barnes, Shannon Brown, Lamar Odom, and Luke Walton. That’s a shitty bench, no wonder why they were giving up 15 point leads. Also steve flake was a downgrade from Jordan Farmer. I don’t know what Mitch Kupcake was thinking. Had the Lakers kept the exact same unit from 2010 they would have beat Dallas. Never break up a team with good chemistry. That’s why Jordan’s Bulls were successful, they kept the same squad together.

      Yes, they got old real quick in 2010-2011 season. Unlike from 2007 to 2010, the youth movement on the 2nd unit supports the 1st unit.

    Kobe just came from three straight NBA finals two of those winning the NBA championship back to back.
    Yet somehow he still didn’t miss a step

    • @ResidentNick
      @ResidentNick 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      He wasn't the same Kobe from 02-10 this season. You can tell, even from these highlights, that he should've sat out until January after he got that knee surgery in the summer.
      Check out the Kobe from 08-10 and you'll see the difference is night and day.

    • @randomperson2540
      @randomperson2540 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @ResidentNick yea, his first step was significantly reduced, and just overall, the power jn his legs reduced heavily.
      It's why his jumper isn't as consistent or go to the line as much.
      But to me in 2011 Kobe was still the best player in the world

    • @ResidentNick
      @ResidentNick 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @randomperson2540 Agreed. I just finished watching his 2008 highlights, and man, just his movement alone and his ferocity attacking the basket was mesmerizing.
      He did regain some of his bounce back the following 2 seasons, but between the lackluster additions to the squad in terms of players and coaching, and being run to the ground, the writing was on the wall. It's a shame that Chris Paul deal fell through because we may have been talking about 6 or possibly 7 chips.

    • @randomperson2540
      @randomperson2540 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @ResidentNick yea honestly Kobe in that 08 finals wasn't that bad. It's just the Celtics defense being that great.
      Kobe tried to be a great playmaker, which he honestly did well, but LA offense just wasn't good enough due to injury inexperience and Pau just getting bullied

    • @ResidentNick
      @ResidentNick 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @randomperson2540 Honestly, those are just narratives. The reason LA lost in 08 is because they were missing Ariza and Bynum entirely. Ariza would prove to be a formidable 3 and D guy that would've relieved tremendous pressure off of Kobe in terms of guarding the Pierce and Allen duo.
      Bynum would've provided interior toughness and rebounding and would've been a big asset in terms of rebounding.
      What you saw in 2010, would've occurred in 2008 as well with a non-broken finger Kobe.

      Kobe had some pretty bad injuries the entire year. He should have gotten surgeries for them back in 2010(no regrets since they won a championship that year). But then he carried all his injuries with him into the 2010-2011 season as well. And then added some new injuries to that before the 2011 playoffs. He was basically crippled. Also didn’t help that the Laker team lost their chemistry and were getting blown out/dominated by lottery teams consistently.
      What Kobe should have done after beating Boston in 2010 is gotten all the surgeries he needed and be willing to miss a portion of the 2010-2011 season. Would have helped him in the long run!

    Kobes game was so complex once he figured the nba scene out id say after 2001 or 02. I dont get why guys like tatum nd book dont break their games down to the simple like he did since he was such an influence..? Not saying they should post up nd do turn around fades all the time but simplifying their games like his in post season over side steps and playing outside as much
