Getting this video out was a pain, but thank you for making it worth the while! Like I said, lots of abilities are subject to change but I hope I was able to teach you something new! Thanks for watching ♥
You made a slight error with the zigzagoon thing. It’s by far the best thing in the game in terms of picking up items due to its good stats, good use of covet and other moves, along with both pickpocket and pickup. It is near guaranteed to take atleast one item and can help out other pokemon greatly. It can pick up silk scarfs and boost fake out mienshao. I got a mienshao and it killed the rival’s boss rayquaza in 3 fake outs. It is unbeatable in terms of free items and can do a surprising amount of damage. People think it’s bad just because starters and other stuff have higher stats but linoone has a very low starter cost and a lot of power. Don’t disrespect my boy linoone like that.
Question: do wild pokemon you catch for which you have unlocked their passive have the passive ability, or do they only have the passive if you start out with them?
At first when I saw you playing this game like nonstop for about a week, I was thinking "wow, bro is sweating the game". But now after I tried it, I'm addicted. Thank you for introducing this game to me. I was running out of good rom hacks to play (I've replayed Radical Red so many times).

worth mentioning wind rider is a blizzard immunity, which can be important if you are in a snow area where they are spamming it. icy wind is also a useful immunity for doubles
That's a pretty useful guide, though I must say, the meta shifts *completely* in endless past 2.3k or so, basically - everything 1 shots you, and damaging moves become obsolete, the only way to damage enemies back is by doing some sneaky tactics like low speed metal burst or stored power. Also enemies become pretty much immune to status and they spam so many berries that Unnerve and Sturdy become OP. It'll be interesting to see you cover lategame endless meta.
A good ability for endless is prankster. I started the run with prankster klefki and the ability to splice moves like soak onto it, is amazing. It cuts down waiting time for killing eternatus and salt cure, helps with killing bosses/getting rid of stab damage.
Wait, there's already a PokeRogue wiki for each of the Dynamax/G-Max Pokémon's BST already? and No Guard is finally implemented?? this has been a very informative video, thank you so much Callum!
Magician klefki is very funny to use. At some point, your team will steal so many berries and lucky eggs that your pokemon become swole. Also, as it's a steel fairy type, it completely walls eternatus in endless mode and also stage 1 eternatus in classic. The only downside is that it's a hidden ability and so is pretty hard to get.
listening while grinding out the shiny weekend and eating some cherry tomatoes, great analysis and very helpful for giving a vague idea of every mons passive, thanks for this cal
I'm just watching this now, and hearing "hail isnt a thing anymore" not long after I face a pokemon in this game use metronome and call hail, which actually spawned hail, making my pokemon take damage over time is WILD
I clicked on this video without checking the length. I thought you were going to run through the starter Pokemon. And then you said "Caterpie" and I was like huh that's weird. Checked the length -- you're a madman
Hydration on kyogre is actually way better than leaf guard on groudon because with hydration kyogre can use rest to heal to full, then wake up at the end of the turn. Meanwhile groudon's leaf guard prevents rest from being used at all. I think being able to freely rest to full brings kyogre out of situational and into hilariously over powered, especially with how much you were valuing regenerator and other longevity improving abilities like triage.
Gohldengo with superluck is strong af, make it rain ignoring its stat drops and doing 1.5× damage, expecially with the way the ai liked to get the bonus affects.
Currently right now Deino’s passive is parental bond which isn’t implemented yet but it is hella OP considering how hard hydreigon hits with its special attacking moves
i just started and have verryyyy limited options, but i had a jolly skarmory, and a moxie quaxly, and at the start of a run i got the fusion item and fused them, it gave such a good bulky sweeper with moxie and only had 3 weaknesses, built my team around it and made it to 145, which is my best run and im proud damnit.
Caterpie: Magician is i hit you and steal your item but Sneasel's hidden ability (pickpocket) is you hit me i steal your item (which is what you said for magician) pair caterpie with multi-lens and you could maybe? steal more items as for filter/solid rock combo, i'd imagine it reduces by a quarter from one ability, then reduces that multiplier by the other quarter, so standard supereffective would be 1.125, and double (which is normally 4x) would be 2.25
I feel like stun spore is better than sleep powder. They can't get unparalyzed sleep isn't consistent. Even if they aren't full Para the speed cut is enough to cripple them.

Ngl, I'm not a fan of the Oddish slander. Got a shiny one pretty early and that thing CONSISTENTLY saves runs for me. Giga Drain, Moonblast, Quiver Dance, and Strength Sap for early game actually make Bellossom pretty clutch. Lingering Aroma definitely isn't great, but both Bellossom and Vileplume can tank some physical hits with proper investment. I'd say it's situational because there's definitely some times where getting rid of an ability can be really good.
Once I saw Drilbur with sand stream I knew I had to start working on grinding it out. Sand stream + sand rush on Excadrill just seems like one of the most powerful things to ever exist
I'm not super knowledgeable on abilities and Stat strengths, I don't play the hard roms. I am Addicted to this game though so this helps me out a Ton particularly because you're explaining Why these are good with each mon, dearly appreciated
37:34 So uh, currently in endless, biomes can just randomly change after a battle, which causes you to withdraw your Pokémon, so it's better in Classic than Endless, cause biome switches happen so unbelievably often in Endless
It's amazing you went through all of this. I hope in the future that there's a tier list with only the first stage pokemon of each species. The exceptions can be the branching evolutions where it's the final forms instead.
Halfway through the video pretty good so far the videos well done and some of the passives are pretty good. Only one minor nitpick because it’s on of my favourite Pokémon why are they trying to make mawile and tinkaton so similar, I know they’re already similar but they could’ve made mawiles passive something to help when you haven’t found the mega stone yet like strong jaw or something. Rants over I honestly really like your content cal and pokerogue can be pretty fun, addictive and frustrating so I just wanted to say thank you cal for great content and introducing me to a lot of fangames😊
Combee is actually fairly decent in Classic. Bulky, King's Shield, Defend Order, Roost, Mystical Fire, and Queenly Majesty allow it to really wall random floors once it evolves.
Kartana cloyster fusion with skill link and icicle crash as well as rock blast. Currently on floor 1577. Also therian lando and mega metagross fusion hits HARD with tough claws
I was waiting to see where Keldo was ranked and things must have changed, because now his passive is the (more insane in my opinion) grim neigh. With its egg moves, its insane
Combee is my only shiny and now i love Vespiquen, king's shield as an egg move, defend order, roost, and strugglebug/infestation have helped with both catching more mons without one shotting them and stalling out mons that i don't have a solid answer for (she got rayquaza to minus 6 for me). She has bulk similar to Spiritomb, be it with a much worse typing, with healing and def/spdef buffing. She has been an amazing wall for me in this game. pokerogue has gotten me to love pokemon i'd otherwise completely forgotten about.
I think Anger shell is really good because it can activate multiple times. So if it you give it a sitrus berry that heals it above half HP and then it gets hit back down below half, it will activate twice, basically giving you a free shell smash without you having to waste a turn to use it. But Omastar also gets Shell Smash so Anger shell can basically give it a free +4 Atk, Sp Atk, and Speed buff. Its definitely a glass canon after that though. Lol
Honestly, Mega Beedrill is SO good in PokeRogue. It's carried me through several rounds of classic mode. I'm so glad I found a shiny one with a Jolly nature~ Absolutely worth investing in, even though it can take a bit of luck to get the Mega Bracelet and the Mega Stone.
Now that they added the Orbs, Ratatta with Guts, Strong Jaw, and Psychic Fangs/Hyper Fang from egg moves has been an incredible sweeper for me. Im lucky enough to have its red shiny, so for 1 cost I get 3 luck and a solid mon in general. Still very frail, though, so speed investment is required for it to really shine.
It's crazy how many abilities changed since this video alone. I think alot Pokémon were nerfed while others are better now. As example, Chansey gets Fur coat now instead of Triage. It still won't survive a close combat but any non effective physical moves suddenly aren't as threatening anymore. Horseas ability was changed to Dragon Maw, which is alot less op than drizzle. etc. etc.
I don't know if anyone's commented this yet, but Honey Gather gives you money after every battle. Plus shiny body press skovet is a staple of my runs for a luck boost and good bulk, and does really well in early game
Rayquaza has unnerve now, he's arguably one of the best leads for Endless now with the mega, he can take down bosses without them chugging berries every time you get them low, really helpful for catching Pokémon too, since they don't recover every turn for 6 turns with sitrus berries
Not sure if this egg move was added after the release of this video, but Yungoos gets Extreme Speed as an egg move. Definitely takes it to OP with Adaptability and Huge Power. One shots basically anything that isn't insanely bulky or rock/steel/ghost.
I think you might have mixed up Magician (for sigilyph and sprigatito) with pickpocket in terms of rating. Magician triggers when the pokemon WITH magician attacks and pickpocket triggers when the pokemon with pickpocket is HIT. So sprigatito or sigilyph not being super tanky doesnt hurt their use of the ability and makes them kind of insane actually.
I've used tinted lens golisopod in almost any ability (a custom smogon meta-game), that thing is no joke. It beat heatran 1 on 1 with leech life. Admittedly that was choice band as well, but that's just 1 liechi berry activation
They changed Tepigs passive to Rock head. Meaning theres no risk to taking Flare blitz or head smash. That coupled with Victory dance which it can get as an egg move makes it S tier in my eyes. Ive seen this thing solo kill wave 145.
Cherry Tomatoes. Also, thank you for going through all of this, obv this took a lot of time to make, and it was a nice video to have on in the background while either playing the game myself or doing hw.
Castform disrespect. It carries early game with the egg move boomburst so adaptability slows the drop off (wish he was faster tho). Hope they implement the forms soon
I personally do strategize my pivots. Having good synergy makes everything easier. Team comp and synergy are incredibly valuable in runs, even a run that isn't the greatest can be salvaged by team comp and synergy. Going for 6 "Broken" mons rarely ever helps in my experience.
Intimidate on Beartic, while is good and makes a lot of sense thematically (is a bear after all) it doesnt really fit it's playstyle of sweeping. Good thing it got changed to Tough Claws, also very fitting for a bear and actually increases damage.
Bro i said it once, and ill say it again you are the best! This information was so helpful and very well put together, thank you so much for all the work youre putting into this! And again, youre the reason I am addicted to this game now 🤣
About competitive, I think it would be really cool to implement these pokemon into a simulator You know allowing them to have their passive abilities, all the new moves (though not the multiple items and berries cuz that for sure would be way too much) I'm curious what would be considered good with these new additions, compared to the current comp formats.
For technician beedrill you forgot to mention pin missile which is a big one. Also idk if Technician applies to multi lens nerfed moves but if it does that's disgusting
Filter+Solid Rock Mega Aggron would mean that super effective moved would do 1.125x normal damage. It technically has weaknesses still, but they don’t make much of a difference.
You should totally give Caterpie another look - Compound Eyes makes Sleep Powder 97% accurate and then stealing items left and right with magician is nuts. Quiver Dance Sleep Powder make Butterfree wicked badass in PokeRogue
as for sobble's super luck, his signature move, snipe shot has a high crit chance and of course always hits it target which is irrelevant, i just only just now learned this when fact checking myself on the crit chance
I'm going to come out to bat for hoothoot, calm mind + boomburst makes this thing hit way above its weight, especially for a one cost pokemon especially if you get good ivs and nature like I have. cursed body is a really odd choice for it though in my opinion, i mean i guess you could run it with roost to proc it more often? scrappy would be cool
I dunno if you correct this down the line, but I believe magician activates anytime YOU make a move, and not if you get it, I believe thats a different ability whose name I forget. so magician caterpie would be pretty crazy, especially if you were sweeping with it.
Fairy and steel types are gonna take you far, as others have said, but mostly keep an eye on your rival's team comp. If you can take out their starter easily, you just need to worry about Rayquaza.

Punk rock is busted on Primarina, punk rock + liquid voice boomburst, need I say more?
Body press on Stamina Archaludon is legitimately the best pokemon in the game able to sweep the rival easily
Opportunist Alakazam won me my first classic run so it’s definitely very OP
I feel like wind rider could be sleeper op, might be my experience but Hurricane is literally everywhere in this game.
Cherry Tomatoes. Also, thank you for going through all of this, obv this took a lot of time to make, and it was a nice video to have on in the background while either playing the game myself or doing hw.
that’s me at #1 on daily ranking 😎
Ponyta-G learns Flare Blitz as an egg move!
35:18 you don’t need leak for sirfetch, it’s still absolutely crazy even without it
Castform disrespect.
I got a manaphy, 2 tail glows and it sweeps entire team, it's very busted Pokemon but with simple it becomes unstoppable blue blob of destruction.
Bro i said it once, and ill say it again you are the best! This information was so helpful and very well put together, thank you so much for all the work youre putting into this!
And again, youre the reason I am addicted to this game now 🤣
my brother cal imma grab a snack for this
Regigigas gets Normalize as a Hidden Ability. It's still not amazing cause Normalize means no coverage, but no Slow Start at least
About competitive, I think it would be really cool to implement these pokemon into a simulator
You know allowing them to have their passive abilities, all the new moves (though not the multiple items and berries cuz that for sure would be way too much)
I'm curious what would be considered good with these new additions, compared to the current comp formats.
Toxtricity galvanized and punk rock boomburst might be insane
is insane he also gets sparkling aria and bug buzz as egg moves
If Kantonian Ponyta got Magic Guard that would be great, probly in the second tier or stays in the third tier.
I believe this should be reversed? Like, it makes soo much sense for Galarian Ponyta to get Pixilate because it's a Fairy type as well...
Yeah I feel like those two got switched
OH damn I just got Ho-oh and I know it gets Magic Guard so the team is well on their way to requiring you to make a new video within 2 months lol
For technician beedrill you forgot to mention pin missile which is a big one. Also idk if Technician applies to multi lens nerfed moves but if it does that's disgusting
i requested sharpness on fomantis and it has that now
you have to use blizzard mega glaile for rayquaza it obliterates it
Filter+Solid Rock Mega Aggron would mean that super effective moved would do 1.125x normal damage.
Butterfree slaps
Cherry tomatoes 🍅
Video was incredibly informative and nice to see some of my favorites get insane passives
lil horsy guy in thumbnail i soo op got him as an epic shiny and I'm soloing wave like 165
DAMN this is a crazy video. Thank you cal
as for sobble's super luck, his signature move, snipe shot has a high crit chance and of course always hits it target which is irrelevant, i just only just now learned this when fact checking myself on the crit chance
out of all my runs i’ve never gotten mega pidgeot, i always run pidgey
I'm going to come out to bat for hoothoot, calm mind + boomburst makes this thing hit way above its weight, especially for a one cost pokemon especially if you get good ivs and nature like I have. cursed body is a really odd choice for it though in my opinion, i mean i guess you could run it with roost to proc it more often? scrappy would be cool
Actually, shuckle is in fact mathematically the strongest pokemon lol
I made a reddit post for a tierlist of pokemon and this is the first time I saw something like this. Now for like general use pokemon lol
I dunno if you correct this down the line, but I believe magician activates anytime YOU make a move, and not if you get it, I believe thats a different ability whose name I forget. so magician caterpie would be pretty crazy, especially if you were sweeping with it.
They just changed about 60% of passives for Pokemon. This tier list may need an update
I feel like perish body on Mega Gengar with shadow tag has potential to be busted
yeah ur right abt that, forgot abt shadow tag!
guys have any tips to beat classic mode? im struggling on 145
you NEED a fairy steel type
If you find Garganacl use it with salt cure, it carried me as a wall and boss killer
Just have a counter to the Rayquaza or find a Mon you can set up on, if she has Noctowl it’s kinda free setup
Fairy and steel types are gonna take you far, as others have said, but mostly keep an eye on your rival's team comp. If you can take out their starter easily, you just need to worry about Rayquaza.
start a new game with a purple border mon for fast leveling. Utilize pokemon with the ability pickup and distribute the items to other mons
Its a shame that Totodile probably went up a tier now it has Tough Claws isntead of strong jaw
