I be saying the same thing, just these football head coaches that get relieve from their duties because they aren't very good head coaches but very good offensive or defensive coordinators, this the same scenario in basketball

Katie Smith was the head coach of the Westchester County (New York) Liberty when they played their home games at the Westchester County Center in White Plains NY after their then-ownership kicked them out of Madison Square Garden aka the World's Most Famous Arena after they announced they would put the franchise up for sale. It was the dark days for the New York Liberty franchise in 2018 and 2019 finishing with a 17-51 record during their stay in Westchester County when they averaged about 2,500 fans per home game during Katie Smith's 2 seasons as Liberty head coach.
I actually think the 2 ladies he has now has so much coaching experience that now he needs an ex WNBA player with playing experience who has not had a chance to coach yet but wants to be trained. I think that would balance it out more.
Does this mean Chennedy Carter is not coming back? I just remember the tasteless press release about Chen when they played Atlanta. I'm not sure about this one.
@ I just don’t see her coming back, I think if she does this will never be a Championship contender because of her volatility, as reported and other free agents not willing to come if she’s on the team. Satou Sabally is a priority and Carter wanted to fight her, so I’m sure she won’t come, that’s just one example.
First time head coaches need to surround themselves with veteran assistant coaches. I think not doing that is one of the reasons Tanisha Wright didn't fair well as a HC. So I'm a little worried for Marsh. That being said if Eric Thibault can get a second chance so can Tanisha Wright.
Do we know - who is the Associate Head Coach? I don’t think Tyler Marsh will let Tanisha Wright take over. He’s worked too hard to get here. But the Associate HC might feel a former HC looking over their shoulder.
@@analogee6858 I believe it’s was a good hire not great but a very good fit…As long as she come in with the mind set I’m not the HC but I can Help out the rookie coach from making real bad 1st year coaching mistakes.. I’m worried about CC.. What is Carter going to do?
@ Yeah I’m starting to think Carter might take a year off from the WNBA. She’s seems to be in a much healthier place in China and she’s been non-committal (as far as I’ve heard) about returning to the Sky. She may just wait everything out until the new contract is in place.
I hope she has better support from owners in Chicago. The Dream and Sky appear to the untrained eye to be indistinguishable. Best wishes to Coaches Marsh and Wright.
@@Todayiisssanewdayy Hmm. Strong criticisms about Coach Wright. Are you an Atlanta fan, assistant coach, player, or maybe an owner? Wright's new position is interesting as she is a former head coach working as an assistant to a head coach who is a former assistant. Should be fun to watch.
I like this coach and I think she can find a better place than working for that racist owner who is so entitled that she thinks she can use others to platform her childish soapboxing. Better roads ahead Coach Wright and you have the strength of character and insight to hopefully guide the chicago players on a good path.
She did a good job on the staff for the USA women’s Olympics basketball team with Cheryl reeves last year .. with them hiring a lot of men head coaches this season it’s nice to see some women on the sideline helping out the coaching staff
At least Wright gave Henny a chance last season while Canada was injured. I've said it once, and I'll say it again, I'm NOT watching the WNBA until Henny is on a roster 😊
So I’m actually not sure where they got that she was Coach Of The Year with the Dream, I’m a die hard Dream fan and she didn’t win COTY at all lol. I will say the first two seasons with her she did good (considering what we were from 2019-2021) but this pass season I don’t think she utilized the players and bench the right way and even before Cheyenne was injured I felt like she gave up on her because Tina was now here. Cheyenne should’ve never came outta the starting line up because her and Tina were playing good together at the 4 & 5. Haley Jones was used to much at point and LA (Amihere) wasn’t used at ALL. Hopefully this move will benefit her but yeah she definitely wasn’t COTY, we’ve only had that title twice and that was 2009 with Marynell Meadors and Nicki Collen in 2018.
Its a traveling circus with little chance of any break through. The "not really a sports league" as illustrated by the Indiana Sun has no interest in improving. Only the status quo grifters need apply. They cover for each other.
_Where is Christie Sides???_ Caoched the best most fluent offense in the W last szn.. Tanisha was a pg so + the other coach from Dallas a front court player. Hints for the draft?
Quita how Courtney Paris is more exciting when Dallas has not performed well especially with their bigs? I think Tanisha will do well relating with this team having been in that position before but I do agree they need another experienced assistant
I hope she can leash the model-influencer and make Reese a better player not allowing her to make stat padding. I can see angel as the rising model star for the WNBA not as a player.
I love this hire for Chicago. Reese will get that drama started soon. She will work this former HC against the new male HC. Mark my words, Reese is bad news.
Coach Wright will be an EXCELLENT assistant coach for the SKY 🌌!! She is a former WNBA Defensive Player/Specialist & will be able to assist the SKY players to develop & work hard to develop their Defensive 🏀 games 🤩!! DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS 🤩🔥🔥🔥🤫!!
Don’t think so hope not just the deal with what’s going on with her & Carter but as long as she come in with the mind set I’m not the HC but I can help him not make rookie mistakes as a HC…
You're being bias. She's a good coach. She took the team to the playoffs 2 outta the 3yrs she was there. She was the scapegoat for a horrible franchise. They have the worst facilities, owners and GM. Tanisha had no say so. She was only expected to coach what was handed to her. She will be good in Chicago. They will be top 5. And ATL will still be struggling to make the playoffs.
Glad she got a new gig! I always thought highly of her. I like what the sky has done with their coaching staff recently. I do have a low opinion of their front office though. I also wonder how they will build the team. Angel and Kamilla are both interior players and need to play in the paint. How will they spread the floor, even Chennady Carter if they bring her back isn’t a great outside shooter and is at her best when slashing and driving into the paint. The paint will get pretty crowded. I like some of their other players. Michaela O. is a nice player for sure.
Angel Reese can shoot the ball. She have a jump shot and a mid range game. Majority of people don't realized how many games AR had over 20 points. AR going to play in the paint and outside the paint. Inaddition to bringing the ball down the court. Angei is a baller. Keep watching her. You will see her bag
@ I only go by what I see and the numbers don’t support your point. Reese is known for her scoring in the paint and rebounding. Here are some other stats for Reese: FG% in the restricted area: 47.0% FG% in the paint (non-restricted area): 17.1% Points per 40 minutes: 16.7 Off rebounds per 40 minutes: 6.2 Regular season stats: 13.6 points, 13.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.3 steals per game She is talented and had a great rookie year, but I think she needs to work hard on the parts of her game you mentioned.
@ I agree Rachel Banham can shoot. I think they need to add more shooting though. They have plenty of cap space and only have half their roster complete so far. I think their GM said they want to add wings (3&D)
I’m just being realistic, not trying to hate at all. But as I said this is a great opportunity for her to build back better and get back to another head coach opportunity, because she sure does have the potential
The Sky needs a veteran assistant coach? I know of one with 4 years experience as an assistant head coach and 5 other years as an assistant coach at the collegiate level, 8 seasons as an assistant in the WNBA, and 7 years of international assistant coaching experience. I even think she coached in the Eurocup. Plus, she's been an assistant with the Sky. Of course, I'm referring to Christie Sides.
So far, Wright is my least favorite hire the Sky have made…as someone who roots for Atlanta teams by default because I’m from Atlanta, I was disappointed… but hopefully with this new start, it will be upwards trending for her assistant coaching skills
Last year, she had Jordan Canada for most of the year. She had injuries to Alisha Gray and Rhyne Howard. Your analysis is usually far and good, but you really dropped the ball on your reflections on Coach Tanisha Wright. I am really disappointed with this video. I am really happy with this hire.
@ if that is the case, I don’t want to hear anything about Coach Spoon being done wrong. With that logic, she was responsible for Angel, Kamila, and Carter getting hurt and the Sky not making the playoffs.
I'm extremely unhappy with this hire. Bad move on so many levels. Not a player's coach. It can't be more obvious. Getting Courtney Paris is a bright spot.
Tanisha Wright deserves congratulations and a bear hug because she has been upgraded to a promotion just for obtaining employment unrelated to Renee Montgomery. LOL
