Its not Titus who is voice acted by Henry Cavill in this Secret Level episode BUT Henry Cavill is working as the executive producer and actor for an upcoming live-action Warhammer 40k series
That's true and well, but if you line up Titus from Space Marine 1, Space Marine 2 and now Secret Level. It does kinda look like Titus is turning into Henry Cavill...
@patinho5589 Doing it from the perspective of the inquisition would be best, imo. That way the audience gets to see every aspect of the Imperium. Personally, I want to see the Sisters of Battle in live action more than space marines. Custodes would be dope though.
@ If they could convincingly "smallify" Elijah Wood to play a 3 foot hobbit back in the early 2000s, they can "bigify" Henry Cavill (or anyone really) to play a 8 foot Astartes. And I know they haven't decided yet (that we know at least) what the show is going to be about but you can't escape the fact that Titus really has undergone a huge change even from SM2 to Secret Level. I think it's intentional.
Henry Cavill is gonna be a Custodes. That's the army he collects and paints. Long story, short: imagine one of these guys, but even bigger and covered in gold armor. The Custodes protect the God-Emperor of Mankind and guard the Golden Throne on Earth If you want more Warhammer 40k and explanations, plenty of people start with Bricky's "Every Warhammer 40k Faction Explained", although Luetin09 also has a great starter video called "WTF is Warhammer 40k?" I also gotta shoutout Weshammer and Majorkill. They do great Warhammer 40k content too.
"I need to learn everything about this I can about this." I don't think you realize what's involved in that decision. But to be fair, nobody realizes how incredibly deep the storytelling of the Warhammer 40,000 universe is when they first catch the bug and want to know more.
Yeah 40k is enourmas over 500 books. I am a Fan for about 10 years now and was only able to read about a 100 of them. However I have enough Lore knowlege to talk an entire month ore more about it.
You nailed it with the Helm Street comparison, it is 99% what it happened, the demon got into their minds and used their fears to kill them. Also some context: the black spacemarine whas the mentor of Titus. He fears his pupil may be a traitor chaos worshiper, that is why he sees him with horns. Titus was accused of heresy in Space Marine 1, because he has strange powers that are only seen in those who have alliegances with demons.
You should watch "Astartes" made by Syama Peterson. He's the brains behind the visual masterpiece you just watched. If you do, make sure you watch the version with the original sound effects and music.
Next up: 'Astartes'? A fan made film that probably did more to introduce 40K to the masses than Games Workshops entire marketing team. The whole thing was modelled, animated and scripted by one person, Syama Pederson, (he also did work on the Secret Level episode you just reacted to). Prior to this episode it was the one animation that, IMHO, portrayed accurately just how lethal and overpowered Astartes (Space Marines) are. Worth your time, gentlemen, give it a watch and let us know your thoughts.
They shall be my finest warriors, these men who give themselves to me. Like clay I shall mould them and in the furnace of war forge them. They will be of iron will and steely sinew. In great armour shall I clad them and with the mightiest weapons shall they be armed. They will be untouched by plague or disease, no sickness will blight them. They will have tactics, strategies and machines such that no foe can best them in battle. They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my Space Marines and they shall know no fear. --The Emperor of Mankind.
Henry Cavil is a giant Warhammer fan, who grew up playing the tabletop game. He still collects and paints the miniatures. Games Workshop has its own publishing house (The Black Library) which continuously prints books set in the world of Warhammer 40K.
A lil explaination on the one eyed demon at the end. The guy in the coffin was protecting them from psychic attacks. Basically all magic is kinda psychic coming from a sort of chaos realm. (Its complicated) The demon preyed on each space marines fear, the first guy feared of being weak. The main guy feared that the kid (titus) he recruited to be a sm would fall victim to chaos. And become a chaos marine. And titus the last guy. Is a savage and doesnt fear anything which is why the demon couldn't kill him. Space marine 2 is a good game to check out if you wanna know more about titus, or warhammer altogether. Bricky has sone good warhammer explained videos if you wanna know about the lore
In the beginning, Metaurus was actually praying lol. They pray to a Emperor who is the big pinnacle of the imperium they serve. However the statue he was praying towards was their Primarch/Father known as Roboute Guilliman the head of the Ultra Marines who are the characters you see on the screen. Each group known as Chapters has their own Primarch /Father they serve and come from. They are all different have their own custom rituals and rights of passage. Each Chapter/group resembles their Primarch/Father since the genes inside of the Father/Primarch are as well inside the Space Marine/ Astartes. Each has flaws and etc.
I came to say the same thing. When I got into D&D way back in the day, I had some friends try to convince me to get into Warhammer & Warhammer 40K. Then found out how expensive of a hobby it was compared to D&D, I was like, "Nope, this game is too rich for my blood." LOL! 🤣
@marcusrouls7472 yeah 😅 their are over 500 books and after 10 years of beeing a 40k and fantasy fan I have only read about 100 maybe less. However when it comes to 40k I have very very much knowlege. My true love however is warhammer fantasy. I have so much knowlege about wfantasy that I could explain to you months worth of knowlege. After all in 40k their are allways atleast 100 of years between diffrent book groups. In contrast for wfantasy we have lore for about 6500 years and in most of this 6500 years I have knowlege about a few things that happend their.
Warhammer has been around since the 80s. Pretty sure guys like Steve Jackson and possibly Ian Livingstone started games workshop started out by publishing choose your own adventure game books under the banner of Fighting Fantasy game books later created Warhammer. Mad Max has been around since the late 70s.
One super underrated aspect is how good this episode is for new people and for die hards like me who can look at it and know that’s LT Titus with the red helmet and he’s leading a Bladeguard mission against Tzeentch cultists, that turn into Tzangor and then a full blow Daemon Prince of Tzeentch trying to open a gateway on the planet to allow a Greater Daemon of Tzeentch (Lord of Change) to enter our world. (That’s what the giant bird statute is)… even down to showing us the Bladeguard Veteran SGT (the main guy) was using an Axe which isn’t standard protocol so that tells us he’s a bit “Obi-Wan” not exactly a stickler for tradition which is why he mentor’d Titus even though he’s not what others would approve of.
He wasn't ensuring their survival in the beginning. If you read the screens you can see that he was acknowledging that it was a suicide mission. They weren't expecting to survive, probably because they were there to call an orbital bombardment on their position once they found it.
there is another youtube show called astartes, i believe the guy that created that (one dude made a fan made series) was on board for this hence why it was so good. the creatures in this are the follows of tzeench who is the god of change and this final boss is one of his greater demons. tzeench is one of the chaos gods.
Consider this. Those guys were Ultramarines, you can tell from the Omicron symbol all over them and the blue armor. There are 18 original legions of space marines. Each Legion had a specific purpose. The Imperial Fists were defensive specialists. The Raven Guard were scouts. The Ultramarines... are accountants. Yep, they were logistics specialists. Other chapters outfight these guys 9 times out of 10. Space marines are not something to mess with. I would Suggest Bricky's introduction to the 40k universe. Specifically his space marine videos. Also, look into the 18th legion, the Salamanders.
Titus is the character you play in the games space marine 1 and 2. This is the first time we meet the man who recruited him, the narrator. Warhammer has a full cast of enemy factions from high tech soldiers, ancient robots, demons, swarms of space locust trying to eat everything to straight up space orcs and space elves. Every faction is on their own, nobody is your friend.
These aren’t cutscenes from a video game. This is just an animation from games workshop. It takes place after the game Space Marine 2, in which Titus is the protagonist that you play as.
If you want to know the lore of Warhammer 40k better, do a reaction from the youtuber Bricky What is Warhammer 40,000? These videos explain the lore well without going into too much detail.
25 year war hammer fan here. Read or listen to some books from either Horus Heresy, or up to date recent book releases, or play Space Marine 1 and 2, or play Darktide, and you should have a pretty good idea as of what the setting is like and how lethal Astartes are, and their custodian (emperor’s elite guards) and primarch (gene father) counterparts. Also understanding the personality traits of each chapter of space marine (astartes) will help you out too. Like ultramarines, salamanders, white scars and space wolves are all civilian friendly and guard friendly, iron hands…not so much.
You guys should also check out the fan project called "Astartes" by Syama Pedersen. He did such an amazing job on it that Games Workshop, the creators of Warhammer 40k and did some of the animation of this episode.
I was always a somewhat casual fan of Warhammer since i have played the RTS Dawn of War Warhammer games on my PC. So i dipped my pinky toe in at first. But after seeing the fan animation Astartes and then seeing this episode, i dived headfirst into the warhammer pool. Haha. So ive been watching a bunch of lore and faction videos on youtube as well as buying the Horus Heresy series in audiobook format. And i just recently bought a warhammer omnibus for the book series that focuses on the Salamanders because they became my favorite after watching a general legion explanation video and the description for them got me super hooked. So theyre now my favorite legion. And my 2nd favorite legion is a tie between the Raven Guard and the White Scars. I'm also thinking of getting a warhammer 40k and Starcraft crossover tattoo. Haha. I got my design all picked out. Now i just need to save up and find a good tattoo place to get it done. :)
if anyone wants a good alternate look into the life of average human soldiers ( with plot armor) in this universe the gaunts ghosts series (both written and or audible) are very well done
I’ve been playing Warhammer since the mid 80s. If it is done right it could be the most amazing thing ever put to film. Sadly, I don’t think they have the balls to do it right.
40k is allot of fun it has actually been around since the 80s and has influenced allot of games as well as taken allot from other things. It is one of those thing you can go as deep as you want to into as their is hundreds of books and games out their on it and if you get into the table top with the plastic miniatures well then that can be its whole own giant hobby.
This secret level episode is about about the main character from the space marine 1 and 2 games, titus. However there is so much more to the universe between 10 editions of a tabletop war game, hundreds of books and a smattering of differe(admittedly hit or miss) video games. The things with blue.blood were demons and that thing looking in their eyes is a sorcerer that actually stopped time with its magic. If you want to over view of the series watch the 40k lore videos by Bricky, hes got a timeline video, a 2 part faction video and a video on the space marine legions. They are a good intro prrimer for ppl. Then move on to luetin09 and weshammer for more in depth lore videos. You wont be disappointed warhammer lore goes hard
I'd recommend watching a handful of beginner videos from Luetin09 and then reading or listening to some books, you can find a short audio drama (like the audio recording of a play) that is only a couple of hours so you can dip a toe in the universe on your own without diving all in and drowning. EDIT: Also, I recommend buying or 3d printing and then painting some miniatures.
That thing at the end? That USED to be a person. A chaos sorceror of Tzeentch that killed the space marines by seeing into their souls and using their deepest, darkest fears. The reason it couldn't do that to Titus? Two reasons. The one fans of the series will tell you is because Titus is immune to chaos. The other reason is because he's an mf'ing space marine.
@@Rawkit_Surgeon I dont disagree, but the fact he has no eyes measns he is soulbound, strengthened against daemons. He is also praying to help concentrate whereas blanks have an innate ability. Finally... it has him as an astropath in the credits.
I've always described space-marines by comparing them to Captain America - in an Iron-Man suit, carrying Thor's hammer. Then psycho-indoctrinated for ultimate mental-strength and loyalty - and then put in a squad of 9 others who have spent many decades (sometimes centuries) doing nothing but training and fighting together.
Warhammer 40k was created in '87; GoW (and probably any other potential comparison) come *after* that. *Starcraft* was supposed to be a 40k game, until someone screwed the legal pooch. 40k is rediculously overpowered, compared to other franchises. The mad max types are Chaos cultists. They seek the favour of a Chaos god, hoping to be elevated to daemons; if a daemon dies in material space, they 'respawn' in the warp, so it's basically immortality. (What's the warp? Hell, more or less). The marines' purity seals burn in the presence of Chaos, which is also reponsible for Metaurus' flashback, and gravity misbehaving in the hole; the warp's attention to physics is selective at best. The daemons they fight in the dark are what the cultists hoped to become. The psyker was in a box, partly so he'd survive the drop, but mostly so his psychic presence wouldn't be detected. He projects a shield that works against psychic attacks, but it does nothing against the daemon sorceror's blade. The shield falls, the marines are also affected by the timestop. The first died to a form of imposter syndrome, hence THE LIE now on his armour. Metaurus feared Titus could turn to Chaos, and was thus betrayed. But Titus himself has no fear to exploit, to the sorceror's brief regret; he bisects it with the same blade he was dragging along as a child. Titus is the protagonist of the Space Marine games. This takes place after SM2. If you want to learn more about 40k, I suggest reacting to Bricky's 'Every Faction Explained' videos.
Warhammer is a lot. But a good first move if you're going to react is mainly bricky like he has separate videos on timeline factions and space marine factions... If you want to go deeper I'm pretty sure there's many other people in the comment sections I got ideas
Isn't he one of two people that have actually heard the emperor? Not by any means an expert but i imagine that's very significant to be one of two documented cases
@cheeseburger12 but is it not fair to say he is well on his way to becoming a very big part? Obviously it's hard to compete with people that have been alive for thousands of years
@@AG-fv4yb He is a cool character. He will likely get a Space Marine 3. It is just that 40k is so vast that starring in 2 video games and a short it is still arguable he is a "minor" character. He is certainly my favorite ultramarine behind Roboutte Guilliman, the primarch.
Although the army is in fact heavy, it isn't for the space marines. One of the enhancements they receive is something called the black carapace under their skin, with ports all over their body which the power armour connects to. It basically connects their power armour directly to their nervous system, so when their brain sends a signal to their arm to lift up the same signal goes to the power armour and it moves with it. Basically their power armour is a second skin for them rather than a suit of heavy armour.
if you want to understand 40k on a fundamental basis. Leutin has a good 2 hour intro video post Space marine 2 games release. after that, no one person can inform you on what 40k is. "40K CURIOUS AFTER SPACE MARINE 2? | LUETIN'S ULTIMATE BEGINNERS GUIDE TO WARHAMMER 40,000", from there consume the content however you want. from whoever you want.
We don’t know what sort of show Cavill will be making but it will be set in the Warhammer 40K universe. It wasn’t a demon they were fighting in the end but a sorcerer who follows the Chaos God Tzeentch. It wasn’t either a human of an alien that has been changed due to its worship. Tzeentch is one of the four Chaos Gods of the Warp. Powerful entities that exist in the subdimension realm made up of the collected thoughts and emotions of all living creatures. The four Space Marines didn’t wear their armor because they knew it was a suicide mission. That’s their everyday wear. To really read up and learn the massive lore and universe-building that is Warhammer 40K I suggest begin with Bricky’s starter videos on it then move up to Arbitor Ian, The Remembrancer and Weshammer for intermediate-level lore dump. Luetin is when you want hours long videos breaking down Warhammer 40K lore. Luetin is advanced level.
Bricky's vids are great place to start but a little warning they're dated by couple years and a little long. They're also entertaining as hell he's great at explaining and keeping your attention, don't be afraid to pause and talk about things while your watching so you don't miss anything. Start with factions part 1 and 2 then the timeline of Warhammer and if your still interested watch all legions of the space Marines. Then you can move on to deep lore with Luetin09 or other 40k creators Also give some of the cinematics a watch i suggest Horus Heresy or any of the games really. Also, Astartes is great it was done by one guy and I think he was one of the primary 3d specialists that worked on Secret Level 40k as well.
You are not prepared! 40k is massive in scale before you even get to warhammer fantasy and age of sigmar. 40k from what i hewr is the most expansive, with many demons crossing over from 40k to fantasy, and age of sigmar.
So fun fact, Warhammer 40k is older than Gears of War. Hell it's older than the OG doom game... It has inspired a lot of stuff in movies, games and comics but never really got into the mainstream until now. Bonus fun bit those big ass Space Marines? The fuckers who get hit with cars and don't give a damn... They are as agile as Master Chief in lore and even faster, stronger and can live for hundreds if not thousands of years. In the novels they are referred to as demi gods for good reason.
Next look up Astartes 1-5, The main guy behind this siama penderson which you'll see in the credits did a fan animation buy himself and it's amazing. Then look up warrior tier and do reactions You guys will not be disappointed It's amazing
please watch astartes! its another warhammer space marine short made by a fan, but the fan got hired and worked on this amazon warhammer episode! you guys will like it, same quality

I love how this episode makes the viewer ask all the question vs giving them all the answers. Sparks curiosity about the 40k universe.
Shout out from Kenya. This show literally turned me into a warhammer diehard after literally knowing nothing about warhammer before the show
It only takes one spark, then you can never escape the flames.
Welcome to the fold brother
For me, it was Astartes
"I'm not locked in here with you. YOUR LOCKED IN HERE WITH ME!!" - Demetrian Titus, probably
Henry Cavill is gonna be a Custodes. That's the army he collects and paints. Long story, short: imagine one of these guys, but even bigger and covered in gold armor. The Custodes protect the God-Emperor of Mankind and guard the Golden Throne on Earth
If you want more Warhammer 40k and explanations, plenty of people start with Bricky's "Every Warhammer 40k Faction Explained", although Luetin09 also has a great starter video called "WTF is Warhammer 40k?"
I also gotta shoutout Weshammer and Majorkill. They do great Warhammer 40k content too.
Primarch imho
I’m expecting him to be either the Emperor or Horus in recurring flashbacks to the Heresy lol
Warrior Tier (short stories in the first person - great voice acting)
@@ModuliOfRiemannSurfaces I don't think he will be the emperor. In 40k just pretty much no screen time.
None of what you said has been confirmed for Cavillhammer. Zero story details have been released.
Chaos demon: what is your fear?
Titus: you fuckd with the wrong Marine!
Titus is voiced by the actor who played Rollo in "Vikings". Clive Standen.
"I need to learn everything about this I can about this."
I don't think you realize what's involved in that decision. But to be fair, nobody realizes how incredibly deep the storytelling of the Warhammer 40,000 universe is when they first catch the bug and want to know more.
he will be watching trayxzen the infinite warrior teir video next lol
...30 years later....
You don’t get into the Warhammer lore, you succumb to it
Welcome to Warhammer Brothers. And welcome to the rabbit hole of lore.
The "Sword" the kid was dragging in the beginning was the "knife" he used to split the demon in two.
Yeah i been randomly checking warhammer lore videos ever since this. Its so much but overall great ideas and story elements
If you guys want to learn more about Warhammer 40k i recommend you guys reaction to bricky videos
Thats Normal Tuesday in 40k 😅
Henry Cavil is a giant Warhammer fan, who grew up playing the tabletop game. He still collects and paints the miniatures.
Games Workshop has its own publishing house (The Black Library) which continuously prints books set in the world of Warhammer 40K.
This game hit in the 80’s and has evolved majorly. One of the dudes on this did a piece called Astarties before games workshop had hired him.
"Warhammer Eats" got me😂
In the beginning, Metaurus was actually praying lol.
Elevator pitch-length introduction to 40k and fun watch is Bricky’s Warhammer 40k timeline. And a good react episode. Love you guys
3:45 Warhammer 40k is older than both
I came to say the same thing.
Its likely a Tzeentch demon of some sort. Localized time manipulation and using their own fears against them is kind of on brand.
Its a Tzeentch Sorceror.
I'm with Jay in that this was my first introduction to anything Warhammer but definitely curious now
You know you've hooked someone on 40k when they say "I've got so many questions!"
Axes are definitely on the wargear list for sternguard\bladeguard
My friend is a Warhammer nerd, they’re gonna love seeing this
Yo.... if you enjoy Warhammer. There is another short called: Astartes. / Very well made, created by a single dude.
He wasn't ensuring their survival in the beginning. If you read the screens you can see that he was acknowledging that it was a suicide mission. They weren't expecting to survive, probably because they were there to call an orbital bombardment on their position once they found it.
I wana know everything about that.
Famous last words Brother.😅
I love watching my peoples reactions to Warhammer 40k videos.
You misunderstood what happened when they dropped into abyss, the gravitation has warped there, they did not magnetize.
there is another youtube show called astartes, i believe the guy that created that (one dude made a fan made series) was on board for this hence why it was so good. the creatures in this are the follows of tzeench who is the god of change and this final boss is one of his greater demons. tzeench is one of the chaos gods.
The synchronized "oooooohhhh" had me lol
The emperor protects
Plenty of 40k lore channels to get you up to speed. Just embrace the dark sense of humor, irony, sarcasm, and nihilism that goes with the territory.
a couple of other 40K animations worth watching The Death of Hope and Astartes both are amazing fanmade animations
0:19 all you need to know is...ahem...cough...esc-WAAAAAAAGH!!!!
Morehammer!!! React to Bricky’s intro to Warhammer 40K video next
if anyone wants a good alternate look into the life of average human soldiers ( with plot armor) in this universe the gaunts ghosts series (both written and or audible) are very well done
I’ve been playing Warhammer since the mid 80s. If it is done right it could be the most amazing thing ever put to film.
Sadly, I don’t think they have the balls to do it right.
And I used to write for GW so I know what I’m talking about.
And so it begins, Warhammer to the masses. Welcome to the ride Brothers.
Point these gentlemen towards the nearest Bricky video. For the Emperor
I decided to dip my toe into Warhammer lore after watching this episode and I was NOT ready
Amazing reaction and welcome for being future Warhammer 40K fans.
You guys should react to Bricky's "What is warhammer 40k" video
The guy on the left could do the "Movie Trailer voice". Say something like "in a world.... where..."
The dude in the coffin is a psychic blank. They nullify supernatural phenomena around them.
His lack of eyes suggest he is a soulbound psyker, or astropath.
@charly03090309 I won't bring a psycher near a daemon unless you want to fight more daemons. I think it makes more sense that he's a blank.
@@Rawkit_Surgeon I dont disagree, but the fact he has no eyes measns he is soulbound, strengthened against daemons. He is also praying to help concentrate whereas blanks have an innate ability. Finally... it has him as an astropath in the credits.
@charly03090309 yeah, but that would mean I'm wrong and I don't like that :D
@@Rawkit_Surgeon Lol.. Fair enough :) . The creators are in error.
You guys should absolutely react to Brickys Explaination on Warhammer 40k. Lots of people have been reacting to it and we have been watching!
React to every "Bricky" 40k lore videos! Best way to get introduced while it being funny!
For memes sure but I think ArbiterIan is a better overall, Bricky gets lore wrong at times and the jokes tend to only work for fans.
People with no clue of the sheer scope of 40k, thinking that Titus is a major character...
Isn't he one of two people that have actually heard the emperor? Not by any means an expert but i imagine that's very significant to be one of two documented cases
@@AG-fv4yb Titus is a very cool character, but he's not even a miniboss in the insane Warhammer Universe.
@@cheeseburger12 100% understand your reasoning. Rumored Henry Cavill will play as Titus in an Amazon prime series, high hopes for that series
space marine 1 and 2 is titus story, this follows on from space marine 2
If y'all gamers space Marines 2 is the best rep what it's like to be them. You FEEL the weight of your armor yet it isn't cumbersome. It's awesome
They are one-shotting the raiders because they are shooting mini rockets like you see when time freezes.
You guys need to react to ASTARTES!! Supposedly the same guy made it!
They're pretty badass... for monks.
The Laurels of Victory! Tituuuuuus!
You gotta react to Bricky's lore videos! Definitely the first step to learning a lot
Space marine is just one game in the greater warhammer universe. Its not just space marine
Then you can move on to deep lore with Luetin09 or other 40k creators
Also give some of the cinematics a watch i suggest Horus Heresy or any of the games really.
In the novels they are referred to as demi gods for good reason.
bros about to open a jar that has an never ending bottom if they gona dive into the lore
Now you guys gotta watch Space King
I really hope you guys can react to Warhammer 40k's lore videos. Those are awesome!
Praise the God Emperor for shining his light on new Angels
Next look up Astartes 1-5, The main guy behind this siama penderson which you'll see in the credits did a fan animation buy himself and it's amazing. Then look up warrior tier and do reactions You guys will not be disappointed It's amazing
Warhammer was created in 1983 by the British.
A big thing to know about 40k as a setting is that every faction is evil. No exception.
WELCOME BROTHERS! FOR THE GOD EMPORERER!
oh no, when they said gears of war meets mad max i died a little inside, 40K aint like nothing youve ever seen before
