I can tell you firsthand that many who started preparing for the UPSC Exam with the dream of becoming IAS/IFS officers in 2024 have now dropped their plans to even appear in 2024. Why? Because they think they are not 'adequately' prepared, and they will give their best shot in 2025 now. Please do not make that mistake, and do not take a gap year. You will ruin your life!
If you are eligible to write the exam in 2024 and can dedicate around 10 hours per day to your preparations, please do not postpone your plans. Please do not make UPSC a 5-year plan.
The following should be your go-to strategy now. Just stay consistent, and you will crack the Prelims. Dedicate 10 hours per day, and here is how you should go about it.
    NEETU SINGH
    1. January & February:
Complete History (Ancient, Medieval, Modern) + Economics + pick up any test series to solve 30 questions daily (from February onwards). Dr. Jahnavi recently uploaded it on the LinkedIn Alumni Group.
Watch 2 episodes daily on the MisFits Learning Portal on Economics and History. How will this help?
After completion of these modules, you would have developed an innate ability to make better conjectures.
You will be better positioned to read through current affairs (via newspapers), or when you are making notes while solving the tests.
At least for Economics, you’d see more than 90% accuracy. It could reach even 95-100% if you watch the lectures twice. For history, it should be around 60%, but if you can make diligent notes from the Test Series, and revise those notes, that accuracy should reach around 80-85% (which is actually pretty good).
    Manuj Jindal
Don’t worry about the Mains at this stage. Inadvertently, you’d be prepared for the Mains - we took a lot of effort to make sure that these video lessons cover things comprehensively. The only difference in Mains vs. Prelims preparation is how you go about solving test papers, and the focus on remembering certain specificities.
Please watch through the session before Episode 19 (under the Geography heading) for my thoughts on Prelims 2024, and how you should make the best use of MisFits Episodes + Tests.
    2. March & April:
Complete Geography, Environment, Science and tech.
Watch 2 episodes daily on the MisFits Learning Portal + Solve Test Papers (as shared on the LinkedIn Alumni Group). How will this help?
A large part is static & conceptual - if you have learned those concepts well, you should get good accuracy in these subjects.
You would have logically solved many UPSC Prelims & Mains questions and will be well-positioned to solve potential questions from this part.
Aspects of mapping would also be covered via this.
    3. Last Week of April + May (until the 2nd week):
Watch through Polity and Governance Episodes on the MisFits Portal.
    • Is India becoming a DI...
Watch 2 episodes daily on the MisFits Learning Portal. The reason for covering Polity at the end is so that some factual data checked in the exam are fresh in your mind as/when you write the UPSC.
Polity for Prelims is very predictable; 20% effort here would yield 80% returns. By this time, you will be adequately prepared to better grasp Polity (because you can see the interconnections I have made across Geography, Environment, Economics, etc., for all of you).
If you had followed the above methods, you would have completed the following things by the 2nd week of May:
    1. Foundations of History, Economics, Polity, Governance, Geography, Science & Tech, and Society.
    2. Current Affairs via solving around 30 Contemporary Test Papers. (Retaining information via these current affairs would be much easier for you because your foundations
    3. Past 14 years of UPSC official papers.
But, wait. Cracking Prelims is not the only thing. You won’t get medals for this. The next stage is extremely critical. Focus on cracking the exam in one go. How will that happen?
After your Prelims - take a 1-week break. And then do the following:
Step 1: Watch through the Playlist on Foreign Policy Classroom with Amb. Anil Trigunyat.
Step 2: Watch through the Playlist on Essays (250 Marks).
Step 3: Watch through the Masterclass on Structures.
Step 4: Watch through the Playlist on Ethics (250 Marks).
Step 5: Revise Economics until your UPSC Prelims Result is out!
    • Video
Keep attending special sessions - where I will cover some issues from scratch.
Be part of answer writing communities at MisFits (after your Prelims Result).
Additionally, your Mains GS is done along with the above episodes. Focus your 3 months on Optionals.
After your Mains - There will be a series of around 7-10 lectures that will help you in getting 200+ in the interviews.
Stop watching Free TH-cam Videos and crash Courses. Many of these are sub-standard resources. Minimize your resources

Podcasts are not the final word on anything. Podcasts act like a Media. Some are paid podcasts, some others are not. Popular personalities are invited, based on certain content themes. No one ever said that the Personality on the podcast is absolutely right and correct. That is the problem. They are humans, from various fields with their set of experiences and ideologies. The media has always been like this. Individual discretion is necessary.

China, Singapore, Vietnam and all other nations are far better than, Yes they are, because their core governing body doesn't have to worry about the votes or elections. They don't have to worry about the diversity in their country, they don't have to worry about the unity of the country and among their citizens, because their leadership know that their citizens are strong, they know the actual meaning of education, they know how to respect ones culture and diversity, they know how important it is to be united at any cost and they know the importance of rules and regulations.
Do you expect this in Bharat?, People here don't even know how to use a dustbin. The definition to serve the nation in India is to crack a government job ,we don't even have a language in order to represent our selves in an International platform. We are not against democracy, it i just that citizens don't know about it, therefore the constitution should be temporarily revoked for atleast 25 years in order to bring the citizens (the true asset of a country) in the right track in order to be spotted on the World map as Bharat in true sense or else Bharat will perish and India will prevail.

There's no point supporting the best of the best candidates regardless of party and ideology, that's because there's a parliamentary law in India called a whip. A whip is a party order that disallows a party MP/MLA from voting against the party. Lets take a hypothetical example - Imagine Party A rules and they have a majority in parliament. They bring in a new law legalising pick pocketing. Imagine u live in a constituency where a lot of pick pocketing happens and you elect a harvard/oxford educated gentle soul who was a aid worker in an orphanage before joining politics (purest of pure soul) to solve that problem. Guess what happens then. Even though u elected the most bestest human being to your parliament, he has no other option but to support the bill. Please educate yourself instead of spouting bullshit western talking point which have no relavance to Indian situation 😭

Also, the way Modi and his cronies constantly talk about changing the constitution (as per their whims) indicates where their mindset is heading towards. Fascism under hitler and Mussolini didn’t suppress people’s rights immediately. Rather, they did gradually, using propaganda to make people agree with their decisions, along the way. @@shadabsk1579Why should any religious law be cared for, especially if they are irrational? Hindus had many laws regarding Property inheritance, widow remarriage etc. They were all done with by British and are carried on after independence by other religions as well. Only the Muslims were left behind in lot of areas. Yes, there has to be a choice between regressive religious laws and democratic laws based on equality.
When are majority of Muslims going to realise that there are serious problems in Sharia law (religious law) that are discriminatory for women and just can't be accepted in a country like India whose constitution guarantees equality? There are many who have protested, championed against such laws; while on one hand Triple talaq ban was celebrated by loads of women, chauvinistic religious men protested. While one just can't think how less than 16 years girl's marriage was legal (in Assam) when a country has constitutional cut off as 18 yrs for child marriage, there are some who protested against this also.
While fundamentalists will always protest, isn't it the duty of the govt to even oppose religious law if needed for the betterment? People like Arif Mohammed khan who keep more society integrative thoughts are shunned and abused by the propaganda of religious fanatics and fundamentalists all over the country.
Read this again calmly brother and answer if such religious laws should be blindly accommodated to satisfy fundamentalists egoes of some or need a serious rethinking by a progressive Muslim society.

I respectfully disagree with your example of your success in getting the education - you are what is called a data point past the 95th percentile.... the tail.
A systemic change is necessary to enable more youth to have this access.
You come from a city. I hear anecdotes that government school teachers in villages sub contract these posts, while they hold down jobs in cities.
The children in those schools are lucky if the SUB CONTRACTED teacher turns up at the school.
As they say- there is no smoke without fire. This allegation of sub contracting must have a semblance of truth.
The question is where is the Civil Service to cut down on such occurrences, or ideally ensuring it doesn't happen???
They are busy debating whether a certain post holder can annotate comments in Green/Pink ink in margins. There have been sub-committees established to discuss such issues....
    A systemic change is needed.

Our day to day experiences show that people still want that backward life and get free treats. Many of them don't even want to leave their caste based profits even after getting a good job like IAS, IPS, IFS or an engineer from IIT.
Political parties are doing nothing except for using that factor to get votes, each of the political parties know that people would not leave their caste for good, so they use that against you only.
For example, you can se Gujjars of Rajasthan, Jats in Haryana, and many more asking for reservations. So tell me, if you are asking for something wrong from a person you made to sit on that seat, wouldn't that person do anything you'd say to save his seat?

There is chance to be a dictator. Otherwise opposition party and Janata have lost there haaq of democracy lost our freedom. There is lots of example going on. So we should rotate the party. The problem is we do not have opposition worthy enough to raise issues like Naman sir, who would laud the govt for good work and question them for bad work, it's just a vote bank politics, appeasement, freebies, derogatory comments being hurled at each other, poor research and discussion on policies. When the national interest is concerned there shouldn't be any opposition or ruling govt, it should be Indians fighting to save the integrity of the nation, which is far from fruition. No one's concerned about national interest first, it's all about who gets to be the king, even at the cost of getting laid by foreign forces. This necessitates political stability, and loosely informed brats equate it with dictatorship. There are far more important things that need discussion and debate and not just who forms the govt. next. A country which still idolizes entertainers and cricketers can't think to that extent.

I am sorry to disagree with you at this conjecture of ideologies. I have always been an admirer of your thought clarity and building but I have read my quotas of books and documents, seen enough to express the following points:
    1. Humans are the same everywhere other than some physical mutation due to geographical conditions. So, considered the proximity of indian and chinese civilization, we can say we are essentially the same in terms of cognitive evolution today as well as 1940s when both of us were born anew.
    2. Approx 80 years down the line, we observe that there are some sharp differences in our status, society. China has become a power on the global stage while we are still trying to look bigger than what we actually are.
    3. Governance has played an important role in this and considering and both countries had initially largely socialistic leaders, the organisations of power played an important role in shaping the future.
    4. Even though we may not agree, all the powers that we think are democratic are largely autocratic may it be USA or any other country.
    5. Even though dictatorship is not the solution we may need today, as its a double edged sword and most countries likely end up on the unfortunate end, the reward of lottery are just as scintillating.
    6. What we require is not my place to suggest but sometimes venom is the antidote to itself.

The only reason why so many people are favouring authoritarian rule is because people have started to realise democracy can really not be possible in such a diverse country with all sorts of people. Even if the country would have been united, people who take inspirations from American politics are the ones ruining the political scene in India. Platforms like Reddit have catalysed this process because we have seen how freedom of speech and media can easily be twisted in either the left or right's favour and no actions taken against either. People have to match their ideologies or else they will act in the most retarded way possible.

But India is way to diverse, If Brahmin will be dictator, he will kill muslims and enslave Dalits. If tamil guy become dictator, he will force everyone to learn Tamil, if sikh guy become dictator, they might turned whole india into Khalistan, if Muslim become dictator, they will start ghazwa e hind.
