Love this episode, the storytelling is fantastic!! And I like the moments in your episode where you compared Chinese and American cultures, that will make the audience feel more related and drawn to you two. Btw, The part Paul sang karaoke to all the aunties was hilarious lol
Great storytelling! I am an avid Amtrak rider and if you book far enough in advance, I've gotten a coach ticket from NYC to Chicago for $95. Still not as cheap as the slow train in China, though. I've met people like the aunties in the observation car on Amtrak but at least I could return to my seat and get some space. 😅 What a fun story you have to tell and remember forever!
Nice, one part I decided to cut out in editing is when we talked about how I too have fond memories of taking Amtrak cross country to visit MY grandmother. I loved how you could walk around and hang out in the observation car or the dining car. And they’d do shit like host bingo tournaments. But of course as a kid I had no concept of price, comfort, or convenience, so not much real intel there.
@jinglesparkle It depends on where you're going. From NYC to Chicago, you are just on one train. I suggest looking up a map of all the Amtrak routes across the whole US. That's helpful to get a visual of it. Sadly the online booking isn't as up to date and sometimes gives weird routes for stuff.
Big bucks say this channel is going to be something huge and amazing. I love the storytelling and how you interlace the footage of a chaotic train cabin and the cozy home, it really adds great style. Love the two of you as well! Warm and adorable!! Looking forward to more episodes!!
I look forward to the day when video has an olfactory component so that I can rewatch this video and get the full effect! The storytelling had me almost there but I couldn’t nail the scent of the “Slim Jim” noodles. Thank you for another fun, vicarious adventure Jing & Paul!!
i am genuinely baffled by the fact that this channel has less than a 1000 subscribers, I am obsessed with the look of your videos and the sound design is so good as well!! I spent a year in china when I was younger and I have taken this kind of train multiple times in that year and I honestly have such fond memories of it. Its the kind of experience not a lot of people outside of China get to have and I honestly would like to take one again on my next visit
That's cool! I hope you get to visit and take the train soon/ I already know it's going to be an emotion rich trip :) Thank you so much! I'm baffled too lol, but it's OK we will get there.
Another awesome video! At the beginning you made the slow train seem like such an exciting adventure and I was eager to suggest it to my wife and son. Then, by the middle I was thinking, no way! lol....I'm glad you made some new friends by the end of the train ride. That is such a fun memory.
haha it still can be exciting! you just gotta prepare to sacrifice a little privacy. I recommend going in a group of 6 and try to buy the 6 beds in the same room. I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
@@jinglesparkle where are you guys? I'm waiting not so patiently for the next video!! lol....hope all is well...there's a holiday coming up here in China May 1st. Maybe we will try the slow train...I don't think I can...
This was a fantastic video, love the way both of you shared your experiences while rding the sleeper rain. in terms of the video quality, this was fantastic, i don't understand how this video received this little attention, i'm glad i came across this channel. can't wait to what your other journeys would be like.
Omg thank you so much!! I’m so glad you came across our channel too 😊 honestly I think so too, but good things take time, and I’m currently chill about it :P

Curious, do you have layovers when you do that? Or lots of train changes? That was something that confused me when I was researching.
