I’m BRAND new to crochet and spent my entire day yesterday making 9 total granny squares so hearing how quickly you worked gives me hope that I may actually get faster at this. You’re brilliant Also I LOVE your nail colors. So pretty.
Thank you so much for this suggestion it's absolutely perfect and truly captures the essence of the blanket! The pattern is officially named Pastel Meadows Throw 🥳Drop me an email at info@willowcrochet.com to claim your free copy of the pattern 😊
The different 'weird' colours between the colours (around 6:24 ) might be caused by the way the original drawing was saved. If possible save the drawing as .PNG instead of .jpg. This should make a picture with only your intended 6 colours, and without the weird transition between colours.
This is so cool and makes me yearn to make a graphgan... even though I've only been crocheting for a few weeks now!! Thanks so much for the in-depth explanation of the process.
Wow, I didn’t even know you could make patterns like this. Learn something new everyday! I think the best picture of the blanket is the dog on the blanket 😂 couldn’t wait to test out the new blanket. Cute 😊
I’ve done the math! 26hrs 50mins=1610mins=96600sec 162st*225rows=36450total stitches 96600/36450= about 2.5 seconds per stitch! And that’s NOT including time needed for color changes! I’d say that’s pretty stinking fast 🤪❤️
Okay this is very cool now that I see the finished product. I love being able to draw your own design using Stitch fiddle. And I understand graphs a little better now.
Just found you. I’ve had a smile on my face throughout! Love ur voice! And ur dog! And this is an inspirational video. I’ve finally seen how it’s done! Thank you!
Your work is awesome, but what warmed my heart is your dog and your love for her. Even letting her add personal touch/ hair to your newly finished blanket.
This was super super interesting and Ive learnt so much from this vid, I do make graphgans and I use stitch fiddle. But I mostly wing it.. I really want to pinch my daughters ipad now whilst shes overseas and make some flower blankets :) thankyou for this. Love it all.
This was my first graphgan. I loved it.. Her pattern was easy to follow and all her tips were perfect. I've ordered her other rabbit pattern and I'm excited to do that one next. I love your patterns. Keep them coming 😊😊
I loved watching this process. It has inspired me to try what I have been putting off for a while, due to not fully understanding. This video has helped me so much. Thank you!
I have never done a graphgan before, not even thought about it! I will have to give it a go. I actually started looking into it because I want to make myself a Christmas jumper for next year and was trying to find patterns. I haven't been very successful so far, so I thought about making my own.😊
just found this,I'm a keen knitter and crocheter it's nice to see someone else work, and I I'm guilty of not resting my hands when I should!it turned out lovely 🙂
Just found this video (& therefore your channel) today. This is lovely, & first time I've seen a crochet chart - I've done needlepoint from a chart so could see myself doing this. I look forward to seeing what else you do. Thank you
Loved watching this video! The process from design conception (on the iPad) to the color choices, crocheting to the final product! How beautiful this blanket is!!! Thank you for sharing this work of art!!! 💗💗💗
WOW you crochet that blanket. i have to say the blanket looks better than the picture i would call it flowers gilmoreor the flower garden thank you for such great work . i hope i can learn and be able to make a nice piece like you
Thank you so much for doing this video! I have never been that interested in learning about computers and technology but bc I love crochet so much. I now have a great reason to want to learn so I can expand my crochet talents. Ty! Ty! Ty!
Hi Lauren, the blanket looks beautiful. The name pastel meadows describes it well. Isn't it amazing to see how our pets always think that we make things for them? And don't care about all the hours that were put into it? Very humbling. ☺🤭
Absolutely love the design and finished project! I was just telling my mom there has to be a way to do your own designs for crochet. I found the stitch fiddle website too and noticed option for written instructions too. So excited to help use my art skills to design patterns for my mom to crochet! Thank you for such an amazing video with all these details!
This is awesome. Thanks for the video. I’d never heard of Stitch fiddle. Definitely gonna check that out. Crochet addict here and always looking for new ideas but I’m also a professional audiobook narrator and I was delighted that you listen to audiobooks! Fabulous. Keep on stitching. You’re brilliant xx
I'm really glad you found the video helpful and that you're interested in trying out Stitch Fiddle. It's such a versatile tool for designing graphgans. By the way, I was intrigued and Googled your name, it turns out I've enjoyed listening to at least one book that you've narrated!
This is a fab video, really lovely to watch with really clear information. It's been in my watch later playlist for ages and I wish I'd watched it sooner.
Your video gave me a gift idea for one of my best friends, I'm new to crochet but this is a challenge I want to try because I really enjoy crochet and your project turned out beautiful. I hope I can make it work with my own idea, anyway thank you for the video
Oh it's really beautiful and amazing colors 🌸 I would be interested to know how heavy the blanket is because i would like to crochet blankets but I'm always worried that they will be too heavy 😅
I find blankets made in worsted weight yarn are the perfect weight for me. Just the right amount of coziness without feeling like I’m being suffocated 😂 This blanket required around 13 skeins of yarn so it weighs around 1.3kg.
This is amazing! My goal for 2024 is to learn graphgans! I think I’m ready. I have two questions. How do you determine which stitch to use? Is it your choice when you create the design? Also how do you determine the size of your swatch? Thank you !
That's a great goal! Do you know what you're planning to make? You can use either single crochet or half double crochet for graphgans. If you're following a pattern, you must use the stitch used otherwise the image can become stretched, if you're creating your own design it's completely up to you which you use. Your swatch needs to be big enough to measure 4" of stitches in the middle of the swatch so I aim for 6".
I think I will start with a simple pattern before attempting anything of my own. I’m excited to start and learn as I go! Thank you for the inspiration!
So glad i did a gauge swatch before i edited my photo- I was just copying yours as ive never made one before but as im making the swatch i realise my yarn is so much thinner then yours so its almost double the stiches. That would have been a mess if i started the project lol- Ive never done this before and i want to make 2 huge blankets. Ive only been crocheting since october, this will be interesting 😂 Edit: Nvm- I just made my gauge out of the wrong yarn. Meant to use dk but didn't read the label and was using aran yarn, I'm limited on colours and dk is the only one I can get the most of (and isn't too expensive). Oh well, try tomorrow when it isn't 2am 😂
Making a blanket seems cool, cuz then you get to have a blanket on your lap while you're working.
I made a blanket for the first time like a week ago and had the same thought 😅
Until you get too warm and have to put a fan on to cool you down 😂
“What do you say about yarn, it’s soft” 😂😂😂. Finally a yarn review that speaks to me!
I’m BRAND new to crochet and spent my entire day yesterday making 9 total granny squares so hearing how quickly you worked gives me hope that I may actually get faster at this. You’re brilliant
Also I LOVE your nail colors. So pretty.
9 granny squares in a day is insane especially for a beginner. I've been crocheting for a month and can't make a granny square. Ur already very fast
Love the video. I think I’d call it pastel meadows. ❤️
I like this one a lot!
Thank you so much for this suggestion it's absolutely perfect and truly captures the essence of the blanket! The pattern is officially named Pastel Meadows Throw 🥳Drop me an email at info@willowcrochet.com to claim your free copy of the pattern 😊
@@WillowCrochet Amazing! Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful blanket and beautiful doggie. No one appreciates a blanket more than a dog! 🤗

What software is this
This is so cool and makes me yearn to make a graphgan... even though I've only been crocheting for a few weeks now!! Thanks so much for the in-depth explanation of the process.
They’re easier than they seem, it’s mostly counting and colour changes!
Wow, I didn’t even know you could make patterns like this. Learn something new everyday! I think the best picture of the blanket is the dog on the blanket 😂 couldn’t wait to test out the new blanket. Cute 😊
Agree! Love the pup and the ears hehe
Cool to find this video after purchasing the pattern! This blanket has been on my to do list for a few months now. Can't wait
Omg. How did I not know about stitch fiddle? It's awesome!
I’ve done the math!
26hrs 50mins=1610mins=96600sec
162st*225rows=36450total stitches
96600/36450= about 2.5 seconds per stitch! And that’s NOT including time needed for color changes! I’d say that’s pretty stinking fast 🤪❤️
OMG that's amazing! Now I want to time myself making something without color changes to see how fast I really am 😂
@@WillowCrochet make a video with the numbers and I’ll do the math for ya 🤪😂
How did you figure out the yardage needed?
Wow!! I can’t wait to try a graphgan one day!! Thanks for the brilliant tutorial!!
You’re welcome! I’ve got lots of other tutorials and tips on my channel to get you started 😊
