    Excellent! Rays of light through corona clouds. Captures the essence of Schubert! Or as Isak Dinesen (author of "Out of Africa") said: "All can be borne if it can be put into a story." That's Schubert, and thanks for an uplifting performance when we need uplift!!

    I am having real roubles when the pp chords come in at 1:50, its so hard to play these chords delicately and voice them at the same time, do you have any tips for practicing them? thanks alot

      Well, first of all is difficult. So it's hardly going to fix completely quickly. It will do some progress soon, but it's probably going to take months at best till one feels really comfortably here, if at all. Have patience. :-)
      That said, try to avoid direct vertical downward movement of the hand. Here, it's rather the fingertips that should "take" the sound rather than the hand going down with fingers as mere protrusions thereof. But the hand is far from being still: the wrist should be constantly moving, breathing as it were, sidewise. The idea is that the wrist moves partly along the top voice line, partly just slightly around its "central" position, so that, when the fingers repeat the same chord, they would make every new repetition of the slightly differently, avoiding mechanical exact repetition. Of course, it's better to use these subtle differences between chords in order to build a beautiful phrase, at times building a soft rise to a phrase pinnacle, at times making a soft descent in dynamics.

      @@sergeypiano thanks so much, Im getting there , would it be fair to say this is the toughest among all the 8 impromptus to pull off properly?

    • @sergeypiano
      @sergeypiano  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @amirmotahari6186 prrobably... Well, it's certainly one of the most difficult ones, inter alia because of the variety and scale of different tasks that it sets, although the tasks in some other impromptus may be even greater in scale (e.g. the G flat) albeit far less varied.
      So it may well be _the_ most difficult one, depending on how one measures it.

    You're most recent video was titled the same thing except it was D.935/4 instead of D.935/1. I'm a little confused... what's the second number? Thanks!
    Great performance. This piece sounds surprisingly similar to how I sound when improvising, except that this is eleventy-billion times better. Shubert is a genius.
    I'd subscribe, but I already did.

      Thank you!
      No. 935 in Schubert's works catalogue is a set of four impromptus of which nos. 1 and 4 share the same tonality.

      @@sergeypiano Ok, thanks for clearing that up. Them both being in f minor is a bit confusing.
