    hey to you reading this 😊 whatever brings you here, whether it's to fall asleep or to relax from something stressful, i just wanted to let you know that everything will be fine. If you're going through a hard time right now, it's okay to remind yourself that this is temporary, and there are many good and relaxing days to come. You are an amazing person and the world is lucky to have someone like you in it. I hope only good things, love and strength will come your way. :)

    I was out there about 20 years ago -- in July!! The heat was so intense and oppressive -- it must have been 120 degrees (F) -- and we only had one water bottle for each person. Apparently ,we were the only ones dumb enough to be out there in mid-summer because we didn't see another car the entire trip -- good thing we didn't have car trouble. However, the place is stunningly beautiful, as was your video. Thank you for sharing your trip with us! :)

      The extreme heat that's there, from perhaps the 3rd week of May to about the 2nd week of November, is why all these folks are out enjoying the desert in mid-Winter.

    We stopped into Valley of Fire one day last year on our way back to Prescott after helping a friend in St George move on the hottest day of the year. For some reason we decided to visit because we'd heard that that a couple of Star Trek episodes had been filmed here. It was 125º, yes 125º! We loved it, but as we were on a short hike, we had people drive by pointing at us and laughing. I have to agree. We'll be back, but next time we won't visit while the valley is on fire. But hey, the mountain goats didn't seem to notice how hot it was, even though they had their fur coats on.

    • @AdventureEveryDay
      @AdventureEveryDay  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It definitely get scorching hot there. Less crowds when it’s that hot, but not pleasant to be outside hiking! This time of year is wonderful for hiking in Valley of Fire. Thanks for watching!

    Once again, the infinite variety of desert Rimrock/Slickrock never ceases to amaze me!
    Midwinter has to be the REAL tourist season, as the extreme heat of the rest of of the year must scare those folks away--so MANY people out at this time, enjoying the desert's wonders.
    All of this fantastic stuff is worthy of the protection of the National Park Service, but if Nevada's department of state parks does the job as well, or better than the Feds, who's complaining??
    Hmm, those pueblo-style cabins built in the 1930's, they look like they might as well have been built by prospectors or the Army (as a remote post) in a much earlier time. By the time the '30's came around, I'm sure that there must have been tourists who weren't interested in "roughing-it"; I saw no evidence of electrical/telephone wiring, nor a cafe, nor a manager's office, nor sanitary/comfort facilities. I'd guess there must have been gas stations not more than 50 miles away back then, unless the guests were packed in by long-haul equestrian means. You know, until our hinterlands were completely conquered by good quality roads suitable for automobiles, a few stagecoach lines still existed as recently as the 1930's! Could these tourist cabins have been in-use, as recently as the early '60's?

    • @AdventureEveryDay
      @AdventureEveryDay  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nevada does a great job with Valley of Fire for sure. Mid/late winter is definitely a great time to visit the park. The cabins were definitely very rustic, certainly far from anything we're accustomed to today!

      @@LoveOneAnotherHeSaid I appreciate safety, but it shouldn't go to the point of stupidity. The limit of 25 (which would be mph since it is the US) translates to 40km/h, which is ridiculously slow when there aren't even sharp bends or cliff drops and many good stretches of straight road. I don't see any reason this should not be 60-65 km/h (40 mph) easily without compromising on safety unless Americans are terrible drivers. I have driven extensively in the French and Swiss Alps with a lot more curves, inclined roads, and vertical drops but the speed limit is still 60 km/h (roughly 40 mph), and the road safety there is perfectly fine.
      I am in my mid-40s with more than 25 years of accident-free driving experience but you could call me a youngster at heart.

    Really beautiful country. But 25 mph all that way? I'm afraid that slow for that long would stress me out. 30mph or even 35mph in spots would be realistic.

      Really most people treat the 25 MPH speed limits as more of a suggestion, and they go about 30-35 MPH (or more).
