The Secret Seven - Enid Blyton Audiobook reading Abridged 1985 (Tape DTO 10501)

  • Enid Blyton's The Secret Seven - Book 1 of the original Secret 7 series (also referred to as Secret Seven adventure No.1 on the inlay card).
In their first adventure, the Secret Seven get on the trail of strange clues, which lead them, in disguise, through the snow, to the old house, and mystery.
Read by a single narrator but sadly no info on the narrator or the adapter. Recorded/released by Pickwick Ditto Cassette Packs. This shortened reading runs over 2 cassette tapes with a 1hour 10 minute run time. It was later re-released on a single cassette with different cover art.
This is shared from a recording of a cassette tape, so lots of old-fashioned tape noises and hiss, not too bad sound for a 35 year old tap and still very listenable. This reading is enjoyable telling for childhood nostalgia and relaxation or for excitement in new generation of imaginative listeners.

Thanks for the nostalgic memories. Not heard this since I had it as an audio tape probably in the mid 80s...also recently rediscovered Five go down to the sea on TH-cam...another classic childhood memory.

Wow This takes me back to the late 60's when I was introduced to Secret Seven at 10 years old, then followed up with Famous Five. Not sure why but I still enjoy these stories in this day and age. Thank you so much for putting these up along with all the others...

just found it on youtube. It brings back the old memories of when I was in elementary school. So addicted to this secret seven adventure, until we (i, my cousin and one of my neighbor) set our own society, imagine that we will be like the secret seven....ha..ha...having such a meeting and also making a drink made of raisins, sugar and hot water, just like Peter's and Janet's mom gave when they have a meeting.
Thanks, Rene for uploading it on TH-cam, I never heard this before. I only read the books...full series of the secret seven.

I remember listening to these back in 1983, when I was 7 - 8 years old! Loved them and kept our brother and I quiet and out of trouble for hours and hours. They don’t make me like this anymore. In fact, considering some of the old school content, I doubt these would be published now. They’d have to be severely edited by the PC brigade......who in turn, would ruin it.

I would love to be able to buy the books but please if you can find the audiobooks please upload them 🙏

Hi. no info can be found on who the Narrator's voice was because they usually just had actors come in and do the tape & paid them a small fee, so it would probably be an unknown actor who could then credit the work to their CV. :-)
