I’m an artist that does typographic portraits…. and using Fresco has been a game-changer for me. Vector is so needed for my work (for both screen printing and the ability to enlarge the final art at a moments notice. I did a portrait of Bob Dylan as a limited-edtion screen print that the Bob Dylan museum sold… and then they decided to make it part of the architecture on one of their walls. I just sent them the file… and they were able to do the rest. I still love ProCreate and use them for my other kinds of illustration, too. So having both is a full tool kit for me. Thanks for the videos… and the good news!
Maybe. Maybe termporarily? I would look at Adobe's longterm behavior. My gut feeling, and I'm wrong most of the time is that once there's no more/less competition they will go back to their regular behavior and start charging again.
Hello Chris! I'm starting to use Fresco on my iPad and also on my PC. It's really cool! I'm an old dinosaur who's been using Illustrator and Photoshop since the 90s. I recently tested Clip Studio, which has really good rulers that I can't find in any other software. It also has vector brushes. But Fresco has a more minimalist interface, reminiscent of the excellent Sketchbook Pro. However, I think the issue of interaction between Adobe's other software is very important. Despite the recent problems with AI, Adobe continues to evolve and add amazing tools to its apps. Illustrator has received new items that will certainly be very useful for the illustrator's day-to-day work. A big hug and congratulations on the channel, which I always follow! From Brazil!!
Thanks! I’ve also been using Adobe stuff since the 90’s. I was told that Adobe is committed to keeping Fresco AI free in order to keep it a pure drawing/painting app.
Be careful with CSP's "vector" layers. Yes, CSP promotes having vector but it's not actually vector. It's more simulated than native. You can zoom in and see the pixels after exporting. Just forewarning you. I use Fresco for anything I'm doing vector... Nothing beats Native vector being hand drawn. Just make sure all your sizing and ppi/dpi are right in CSP, that's the best backup for printing, like a failsafe. If you go 5-10k pixels with 600 dpi, you can print damn near anything, regardless of other settings.
@@CEO_FADeD Hello! Thank you very much for the information! I checked and the CSP vector is indeed pixelated. As an old Illustrator user, I understand what you say. On the iPad I think Fresco is the best option. Thank you and success to you!
Michael Crichton's book Jurassic Park was released in 1990, the same year Adobe released the first version of Photoshop. So technically, Photoshop was around when dinosaurs ruled the earth.
How Awesome!!! I will start Fresco very soon, as soon as I get my iPad, and now I'm even able to use all my Photoshop brushes for FREE! 🎉 Thanks again for this video, keep on creating your brilliant stuff!
Hi Mr.Piascik, I’m an avid illustrator user and have learned a lot about using fresco with the help of your videos. My gripe with iPad illustrator is that it doesn’t allow that quick delete of overlapping lines like fresco but fresco doesn’t have the shape tool like “elipse, square etc…” Hopefully they combine best of both or just make one overall app
I could listen to your for hours Chris, actually I have. lol I love your smart kinda nerdy in a good way style and insight. I’ve been self teaching for 3 years and you have helped me tremendously… and for that I thank you!
Great video! I discover Fresco about 1,5 year ago. I took your skillshare class and it changed everything. Animation in Fresco is so much better than in procreate. There is only one thing I'd like to have. In skin onion mode the previous frame can only change opacity, I'd love if it can be in different color like it works in Adobe Animate for example.
Adobe has always had free apps available, a notable one that I often use is Capture. Fresco has always been 90% free, it just had a premium version that allowed you to import brushes for $10/year… which is minimal to say the least for such a powerful application.
as a north carolinian they also lost kyle t webster to procreate which i think is cool. adobe has been price gouging creatives for a while with prices and stuff but it's nice they made it free. I definitely prefer its motion stuff over procreate
Yeah absolutely. This looks like an Uber situation to me. Come in super cheap or free, replace the competition. Raise the price when no one is left. Profit.
@@gabehobbs I mean, I’m talking more of a Google/Gmail/IG/FB/TH-cam thing. They don’t ask for even a tiny fee or subscription to get in the door because your habits are sold as packages of data to advertisers. You’re the real product.
@@herogear_art yeah, that too. I was mostly piggy backing off what you were saying. I think the same thing about google photos. Got everyone on that train for free, upload years of photos, and then...pay me.
Honestly, I’ve tried both. I’ve tried to keep an open mind about Fresco and I understand it has its good points with vector and animation, what it comes down to is I just prefer the way Procreate reacts to the pen on the tablet. It just seems smoother, reacts better, quicker, more precise. I can’t put my finger on what it is exactly but to me, it just draws better.
I have a love hate relationship with Adobe. I started on Illustrator 1.0 in 1987. It didn’t even have color back then. So i guess i’m one of those dinosaurs ❤❤
Cool! I’m glad it’s more accessible. I dabbled with Procreate for years but Fresco clicked way more trying it again a few months back and has become my favorite drawing tool. Any recommendations where to find some good vector brushes? I grabbed Chris’ sharpie brush pack but haven’t been able to find many others. My understanding is that it used Photoshop brushes for pixel art but does it use Illustrator brushes for vector art or do they need to be specific?
Unfortunately you can’t currently import vector brushes (aside from presets like mine). I think this has to do with the fact that illustrator uses stroke and fill whereas fresco vector is just shape based. There’s likely not a lot of other presets (if any) because there’s only so much you can do without being able to import shapes to use with the vector brushes and I don’t think people know you can save out a library of your brush presets. I sort of figured that out by accident.
Thanks! I just finished watching your “How to Make Custom Vector Brushes in Adobe Fresco” video before reading this comment which made it clear why fresco vector brushes are not really a thing. Your explanation confirms my understanding from that video too
I always loved using Fresco and now seems the recent update removed the ability to send vector drawing which is drawn beyond the art board on Fresco to Illustrator desktop or iPad without cropping it! It just crops the drawing which is beyond the art board during import.
Im here trying to learn Adobe Fresco purely for the reason you highlighted it supports VECTOR artwork which is what I need for T-shirt and Sticker printing (yes I know I can still use pixel format for printing - but vector is going to be way better longterm). Procreate was my initial choice because its simple and easy to use. I'm finding it difficult to recreate the same work in Procreate in Fresco
Okay I like that "Shapes" part. I have brought some Procreate brushes that are shapes and images especially for characters and wished I could use them in Fresco. Is there a list of the brushes that Adobe has? I guess I will check out the Adobe website!
I pretty much started digital illustration since 2010 and got more into it in 2016 just for fun. I have been drawing using only Adobe Photoshop since I’m an interactive designer and I use my desktop and my laptop and a Wacom tablet. I recently bought an iPad last year and instantly bought Procreate and the Apple Pencil so I can go to places without lugging my bulky laptop case. I have Fresno since it came with the bundle but never used it. I absolutely love Procreate and it didn’t take me long to find all the tools to go to Photoshop and Procreate. Is Fresco similar to Photoshop and Procreate? I could check myself but I don’t want to dive in since I have been busy and most everything I have now is in Procreate, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
No, there would have to be all new terms and conditions and that would be have to be clearly spelled out. You can also opt out of any data being collected across all adobe apps you use in your privacy settings.
I started using Fresco only because they discontinued Adobe Draw which was free as well and nobody complains about free software just like how the Affinity software was free on mobile when they first released. What I do like that Adobe did was it imported all of your work done in Adobe Draw and you can seamlessly pick up where you left off in Fresco. Lastly folks just need to pick what software works well for them and the work they do and not bash the others for the sake of content. This was an honest review of what works for you and not a bashing session which I appreciate that you're not like other content creators whining about software nobody is forcing them to use
I'm surprised people are saying Adobe doesn't have enough brushes when there's an entire page dedicated to just the official brushes that's over 800+ and are all wonderful???
@@chris-piascik Exactly! I remember even back in deviantart days people were already sharing brushes. They are everywhere that even software like Clip Studio paint supports photoshop brushes due to sheer amount!
I prefer Fresco for the realistic oil and watercolor painting experience it provides, and making it free is going to be a good thing in the long run especially because subscription-models on apps across the board are starting to see a growing pushback movement from customers lately, and Adobe is one of the big ones often called out on it, but in terms of Fresco, I am actually still surprised by how many people don't even know about it. You say Adobe and most people immediately just think Photoshop, Illustrator, or Lightroom, maybe making it free and giving it some more promotion might increase its user-base.
I actually have a mega pack of all the brushes I use available from Retro Supply Co. (and if you tune into my livestream tomorrow I believe I’ll be announcing a big sale on that pack)
Hi Chris, Your tutorials really made me want to use Fresco but I couldn't find a way (without using Illustrator) to export to SVG. It's been awhile since I played with it. Am I missing something? Thanks!
Currently the only way to export a vector file without sending to illustrator is as a pdf. I did however bring up the need for an SVG export option when I was with the team at Adobe Max and they seemed onboard with making it happen.
This is a typical way in which Adobe links the free Fresco with the paid Illustrator on the ipad. The only option is to export it as a PDF and then you can edit the graphics in Illustrator as elements, not as paths (which makes sense as Fresco doesn't recognize paths). In this respect, exporting Fresco from the Ipad to Illustrator makes no sense either. The only sensible thing to do is to finish the graphic in Fresco and export it. What I find worse, however, is that Fresco has such poor import options.
I talked to the Fresco team about this at Adobe Max and it seemed like more of an oversight than anything else. I think that an SVG export option should be coming soon.
Is Fresco still under active development? Kyle Webster, one of the main drivers behind the project, left Adobe and is now working with Procreate. Although the deal is great, Fresco still does not feel natural to me. I have Clip Studio and Procreate and these just connect more to the way I work. As for the integration: if you are a CC subscriber this is a nice thing, otherwise the process is less smooth. Anyway I do not really trust Adobe anymore to do many good for the creative community so I hope this is not a poisened chalice...
Fresco is very much under active development, more so than ever. Kyle is a friend, and although he did a ton of work on brushes and more, he wasn’t one of the people leading Fresco development.
Left very bottom of screen (brush settings)> Shape dynamics> Minimum diameter - set to 100% Or Size control - set to none Or Practice and patience. Maybe try a drawing glove Or increase the smoothing -on left 3rd from bottom
Not that being out $10 this year breaks the budget, but I haven't seen them say anything about the customers that had active subs (i.e. early adopters).
We can use already make vector character and animate it ?for example I take a vector character from other software like adobe illustrator and can I animate it on adobe fresco?
I still remember 2 years ago I downloaded adobe fresco and so excited to use it and once the download is complete I wanted to try immediately but I cant because you need to register first. Until today havent use it still on my icloud😂
I think because Fresco was built from the ground up for the iPad that physical buttons and traditional (non gesture) weren’t considered. It would be cool to be able to set them up though. You should put in a suggestion in the app!
@@chris-piascik the thing is, there is a keyboard shortcut for pc version. but somehow it doesn't listed as shortcut for iOS version. It got me frustated bcs I love this app so much.. already did put it in suggestion tho..
My main issue with Procreate is just a lack of basic stuff, which makes doing some things needlessly hard. Wanna do a quick drop shadow cause the text doesn't stand out from the background? You gotta do that by hand, 1989 style.. There are some things that are just straight up missing in Procreate that I don't think will ever actually be added. I still use procreate more than any other app, but there is a lot of tedium there, and I've been moving into Fresco more and more again. Now that it's free, I think Procreate needs to move forward pretty quick to not lose users. The advancements in Procreate Dreams also needs to speed up a lot, cause the software itself is super cool, but again, features are missing. Can't even select a bunch of clips/pics on the timeline and move them all at once yet. That's one of those insane things that the Procreate devs seem to just glosss over, almost as if they never use their own apps... They also need to fix the animation recording feature, cause small movements are just straight up not recorded at all for whatever reason. Anyyways.. I hate Adobe and I would love it if Procreate and Dreams was better.. That's all.
I’ve tried Adobe Fresco a few months ago to do some animation, but unfortunately, the animation took a lot of space on my tablet…. And I had to delete apps on my tablet just to make room for the animation. Procreate doesn’t have this issue. Is there a way to do something similar on Adobe Fresco?
This is absolutely fantastic. I already subscribed to the full thing (thanks to your videos), but I have questions (though not really expecting answers, just voicing them). Like why now? Since when does Adobe make anything free just because it's 5 years old? Is Fresco being sunset for something else? Is there something like a Fresco *Pro* coming? Are features no longer coming to Fresco? (I've noticed that "what's coming" page has gotten very quiet and has been for a while) For those of us who were subscribed, what happens come renewal day? Do we have to manually unsubscribe or be charged again or will it not matter? (my iPad says I'm still slated to be charge $10 for the renewal ) Does the free version still include the 5GB(think it was 5?) of cloud space (I can't find this info on the site)?
From what I understand, Fresco was a bit neglected in terms of promotion-maybe because people were slow to try it-but now it’s become a priority and the Fresco team is very enthusiastic about the app and continuing to improve it. It’s definitely not going away or being replaced. I don’t know for sure how the subscription thing will work, but I’m fairly certain it’s just going away, so it won’t have the option to renew, it will just be free. Good question about the storage. I’ll see if I can find anything out.
@@chris-piascik awesome, appreciate any info ya go! Thanks!! And that's great to hear they aren't looking to kick Fresco to the curb (cause adobe is known for doing that to us -- Ahhh Adobe Draw and Adobe Sketch, we barely knew ye ).
Sure thing! Adobe Sketch and Adobe Draw weren’t necessarily kicked to the curb, they were combined to form Fresco. When it was in beta it was called Project Gemini (the 2 parts being draw + sketch or vector + pixel).
Very nice, but i will stick with pro create. I hope they update the app to match those features os Fresco. But i will keep supporting others players than adobe.

@@AlisonBentley-c9p thanks! Quick shape just takes bit longer on fresco. With lasso brush i didn´t really mean lasso selection but similar action that automatically fills the selection. Very handy for quickly blocking shapes. You find this in many apps: infinite painter, artstudio pro, clip studio and krita. Also is wonderful eraser.

@@chris-piascik if you saving in adobe cloud you agreeing to the TOS and from what i read (and many people comment, scared about NDA and all this stuff ) you sublicense your work to adobe, and they can do whatever they want. So it is "trust me bro" that they don't use your work to train AI.
As someone that has actually been commissioned by Adobe to create art for campaigns they were doing, they required much more specific rights granted to actually use my work. The rights in the TOS are specific to their use within the app and the way you interact with it, IE generating copies, previews, etc. If what you were saying was true you can bet big companies wouldn’t still be building their creative within the Adobe ecosystem. Dig into the TOS for nearly any other cloud based apps and you’ll find similar language.
Big Procreate fan here, but this might be a game changer……if it remains free. Sounds suspicious to me like they will probably charge fees later on. But I’ll give it a a shot.
That is just boiler plate stuff that cloud based apps all state. It just gives them the rights to generate thumbnails/copy+paste etc. as someone that has been hired by Adobe to create art for campaigns in the past, I know they had to request more rights to actively use my work outside of my in app usage.
Adobe doesn't own anything you create. This is explicitly spelled out in the terms of use: "As between you and Adobe, you (as a Business User or a Personal User, as applicable) retain all rights and ownership of your Content. We do not claim any ownership rights to your Content. "
Do the terms and conditions allow Adobe to scrape your artwork for gen AI? If no then I’ll give it a shot, if yes then I’ll just keep sticking with Procreate.
Adobe doesn’t use customer work to feed their AI, that said, you can turn off all data collection by logging into the Adobe site and unchecking the box in the privacy settings.
Adobe-hating is the current “rage.” Six months from now it will be something else. Meanwhile I will continue to use Fresco as well as Procreate, benefiting from each of their individual strengths. Ironically, one of the features I like best about Procreate is it sophisticated tools for using color, complementary colors, etc. Fresco is clunky by comparison. Also, I find Fresco’s brushes (both the company’s and third-party brushes to be cleaner and better than Procreates. Plus Fresco’s automatically savaging files to the clouds, making them available on whatever machine I am using, wherever I am, it a huge advantage.
still can't come to terms with their model of having access to people's work and potential rights. Also is it just completely free on ipad? Or is it the same ridiculous model windows as well?
Fresco is free. The brushes from premium are now included in the free version. Any other subscriptions have to do with storage/Creative Cloud/Adobe fonts.
The only rights they have access to are the rights to use your artwork within the app the generate thumbnails for you, copy and paste, etc. It’s standard cloud based app stuff.
Ok, Adobe Fresco is free and you can use everything forever but, i want to know if Adobe can access my art and use it to train AI? i don't want them to have access to my art without my permission.
Why am i annoyed. 😂 Just because i paid and i have the full suite subscription. Now its one less thing i use in the package. 😂 btw all your new animations in fresco is really amazing😮 loving it!!!
the issue with adobe is that they are using data for AI harvesting, making it free now that the app is irrelevant because of mass migration to procreate is just another way of collecting user data and profiting from it.
I tend to be negative about developments like this, and Adobe did a horrible job explaining the cost. I wonder what this means for Fresco, and its future, esp w/ Kyle being gone. We will see...
I think part of this could have been influenced by how poorly it was communicated and also Adobe not really promoting Fresco up until this point. It seems like it’s getting more attention now and them making it free for everybody is pretty great. I met with the team at Adobe Max and they were all really excited about Fresco and just generally super nice people genuinely interested in my experience with the app and wanting to know all of my feedback and suggestions. It was a very positive experience!
@@chris-piascik Good news. I'm hoping the keep improving it. Keep AI out of the app, maybe buy the tech that Rebelle uses, so we could get dripping watercolors?

My first thoght was Adobe is went all in AI stuff it even doesn't see a purpose in a drawing program anymore. Thats why they throw out it for free. Because they dont care anymore )
I think it’s more of a response to going a bit far in the Ai direction and wanting to correct a bit back into the pure creation direction. Fresco was a bit neglected in some ways by Adobe but it’s become a priority now. They’re working on all kinds of updates and new features. I got to talk with the whole team at Adobe Max and it was all very positive.
But the great brush creator master Kyle T.Webster has left Adobe for Affinity or Procreate. I am paying 160 euros for my Mobile Bundle per year. I wish they would make possible one day 3D animation with zooming on Fresco like Nomad so that I can put my dresses and appearances/textures on my characters and add all suitable tools of Ps onto it. And something like new 3D tools from Illustration. So that they can move like real. Thanks, if some creator is reading our wishes, and I wish they will come true.
Kyle currently works at Procreate and is doing amazing stuff there. That said, he created a lifetime’s worth of amazing brushes for Photoshop/fresco which are all still available and not going anywhere. Not to mention all the brushes that have been created for years and years long before iPads even existed.
I’ve been waiting for this video because I absolutely love your videos your art style your humour every thing it’s so easy to watch you’re videos. I was really hoping you’d express your feelings on the main controversial topic being adobes claim on everyone’s work. I love adobes tools and easy use software I’m sold. But everyone seems scared of this claim to the rights of your works. How do you feel about this, is this actually not a big problem and why is that? It would be so helpful to hear the counter argument as it’s the only problem I personally have but really most people have? Honestly no hate I just would love to hear a counter argument to justify handing over rights to my works.
Thanks so much! That stuff is pretty boilerplate for cloud based apps. My understanding is that it relates to using the artwork to generate thumbnails/copy and paste/etc and is required because of the cloud based environment. As someone who has been commissioned by Adobe to create art for ads/etc. I can tell you I had to sign further documents for them to use my work outside of the use cases in the agreement. If they had the ability to do whatever they wanted with me work, they wouldn’t have needed further permission to use it.
Thanks for replying. It really helps to have two sides to an argument before deciding my own stance it was overwhelming to see only the upset. Adobe seem pretty quiet on the matter too understandably but it’s reassuring to see people especially yourself still trusting the program to have customer and clients interest mind. Do you think this format of asking further permission will still stand moving forward and are you confident you’ll get just as much work or are you afraid at all that adobe and other brands will just opt for using AI instead of paying artists?
It's great that you like Adobe, but one company having all the art programs we use isn't good for competition. Adobe is making a choice that benefits the consumer at the moment, but they have a history of not doing that. I wouldn't trust them to not change their mind.

Oh cool! Sounds like a fun project!
Adobe doing the right thing for a change? Wow
@@CEO_FADeD
Hello!
That's great! Have fun!
@@chris-piascik for sure! 🔥
You can you use the drawing aids at the bottom right for ellipse, rectangle, etc.
Great meeting you at MAX! Thanks for the stickers 🤙
😎😎😎same!
I could listen to your for hours Chris, actually I have. lol I love your smart kinda nerdy in a good way style and insight. I’ve been self teaching for 3 years and you have helped me tremendously… and for that I thank you!
Haha thank you so much 😊
Great video!
Thanks! I actually talked to the team about that very thing and they seemed to think it wouldn’t be a difficult thing to change.
The ONLY thing I hate about Fresco is that you can't use it on Andriod...Yet I love the desktop version!!
Issue with android is it's not a closed ecosystem. Developers will just crack the app and have people use it free of charge without paying a cent
Thank goodness. I subscribed here because you use fresco. I REALLY want to love it.
While it’s cool that it’s free, I’m always wary of free anything. Reminds me of that quote “if something’s free, then the product is you”
Adobe has always had free apps available, a notable one that I often use is Capture.
I think a lot of that comes down to the settings of specific brushes, but I agree both apps are great.
I have a love hate relationship with Adobe. I started on Illustrator 1.0 in 1987. It didn’t even have color back then. So i guess i’m one of those dinosaurs ❤❤
Haha I feel you! It’s been a long time for me, but not that long. I think I started playing with photoshop in the mid 90’s.
100% agree with the statements of this video. Good job.
🤝
I really happy with the new symmetry tool! Fresco is great. My wish for the future: blur tool
3D animation, puppet and lots of all suitable tools from Photoshop…
Im here trying to learn Adobe Fresco purely for the reason you highlighted it supports VECTOR artwork which is what I need for T-shirt and Sticker printing (yes I know I can still use pixel format for printing - but vector is going to be way better longterm). Procreate was my initial choice because its simple and easy to use. I'm finding it difficult to recreate the same work in Procreate in Fresco
What are you struggling with? Aside from the additional features in fresco they’re very similar
Okay I like that "Shapes" part. I have brought some Procreate brushes that are shapes and images especially for characters and wished I could use them in Fresco. Is there a list of the brushes that Adobe has? I guess I will check out the Adobe website!
Fresco can use any Photoshop brush and there’s an extraordinary amount of them out there.
Adobe making it free sound sus af. Get ready to have every pixel you lay on that software scraped and fed to A.I.
Yeah, thought the same

No, there would have to be all new terms and conditions and that would be have to be clearly spelled out. You can also opt out of any data being collected across all adobe apps you use in your privacy settings.
100% peep the TOS before using it.
@@chris-piascik yeah.. but trust has been broken at this point… for me at least
Thanks! Fresco was actually the merging of Draw and Sketch into one app. I used those for a while.
I'm surprised people are saying Adobe doesn't have enough brushes when there's an entire page dedicated to just the official brushes that's over 800+ and are all wonderful???
Also the fact that Fresco uses Photoshop brushes and people have been making photoshop brushes for like 30 years. There’s literally millions of them.
@@chris-piascik Exactly! I remember even back in deviantart days people were already sharing brushes. They are everywhere that even software like Clip Studio paint supports photoshop brushes due to sheer amount!
Thaaaank u for all your videos really thanks....
Glad you like them!
Do you have a video on what your favorite brushes are and where to get them? Thanks!
I actually have a mega pack of all the brushes I use available from Retro Supply Co. (and if you tune into my livestream tomorrow I believe I’ll be announcing a big sale on that pack)
I like the Affinity combination of vector and bitmap, especially the vector brushes which preview in real time unlike Illustrator.
Well, in latinamerica the price is different, the subscription is like 100 dolars a year.
This update is supposed to fix that.
Before same here in SEA
Realmente aprecio tus consejos de diseño e ilustración y tu perspectiva objetiva sobre las herramientas existentes
I did however bring up the need for an SVG export option when I was with the team at Adobe Max and they seemed onboard with making it happen.
thank you!! thanks adobe I love it
✌️
I absolutely love Fresco, HOWEVER! I haven't found a way to export SVGs without an Illustrator subscription and that bugs me. Am I missing something?
I’m an artist and I support you. Just subscribed
Excellent!! How can I make my stroke more uniform in fresh adobe? The strokes are shaky 😁

Try adjusting the smoothing in the brush menu.
Not that being out $10 this year breaks the budget, but I haven't seen them say anything about the customers that had active subs (i.e. early adopters).
This is what I wanna know.
Do you have an android recommendation? I love Fresco but i have a Samsung tablet.
We can use already make vector character and animate it ?for example I take a vector character from other software like adobe illustrator and can I animate it on adobe fresco?
Unfortunately you can’t easily import vector art into Fresco currently, but I believe they are working on a solution for that.
I still remember 2 years ago I downloaded adobe fresco and so excited to use it and once the download is complete I wanted to try immediately but I cant because you need to register first. Until today havent use it still on my icloud😂
I do wish procreate could have the vector and live brushes but it’s super cool that procreate has 3D models.
Yeah they each definitely have their strengths. Both are great.
just one thing I want from fresco, just ONE!
I'm a physical button user so pleaseee let us use shortcut for the modifier button..
That's all.
Yeah they lack basic things which is very useful for many users
how is Fresco with adding type? not hand lettered, but fonts? is it easy to do typography in Fresco? Procreate has lots of controls, but it's fiddly.
It’s similar to procreate. Maybe slightly better, but it’s not like working in illustrator or indesign.
Anyone know why the latest versions don't even work for me? It messes with my tablet. I have to use a version from a few updates back.
Hmm, I also converted. I pay the 20 dollars a month. But I also use lightroom and a free website so I’m okay with it being free.
For the life of me, i can NOT get fresco to work on my win 10 pc. it loads and when you try to create a new file it just crashes with no errors.
That doesn’t make sense. Adobe Fresco utilizes the creative cloud for file storage and Procreate saves everything locally on your machine.
(I've noticed that "what's coming" page has gotten very quiet and has been for a while)
For those of us who were subscribed, what happens come renewal day? Do we have to manually unsubscribe or be charged again or will it not matter? (my iPad says I'm still slated to be charge $10 for the renewal )
Does the free version still include the 5GB(think it was 5?) of cloud space (I can't find this info on the site)?
@@kalvineldridge Adobe XD....👀
I think the downside is, if you look at the new and upcoming features for Fresco, it’s blank. Probably this is its final form.
It’s definitely not, I met with the fresco team at Adobe Max and they have tons of stuff in the works.
@chris-piascik sounds good. I am hopeful.
Very nice, but i will stick with pro create. I hope they update the app to match those features os Fresco. But i will keep supporting others players than adobe.

Thb drawing side on fresco seems bit lacking compared to competition, no quickshape or lasso brush 😕
I guess everyone has different workflows, that’s why it’s great there’s so many good
Options out there.
If you hold down at the end of your stroke, a perfect circle /straight line / polygon will snap into shape. You may have to turn it on in your settings: App Settings > Input > Snap to Shape. Also, there is a lasso tool and paint selection brush.
@@AlisonBentley-c9p thanks! Quick shape just takes bit longer on fresco. With lasso brush i didn´t really mean lasso selection but similar action that automatically fills the selection. You saving in adobe cloud sooo you training their AI. I recommend to make first drawing a guy with saw on branch.
That’s not true. That’s not how it works.
Man. I just wish this was for OS as well. My iPad is not the tank it once was, and I'm way more efficient with a Wacom tablet. :P Oh well.
Yay! Still can't use it on my Android tablet, any of those!!
Big Procreate fan here, but this might be a game changer……if it remains free. Sounds suspicious to me like they will probably charge fees later on. But I’ll give it a a shot.
I stopped using Fresco after Adobe updated their policy stating that they own everything you create.
Google does
That is just boiler plate stuff that cloud based apps all state.
Didn't Adobe update is user agreement so it owns anything created in its software?
Do the terms and conditions allow Adobe to scrape your artwork for gen AI? If no then I’ll give it a shot, if yes then I’ll just keep sticking with Procreate.
Adobe doesn’t use customer work to feed their AI, that said, you can turn off all data collection by logging into the Adobe site and unchecking the box in the privacy settings.
@@chris-piascik Thanks for the info. 👍
From the Adobe terms of use: "We will not use your Content to train generative AI models"
Adobe has been paying for content for a very long time. That's why their stock library is so awesome.
This is AWESOME! I still hate ADOBE!
That delay when drawing is the major issue that keep procreate users away from fresco.
There’s only a delay if you have the smoothing turned all the way up.
Don’t know if that is only in America, checked the plan and it was over 100 dollars for a year, or 14.95 a month.
From what I’m told you just need to update your version to see the change.
@@chris-piascik thanks, it works now:)

still can't come to terms with their model of having access to people's work and potential rights.
Adobe does not and has never trained Firefly on customer content (I work on the Adobe Fresco team)

same here ;_; i got the full subscription ESPECIALLY because of fresco
the issue with adobe is that they are using data for AI harvesting, making it free now that the app is irrelevant because of mass migration to procreate is just another way of collecting user data and profiting from it.
just wish adobe brought Fresco to android... i'd love to try it but i won't support adobe AND apple all at once lolol
I prefer Affinity and Procreate.
Cool, both are great.

Hah well this one was definitely warranted!
You’re saying you can vectorize in fresco without having adobe illustrator???????
Wait, Fresco is VECTOR TOO!??? Bro, that changes everything
Done with anything adobe makes! Too little too late!
I am a skeptic. It's free until it's not
It wasn’t, now it is.
@@chris-piascik Now it is, then won't be.
It could be the best app or worst app out there. Doesn't matter. I will never trust Adobe or support their leeching off of the creative industry.
So should I cancel the subscription I’ve been asking everyone this and no one is replying 😢
You don’t need to. When you update the app it should go away.
I miss Macromedia Fireworks (before Adobe bought it) RIP
It's great that you like Adobe, but one company having all the art programs we use isn't good for competition. Adobe is making a choice that benefits the consumer at the moment, but they have a history of not doing that. I wouldn't trust them to not change their mind.
There’s so many great art programs out there that aren’t made by Adobe. Also, Adobe was the pioneer, doing this stuff in the 80’s.
It's dumb that it's been this long and you still can't get Fresco on Android.
Has Adobe made other apps available on Android? I don’t even know tbh
