You guys should release a lot more footage of the work you do. It's fascinating to see your encounters with crime in SA. Video also raises awareness of the work you do and enhances trust between citizens and law enforcement. Seriously, you guys are sitting on extremely interesting content that a lot of people would like to see more of.
So you think you're under threat by people with no power, like taxi drivers? Lol. You've been gas lighted by the people in power, your leaders, and because you're a follower by nature, you fell for it. Only a coward punches down. Don't be a coward.
Today, a taxi driver did a U-turn directly in front of my motorbike and nearly took me out. He saw me, but he was rushing and decided to just turn in front of me. Thank goodness for ABS brakes and that the road was dry, else I was for sure in hospital or worse. They just don't give a damn about the safety of anyone else on the road. I am grateful for this work that you are doing, thank you from me and my family!
Amazing work CPT! Wish Gauteng will follow suit and do the same, taxis have no regard for other drivers…personally, I’ve seen taxis not obeying road rules right in front of JMPD without the slightest care, one taxi after the other.
Very good. Taxi drivers think and opperate as if they are above the law. They do what they want and does not have any respect for other road users.👏🏻👏🏻
While I applaud the work that is being done, the fact is that no deterrent seems to be working. That chap in the video was arrested twice on the very same charges. I can guarantee you that he was out the following day doing the same thing again. We all see taxis making a mockery of our road rules every single day, past the point of it being comical. The taxi industry needs to be regulated and reformed. Additionally, it is very hard to encourage city officials to engage with problem areas.
I saw a taxi driver jump a red robots at the Foreshore with police standing by the robots they sped off after him stopped him and gave him a fine and when that same driver got to Sea Point passing me he did the same thing by jumping the red robots after receiving a fine a few minutes earlier they think they're above the law.
The real problem is the taxi owners/bosses and taxi origination that do not follow the laws themselvs. They are protected and been allowed far to much power by the anc for all these years..
JP Smith and his team are doing an excellent job at bringing these "safety hazards" to justice. I applaud them for that. However, the law's reluctance to act decisively for decades throughout the whole of SA, allowed this "above the law" culture to become what a most taxi drivers believe is now their right and therefore believe this action from law enforcement is them trying to take away their rights. Even if this action is consistently applied, it will be a long time before this culture will be eradicated. But at least JP and team made a start some time ago already. Salute.
Thank you for this it is appreciated. We’d like to see more of this. I am tired of seeing taxi’s zoom past me in traffic travelling in the yellow lane. In the evening when i go to the gym in Durbanville i am astounded to see so many taxi’s transporting people to Fisantekraal Or Klipheuwel in the pitch black night with no working lights or only one dimly lit head light, not to mention the delivery bikes zooming around in the dark with no head lights. They do this because there are no traffic police around that time of the evening to hold them accountable.
I absolutely love the increased presence, keep up the good work! I see so many people using their phones while driving (I ride a bike) & this really needs attention, please! I've even caught some traffic officers using their phones while driving.
I travel by motorbike into Cape Town every day and these taxi drivers just do not care. I have had to use evasive action on many occasions because they see you but still do not care and turn in front of you. They use both shoulders of the road every single day and this just makes the traffic jams worse. When there are no cops around all bets are off and they just disregard other drivers with their recklessness. They put their passengers lives in danger every day. 9 times out of 10 if there is an accident on the N2 into Cape Town a taxi is involved. I suggest a mandatory tracking device fitted to all taxis so that they can be monitored which should free up traffic officers to do their main job of making the roads safe.
The arrogance and criminality of taxi's is ncomprehensible. What they do and how they behave is beyond belief. Either fix these criminals or let the country become ungovernable and a wasteland.
If the South African Police and or Government are serious about stopping crime, this is where you start ! Commuters see how these drivers abuse the Law and talk amongst themselves, that message is then relayed to the pissant, who then takes the law into his own hands. So..........Well done Cape Town Government. It once again shows, how the other party operates .
Fines are useless. I appreciate increased surveillance, but daily we are intimidated by these hooligan drivers on the road. Very strict measures need to be put in place on a consistent basis. Not only after a crisis, but daily.
There's one set of laws for road users and a different set of laws for taxi drivers. They basically rule the roads, especially in Gauteng. They simply force you off the road to cut you off to get ahead of you, and law enforcers are shining in their absence. No one dares to take them on
The owners of these taxis often employ these drivers because they are cheaper and will work longer hours. The taxi owners are the real culprits. These unscrupulous taxi owners have no concern for the members of the public and no insurance.
Pre '94 we had busses and trains that operated well, were on time, clean and safe. Today it still costs 10 TIMES LESS to travel by train than on an unsafe, unreliable, dirty taxi! Upgrade the rail and bus system. Who needs (or wants) taxis??
Thank you as this is frustrating What about the guys walking in the middle of the road with a trolley of junk obstucting traffic I nearly had a accident twice regarding this On the railway bridge near Parow traffic department
So IMPOUND THE VEHICLE UNTIL THE FINES ARE PAID!!! He was stopped with no licence/PrDP/permit then released so he could be stopped with no licence/PrDP/permit WHILST DRUNK! Whats next - release him again?😂. Why hasn't he been imprisoned until his fines are paid?
Must happen every morning, they drive in neighbourhoods in Brackenfell not stopping at Stop Streets in the morning, My wife and daughter encounters every morning driving to school, and please start an ad campaign again that people must keep left and past right, maybe then our highways won't be such a mess, I think to many people bought there licence and don't know the rules
There is way more passengers than taxi drivers and the bosses about time the passengers wake up to this and hold drivers to account for there reckless behavier while in there taxis.. No fear no favor
Why are you blurring their faces? It's not like they are underage or innocent. These are taxi drivers, they left their innocence on the side of the road the moment they became a taxi driver. Nuff said.
Thank you, JP and all the many officers that risk their safety daily. Let’s now start tackling the hordes of reckless delivery motorcyclists, many of whom ride unroadworthy wrecks, and who are giving the rest of us bikers a bad name.
Being a taxi driver is a crime in cape town😢if we could turn the tables around the traffic officer would never pay a R20000 traffic fine if it was given to them
Thank you jp smith that you sorting out these taxi drivers they have no respect for other road users also focus on these shitty golden arrow drivers they 4get they driving a bus nd think its a small car them to becoming a big problem
How i miss those days when doing road blocks together with Airforce, SAPDS, Military (Infantry) & Traffic department. We planned everything to perfection those years in the early 80's where no nonsense was taken from nobody. In today's lifestyle where there's not even respect shown in Parliament how must we feel as South Africans where there's no respect??? 😢😢😢😢
The law enforcement is doing their best but require the justice system to support them by getting these people sentenced and jailed. Otherwise its simply a wasteful exercise
@JP4Safety how do report taxis in our neighborhood and how do we get someone to action these complaints before someone is hurt or killed. Here by us we are having a massive issue and not getting any assistance
We want the traffic Dept to come and see how rectless taxi drivers drives in the morning in Hindle Road,no respect for other drivers and driving over red robots
I'm so tired of the taxi drivers they think they own South Africa and can do what ever they want to.They target the small townships now forcing the people to take the the taxis or else...The taxi owners in the small townships outside of Cape Town are threatened by them; if they don't tell the people to use their transport to work.
since the last taxi crack down the taxis have of recent taken to be hooligan drivers again...overtaking on solid white lines with a full load on a blind rise. Attempting to squeeze into a left lane from a right lane at a traffic light in order jump the queue and cross the light and still aggressively hooting when not allowed to take the gap. Sneaking in from a one way lane into a right turn when the light is changing from amber to red. Driving over the pavement to skip a traffic light. The list is endless. Who do they think they are????? tsek!

All the years the Taxis got away, and the law did nothing, now they are reaping what they showed
Well done City of Cape Town. South Africa needs discipline.
Thank you for listening to us. We have been under threat for soooo long.
So you think you're under threat by people with no power, like taxi drivers? Lol. You've been gas lighted by the people in power, your leaders, and because you're a follower by nature, you fell for it.
Only a coward punches down. Don't be a coward.
10/10 Cape Town PLEASE PLEASE KEEP ON MAKING A DIFFERENCE you are all rockstars many thanks
You have the support JP ..an i thank you.

Was this in Cape Town?
@@patrickcannell2258 Yes - Claremont main road
Regular occurrence for me in Cape Town. I’ve seen cops watch this happen and do nothing
These taxis are a law onto themselves in the mornings between 6&9am drive like pigs.
This what effective law enforcement looks like. Anc take note.
Thank you JP and law enforcement team, please be safe out there
Hats off to our city of Cape Town law officials. The work they do is not a walk in the park.
Great stuff!
Well done JP and the boys.
And this my friends, is why the Western Cape rocks
So glad you are using social media to influence opinion. Don't give up the fight!
Now the ANC government wonder why there is so many accidents and kids dying. All comes back to lawlessness!!!!
Amazing work CPT! Wish Gauteng will follow suit and do the same, taxis have no regard for other drivers…personally, I’ve seen taxis not obeying road rules right in front of JMPD without the slightest care, one taxi after the other.

THEY MUST GO TO SEA POINT: SHOCKING HOW THE TAXI DRIVERS MALE THERE OWN RULES AND SPEEDING❗
I absolutely love the increased presence, keep up the good work!

As the informal settlements grew so does there taxi volumes Cata and Codetta the biggest problem on our roads
oh man the DA is a perfect party to fix the culture of impunity in SA
If the South African Police and or Government are serious about stopping crime, this is where you start !

Ya. In Joburg things are done differently.
The cops take coke money
How do you drive without license
These videos are important 🙏
There's one set of laws for road users and a different set of laws for taxi drivers. They basically rule the roads, especially in Gauteng. They simply force you off the road to cut you off to get ahead of you, and law enforcers are shining in their absence. No one dares to take them on
More strength to all in law enforcement !!
Thank you for making honest men out of them
We applaud you!🎉
Taxi owners should be held accountable for their drivers. They employ these guys knowing they don't have licenses and pdps
Now tiime to move into SECUNDA. You will make millions and flush out the corrupt municipality as well.
The owners of these taxis often employ these drivers because they are cheaper and will work longer hours. The taxi owners are the real culprits.
These unscrupulous taxi owners have no concern for the members of the public and no insurance.
It's about time to inforce the law
Pre '94 we had busses and trains that operated well, were on time, clean and safe. Today it still costs 10 TIMES LESS to travel by train than on an unsafe, unreliable, dirty taxi! Upgrade the rail and bus system. Who needs (or wants) taxis??

Thank you, JP and all the many officers that risk their safety daily.
Let’s now start tackling the hordes of reckless delivery motorcyclists, many of whom ride unroadworthy wrecks, and who are giving the rest of us bikers a bad name.
Johannesburg should take note of this. When will we see the same action here in JHB? Probably never, since our cops are paid by taxi bosses..... . .
Traffic cop woman in Secunda driving a Range Rover and Jaguar. F........n nice hey?😢😢
Thanks Cape Town ,taxi drivers are bosses of roads in South Africa
Yeah that's how they roll and part of why South Africa is in such a mess.
Unbelievable. They just don't follow the laws.
We all know taxi's drive kak, but don't forget about the idiots that stop them anywhere to get in.
That shows you don't need a driver's licence to drive a car
No one is above the law, no matter who you are.
Well done ❤️🇿🇦
I love you guys jobs are doing well
well done keep south Africa safe GNU is working
Being a taxi driver is a crime in cape town😢if we could turn the tables around the traffic officer would never pay a R20000 traffic fine if it was given to them
shit looks like those cop shows and border security shows on CBS reality 💀
Thank you jp smith that you sorting out these taxi drivers they have no respect for other road users also focus on these shitty golden arrow drivers they 4get they driving a bus nd think its a small car them to becoming a big problem
Bravo!!!!!!!
Bravo JP!!!
thank you city of cape town.
Come to Durban please. The traffic is out of hand here. Trucks and taxis run the roads like mafia.
And when traffic officers verbally abuse good citizens?
How i miss those days when doing road blocks together with Airforce, SAPDS, Military (Infantry) & Traffic department. The law enforcement is doing their best but require the justice system to support them by getting these people sentenced and jailed. Otherwise its simply a wasteful exercise
Fantastic
nothing will change. they're too powerful, and the cops are too corrupt.
@JP4Safety how do report taxis in our neighborhood and how do we get someone to action these complaints before someone is hurt or killed. Here by us we are having a massive issue and not getting any assistance
Sir when is the video about scrap coming
Sadly Government has allowed anarchy on the roads for far too long and to get rule of law back is going to be near impossible!
We want the traffic Dept to come and see how rectless taxi drivers drives in the morning in Hindle Road,no respect for other drivers and driving over red robots
Bravoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
I see Taxi drivers as nothing else as lawless gangs on wheels. It is a bigger problem that the the citizens realise.
Traffic officers are no where in Cape town city centre. Lots of road rage and traffic violations happening unchecked. Very lawless.
Awesome 😊
I'm so tired of the taxi drivers they think they own South Africa and can do what ever they want to.They target the small townships now forcing the people to take the the taxis or else...The taxi owners in the small townships outside of Cape Town are threatened by them; if they don't tell the people to use their transport to work.
What took you soo long to do this guys?
Great 👍🏻
Need to look at Uber drivers aswell. Parking and stopping wherever and whenever they want. Doing U turns !!!!!!
Pls come to Johannesburg 😢
since the last taxi crack down the taxis have of recent taken to be hooligan drivers again...overtaking on solid white lines with a full load on a blind rise. 🇿🇦....thx to the useless policeforce..and their corrupt leader...😢😢🇿🇦
I estimate that 95% of taxi drivers are criminals. That's only because at any one time, 5% of taxis are not on the road...
💕💕💕💕💕
👏👏👏
Focus on violent crimes
Knap gedaan!
Law and order must and will prevail.
