Who, in their right mind, would keep animals! Had my dog put down on Monday, calf died on Tuesday, Shorthorn twins born on Thursday which the mother rejected. But we still do it. It's the good times which keep us going x
Sorry you've had such a bad for the lose of your calf and subsequent cow Great call Charlotte, sharing the good and bad, the highs and lows without turning into a grotesque freak show Keep doing what you're doing, your videos educate as well as entertain They sure brighten up my days and I always look forward to the next Thank you and Roy for baring your souls to the world to bring us your farming story
Charlotte - a feed bag with a few nuts in the bottom and a little shaking of the bag thereof, works wonders for sheep that cannot be shifted. Age old trick, and it works every time. Theyll follow you like angels.
Sorry you had a bad day Charlotte between the sheep giving you the run around and loosing a cow and calf. You and Roy do everything for your animals but unfortunately this was out of your control. I really hope things are getting better for you all. So glad you showed the down side of farming. ❤
thanks for sharing another great video I can't imagine to have to make such decisions but you will only get better the more you get to do I know you did beef cows so are dairy cows easier or harder to calves you enjoy your self take care and stay safe 👍🏻 😀
Oh Charlotte, what a day. Unfortunately, that saying, there's a lot of truth in it.😢 Love the presents off Wildes, I used to work nextdoor and we had machinery off them. 🤗
Bless you, what a crap day you had, well done you for sharing. Chin up girl. tomorrow is another day. Have a beer, sit and have a chat with Roy, Xxx Witchy
Charlotte your honesty and strong empathy is what makes your videos! Take care both you and Roy - such instances are so upsetting as you keep asking what else could I have done.
Great video as always. You all did your best for your cow and in my opinion you made the correct ( but hard ) decision. Keep your spirits up and look at all the rest of your livestock who are having a great life on your farm.
Nice vid lass bloody shame about the loss but you know thats the way it gose some times eney way git your self reet and go again lass ok be safe you lot
Hi Charlotte, another great video of your life on the farm. We don't need to see all the sad bits, you telling us is quite sufficient. Slowly but surely the herd is sorting itself out and you are ending up with some great looking Jersey's cows. I know you care so much about all your animals and do the best by them, maybe not the sheep. Ha Ha! Chris from Victoria Australia 🇦🇺.
So sorry that you lost another valuable animal a bad day indeed but thanks for showing the real side of farming just looked at Tom Pemberton and now he is v feeding his cows oranges maybe he is hoping for orange milk 😅 looking forward to the next video
You can't save them all but thankyou for trying and being honest about it. I hate Autumn and Winter. Today was probably the last brief sunbathing day for the next 6 months .
Ive had a few backwards, upside down calves- its pretty unusual and makes you scratch your head when you first stick your hand in. Couple of times iv managed to spin the calf by crossing over the ropes and gentle pulling with the calving aid, couple times been a vet call, think once ended in a ceaser. Thats calving cows for you im afraid.
Yup I know that smell, dairy stock are just not as robust as sucklers and it’s just something that you have to deal with even if you had gotten the calf out she looked like she had already started to go down with septicaemia so it was probably a loosing battle anyway not that, that’s any conciliation. Regards from Ireland glad to see that I was not the only one who got soaked to the skin trying to get woolly backs out of the neighbours this week, little blighters just have no manners.
Hi charlotte and roy we all have days like that ,and its easy say dont worry but we do ,then you get over it and move on to look after all the rest, I have sheep as well I like them but sometimes they would break your heart
Great video Charlotte Rubbish when you loose a cow like that but look on the bright at least it was an older one with issues that you might of ended up on the cull list. I'll top your rubbish week my dad passed away on Wednesday 😢
Sheep will get out when you don’t want them out ,when you want them to go through a gate or a fence they do the opposite keep you spirit up as you said when you have live stock you’ve got dead stock😢😢
When I handled a cow I would always use a long plastic glove saver for me and the cow when in doubt call a vet farming is not easy wishing you the best
I have found over the years that cow's know themselves when there's a problem and they don't proceed as they should! We had a cow done the same thing one time! Tried calving when not presented correctly and tore the shit out off herself! Blood drowned the calf, and she bleed to death. Very low moment as you don't like to intervene and hope all sorts itself out naturally!😪
Honestly I’m not poking fun at you, I agree with what you said. But 7:55 I am the main decision maker I think. Sounded a little indecisive lol made me chuckle.
In that situation yes it’s was more of a depends how you look at it kind of pause, are they looking at buying stuff and if so probably 40-60 but animals it’s more me
It's a lot easier pulling dead piglets out of a sow but it's still an up to the shoulder job and not very nice, have a sherry and a long hot soak and move on to the next.....❤❤❤
Old farmer near me had an alternative to "where there's livestock......" which was. "Fuckers die on yer" in the broadest suffolk. I want a reversing signal of you shouting " come on! Come on! Come on!".
Has anyone told you lately how beautiful you are? Every time I jump to see your new upload and I think how pretty you are no matter what your doing, even when your tits up in manure 😂 and your personality is just as beautiful!❤ Sorry for your bad outcome with the cow 😢 love and loss sadly.
Who, in their right mind, would keep animals! Had my dog put down on Monday, calf died on Tuesday, Shorthorn twins born on Thursday which the mother rejected. But we still do it. It's the good times which keep us going x
Aww Julian I’m sorry that’s rubbish nothing worse than loosing a pet, and your week sounds like mine with the cows
Sorry you've had such a bad for the lose of your calf and subsequent cow

After a rotten, wet, bad luck day like that, you deserve a hot bath and a good nights sleep. Good video and well explained.
Thanks, you too!

A bad day indeed, but thanks for sharing and keeping it real. You and Roy are doing an amazing job of looking after your girls there.
That's farming Charlotte, keep on showing it as it is good and the bad then people might appreciate the work that's involved. 👍.
That's the plan! Thanks for watching them Steve I appreciate it x
Thanks Charlotte for producing another very honest video of your life as a brilliant farmer - a sad outcome, but you move on. An excellent video!
Thank you so much!
Great video as always.

Excellent video again the good bad and the ugly that's farming you show it as it is 😢 well done 👏👏
Morning Charlett, you tried your best, the right decision to euthanise the cow, tough day.
Good to see the smile at the end.
Best of luck

That's a'peelin.
If you put ropes on and put both ropes on a brush shaft and turn it around like turing steering wheel should come out easier for you
Well told Char. Warts and all, much appreciated, honest. Reality of it needs telling. Thank you.
You're very welcome

Great video Charlotte you are one amazing lady
I wish I didn’t message before seeing the end of the video but we all know you did your best for your cows
Keep your head up. They won't all be bad days.
I admire your honesty.
Thanks lovely

A good sheep dog maybe would work wonders?
Hi charlotte and roy we all have days like that ,and its easy say dont worry but we do ,then you get over it and move on to look after all the rest, I have sheep as well I like them but sometimes they would break your heart
is it worth bringing them in while there calving
keep your chin up Hun, X its the hard part of farming and if you didn't have things like this everyone when do the job.
Nice to see you again ✔️
Great video Charlotte

What percentage of calves are naturally stillborn?
If the grass had been greener, they would have seen the gap and gone through.
Your not wrong
That's the way to go. Straighten it's legs out. There's more of a chance.
Decision making is not based on gender, but knowledge, experience, intelligence, and honesty
I agree :)
Old farmer near me had an alternative to "where there's livestock......" which was. "Fuckers die on yer" in the broadest suffolk.
I want a reversing signal of you shouting " come on! Come on! Come on!".
You need to pay yourself a big bonus for all of your hazardous duty veterinary activities!
That field is very close to a high speed highway!
It is indeed that’s why I don’t take the dog
Where's the dog lol
Hey Charlotte x
The harsh realities of farming with livestock
I know it’s rubbish at times isn’t it x x
The likelihood of her ever getting back in calf again anyway would be very doubtful
Your probably right x x
