- This is the first video I've filmed of this style! Shootout mode at the Strickly Sidewayz Club drift track. The tires included with these cars worked well on the polished concrete surface. A big thank you to HooptyRC from Team Bad Shoppe and Bryan C of Team Strickly Sidewayz for their driving of the cars and words regarding the cars. Im planning to make more videos like this! See which car we prefer more out of the box, the results were pretty close! Enjoy the video! :)
I got the rmx 2.0 rtr it's a great car to learn with
You should do a video rating and discussing which drift chassis are the best platforms to upgrade as you learn and improve. Like maybe phase one servo or shocks etc

Is there a more recent shootout with the current RTR offerings from Yokomo and MST?

The RMX looks like a dialed-in drift car, the YD looks like a 'loose' touring car
Yiss, out of the box we found the RMX RTR do handle better than the YD2 RTR.
what gain are the gyros running at? are they usually all set to full?
There is no digital read out on the radios or the gyros themselves but based on the feeling on each car it feels like 50%-60% out of the box. It can be adjusted tho but the higher you set the gyro the more active the gyro becomes.
@@BadShoppe i see! and i assume for competetion they dont have rules for limiting the gyro either right?
no real rule for limited gyro gain but the more gain you apply the more the front wheels make shake under drift which can make the car unstable and loose you points.
so do you think if oil-filled shocks were put on the yokomo it would be better than the mst?
Yes I think the RTR version could be as good as the YD-2 Z Kit version with plastic oil filled shocks. It would also put very close to the RMX 2.0 in terms of out of box performance but the YD-2 is not "factory tuned" like the RMX 2.0 is.
The MST RTR RMX 2.0 is far superior to the Yokomo RTR YD2 right out of the box , if your getting into the hobby BUY THE MST RMX 2.0 RTR, but after tuning the YD2 is a seriously good chassis and handles like a dream with good electronics .

Started on the mst now have a sx3 if i put shocks in the yokomo would it be better? Also on amain it says 27 turn motor y'all get a different one?
Yes if oil filled shocks are put on the YD-2 Z RTR version it will be a lot better, I will be testing and showing this theory soon. Canada did get a different version of YD-2 RTR that has a brushless sensored 13.5 turn motor/speed controller as shown in the unboxing video :)

Currently...go MST...or even a Sakura D5 over a D4. Parts are slowly drying up for the Sakura D4.
