Leffen is easily my favorite esports guy. When he loses, it's so funny to see all the salt. When he wins, it's great to see the absolutely unhinged "touch grass" contingent lose their minds.
@@chrisludwig4729 Technical has a whole 1 hour and 30 minute video documenting his horrible actions, and despite this, people do indeed look up to him for being good at a video game.

For me, I play melee. I play rivals. I do not want them to be the same game. What would be the point? Yes, take some things of course. But carve your own path, make interesting mechanics, and make a name for yourself. No one wants this to just be melee, and if you do, I'm sorry but it just isnt gonna happen.
He plays the villain persona so well, but off camera and in person when his character breaks, he’s just one of us platformer guys. Everyone loves to hate him cause he’s skilled and cocky.

@@blorblinAnd Hax is still banned. So I guess change, per whoever is passing judgement, is allowed for some but not others. Melee’s community has become one giant struggle session thanks to social media and clout chasing for acceptance from sponsors.
@@CTomCooperHax had multiple chances that he did not use in any capacity. There are countless stories from NYC players and headfigures how incredibly shitty Hax was to them after his latest ban and even when he was still on the path of being reinstated (coming into venues as a drunk wreck, nonstop harassing TO's online for a banlift, heavily insulting people who just wanted to help him). Leffen was a shitty teenager when he was banned, Hax a 30 year old man with no life outside of Melee and a scary parasocial obsession to his community status. He kept saying that he improved as a person and saw the error of his actions so many times that i've lost count of it, only to backpaddle back to obsessing over Leffen and his conspiracy theories at the first sight of inconvienince. You Hax people actively try to play it as if Hax is a poor victim of evil power hungry TO's, when Hax has had a history of using his community status against others & being a dick to people way before trying to armchair diagnose Leffen. He won't come back, too many bridges have been burned for that and that is on Hax's handling of the situation ever since that 2 hour schizo manifesto was uploaded onto TH-cam. All i hope for is that he can/has found work, new friend circles outside of Melee and a generally healthier way of life away from all the online nonsense about him being some kind of prisoner of war, because a lot of what i heard and read about the person Aziz in the past years was really concerning and saddening.
@Falcomaster-rp4fs Look, I like Melee. I was born not long before it came out, and I grew up with it. But it really has some major flaws. Only 1/4 of the cast is viable, and that's being very generous. Its technical gameplay isn't inherently bad (and does lead to a lot of cool scenarios ofc), but it makes basic movement needlessly difficult (L-cancelling for example). Some characters are literally unfinished (e.g. GnW). Wobbling...exists. The mechanics of the ledge were designed so poorly that the community had to make a ledge stall rule. I could go on. Melee is great ofc, but calling it the "gold standard" just feels wrong
Melee’s got a much more skill floor, but again there really isn’t any if you just play causally. If you want to be competitive, than like any other Fighting Game you’re going to have to do some studying and practice, it’s just in this game it’s combos rather than memorizing over 70 other MUs.
@ this statement is redundant because it’s a fighting game, even in casual; everyone’s trying to win. There’s nothing casual about constantly getting knowledge checked or camped into oblivion when I have 10 hours in the game. Melee has the highest skill floor because of L cancels and all that, rivals has the second highest because of the way people play it and also the amount of people left playing it. It’s a barrier to entry and the game isn’t even fun because of the way people play it.
@ yes there is casual level of play, like just for friends and what not. Armanda says he plays Melee maybe once a month with some friends, and admits he sees his technique decay. That’s a lot more casual than grinding the game all the time and playing in big tournaments for money. Sometimes people play fighting games just for some fun with friends, not all super up tight and competitive trying to learn the best combos and all the tech and stuff.
How to know who was likely all for reporting on neighbors in their community for not following edicts years ago, with just a mask. That and twitter posts. What’s worth mentioning is that Mango was urging viewers to get the jab really early on when places were being told to shutdown so that tourneys could make a sooner than later comeback. The irony of caving in while having the USA chant; I hated that. But for someone else to still keep up the act 4 years later is beyond dense.
Nah, the title is genuine gold
Facts
It’s so good bc I never would’ve assumed it meant Leffen. I would’ve thought it was Void immediately.

Rivals 2 is where melee players and ultimate players decided to merge, pretty cool
Leffen saying "ultimate players" about void is craaaazy, bro doesn't even play that game he's literally the world's greatest gamer
honestly if these 3 play together semi regularily it would be so good for the game. God tier content
Even tho he got clipped up a bunch, Leffens Zetter looked mad fun to watch

0:48 It's almost like some people acknowledge that Melee isn't God's gift to platform fighters and has some glaring issues or something
It's absolutely the gold standard amongst platform fighters, and Rivals only exists because of Melee so

The greatest platform fighter to watch sure, but also the highest skill floor. High skill floors don’t make a popular game.
