I use this to collect the dust from grinding concrete floors prior to floor prep. Hooked up to a shop vac i can confirm it works great, bucket after bucket of dust colleted and very minimal getting through to dhop vac

I've been using the metal version. It's been great! I combine it with a Rigid shop vac with a hepa filter and bag, and the makes the expensive bags and filters last much longer.

I have been tinkering with it in the shop. Trying out using it for different materials. Very little makes it to the shop vac.

So how did you solve the connection problem to 2.5" accessories. I have this Dewalt cyclone as well, but the hose is smaller, 1 7/8" and my vac like most has the 2.5" hose so I have a ton of attachments that are for the 2.5" hose NOT the 1 7/8" that is on this Dewalt cyclone. There are tons of adaptors the take you down from 2.5" hose to 1 7/8" accessories, but I have not found any adaptors that go up to adapt the 1 7/8" hose to 2.5" accessories and connections of tools like my Dewalt Table saw. So, all my 2.5" accessories are useless.

The 2.5 hose fits over the input and output of the cyclone.

That's true but if you abandon the 1 7/8 in hose and buy another 2.5" hose it will not store on the Dewalt Cyclone like the 1 7/8 does. So it seems you either need to buy all new 1 7/8" accessories (which will not solve the connect to tools like the Dewalt table saws) OR you need to buy the larger hose that will no longer fit on the storage slots on the Dewalt cyclone. Doesn't seem very well thought out to me. Or they need to make an adaptor that will adapt UP to 2.5" accessories and tool inputs like the table saws. There are all kinds of adaptors that will adapt DOWN from 2.5 to 1 7/8 but not up. At least nothing I can find. @@sdavidb5620

@slhasebroock well, I have so much 2.5 stuff laying around the shop. It made no sense for me to mess around with the 1 7/8. I have been working on a follow up video. I will need to address the hose size issues too. After setting up the cycle and the first video. I have not used the small hose at all. Have to do a little edit. I did try and hook the supplied hose to my 6” Ridgid sander. It was to short.

Do you happen to know the total height of this separator? Looking to see if it would fit under the wing of my table saw.

I'd like to know that too. Similar problem here: I'd need it to fit under a bench, which has only 660mm clearance.
