- Hi! As the game is finally officially available, I've decided to share my own experience from the game from beginning to End.
I did absolutely everything from the game, recorded all the important stuff. If you don't want to get spoiled althought it's from a game that already existed, don't go on the internet.
I hope you appreciate my videos content, not an easy task to do but I'm here now.

Normal type gym leaders are always the ones I like the most (they pack hard-hitters too). Larry didn't disappoint (he's my fav gym leader rn).
He is elite 4 member too
But he have flying type here lol
Water is my favorite type but Normal is a very close second, this is honestly my favorite assortment of Gym leaders (even all of the starters are based on different types of entertainment: Singer (Fire), Grass (Magician) and Carnival Dancer (Water), they really outdid themselves in terms of the concept, incredible!!!
[For me, my top five personally is Iono, Larry, Rhyme, Tulip and Grusha] All of them are too good!!! 🥰🥹

Norman: my gym should have a dojo aesthetic, so it can tell the challenge trainers get despite my normality.

It was the same for Gen 5 first Gym (In the first game, not the second).

Just so you all know, Katy's name comes from "katydid," the name of a common bush cricket that looks like a leaf. Hence why it's a fitting name for her as a Bug-type Gym Leader.
I don’t trust a bug type leader to make very delicious pastries tho…

@@hunterhq295 some countries serve chocolate-covered insects/spiders. I’ve heard that insects can have as much protein as red meat and require much fewer resources to maintain. Obviously, you just have to get past the fact that you’re eating bugs.

I like how most ace pokemon are not the type the the gym but get that type after terastelizing its cool to see more variation in the pokemon they use
The gym leaders actually teach you how to use terastelizing efficiently: how to cover weakness type, change dual type to mono type and boost attack moves.

Iono, Ryme and Larry gotta be the best out of all of these.
One thing I've always liked about the Gym Leaders, Frontier Brains, and Kahunas is they all have very unique personalities both in the games and the anime. I can't wait to see what kind of interactions Ash will have with the Paldea Gym Leaders.

Ryme and Larry are my favorite gym leaders in this game.
Tip: Fight the gym leaders in this order. It will be very easy that way. If you fight Grusha first you will most certainly lose, since his pokemon are in the lv 40s. I kinda figured that out the hard way when I chose to fight Kofu as the second gym leader, and Brassius as the third. Thankfully my floragato wiped kofu’s team, so brassius was a breeze. Now I gotta fight them again because my data was lost..
I love ryme, she’s an older woman doing what she loves.
Brassius sure exhibited a lot of personality contrary to his appearance. His love of art reminds me of Wallace, Mina and Burgh.
Im guessing Brassius is the love child of Mina and Burgh 😂
He gives a lot of Yuske (from Persona 5) vibes

Iono's last pokemon with the Levitate ability was absolute hell
Appreciate that Vikavolt is not in the game.
Imagine an already Electric-type with Levitate Terastilized into an Electric-type.
Not only does it have no weaknesses, but it's Electric-type attacks are boosted like crazy and Vikavolt has respectable Special Defense.
Even if iono is one of the few Pokémon characters to actually be voiced in the games, I will forever have the headcannon that her voice is Colette’s from brawlstars
When the music changes during the gym leaders final pokemon, i loved that from Sword and Shield. 😊
Ok, i admit the pokemon team goes creative in the gym leaders designs
I am so moved about this Terastallizing cuz at first you're just know what type of gym leader you're gonna fight. But then the final pokemon is going to be a surprise since anyone can terastallize into that specific type
I think that's actually the lamest part of the gym leaders cause what pokemon that final one is doesn't matter since it will become the same type and you'll deal with it the same way you dealt with their other team members. Iono is the only leader where their final Pokemon actually mattered here.

Love that all of them literally have jobs. It's like they love being a Gym Leader but they know they need to eat and stuff. So Gym Leaders don't have salaries then or something.

What are the signature Pokémon of the gym leaders
I fought Grusha for my first gym. I thought my Fire and Rock pokémon were enough to sweep his team. Damn, I was wrong. I was 4 levels below his mons and most of them had water and flying moves. I did beat him on the first try but I must admit, I used some Hyper Potion on my Garganacl. He is worthy of being a Gym leader.
This is why you invest in your team... and your bag

Just for some "F You" to the creators in my match with Iono: Made Floragato use "Worry Seed" to remove Mismagius's Levitate, then used Bulldoze by Gabite to kill Mismagius.
Gabite did get confused but it powered through 😁

Sheesh they didn’t program sleep eyes on Altaria. It’s bad enough they didn’t attempt many new animations but if you’re gonna rework old Pokémon designs keep the emotions on them.

Terrastalization could be used for great trolling during a gym leader or Elite 4 fight.
Instead of terrastalizing into the type the trainer uses (Electric for Lono for example) her ace is actually Kilowattrel and not Mismagius and it terrastalizes into a pure Flying type.

Would've been interesting if they hashed out Grushas story a little more. Most likely he had an accident on the slopes due to possibly showing off and due to that he had to give up his snowboarding career. Now he just is blunt and cold, which fits with the Pokemon he uses.

All of my pokemons is severely underleveled throughout the playthrough. So all gym leader felt like a real challange. Especially Iono and Grusha
Seems like you went out incorrect order of Gym leaders. Their level don't scaled as you trained your Pokemon in your level. Grusha is supposed to be a final one.

I hope I'm not the only on who thought that Grusha was supposed to be the 6th gym until their 4th playthrough of the game... poor ice types ;(
Ryme is interesting, the ghost type theme fits her being a rapper in ways that aren't obvious at first. In truth a lot of rappers die young, and live on through their music instead, like a ghost. Rappers today pay homage to them as if they're still alive. Think Tupac and Biggie. Her age implies she's cheated death.
I used to have this feeling where Larry is a fairy type gym leader.
It's a shame every Gym Leader except Iono uses Terastalization to essentially sabotage themselves. I would've made more sense to have the Gym Leader Terastalize a Pokemon of their type to a different type to actually throw a wrench in your plans instead of making it easier.
Larry's Staraptor with Normal Teratype is actually pretty good. Only 1 weakness (fighting) which is also covered by Staraptor's flying type attacks. And its Facade with the teratype boost hits like a truck.
@@bakabakashi3289 Larry's Staraptor isn't as egregious as the others but it's still isn't good. Staraptor gains a Fighting weakeness and loses it Flying stab so it doesn't majorly threaten a physically bulky fighting type or a straight sweeper. Also it loses some of it's effectiveness towards Ghost, again because it lost Flying stab and Tera-Boosted Facade doesn't work.
@@sapphire5780 When you terastilized your mon, you don't lose your original STAB. If you terastilized into another type that differs from the original (I.e. Staraptor into Fighting-type), defensively it will have Fighting-type properties, weak to Psychic, Flying, and Fairy. But, now it has three STAB offensively, Normal, Flying, and Fighting.
@@sapphire5780 That's not how it works, the Pokémon still has their original STAB, meaning that his Staraptor now only has one weakness (fighting) and an immunity to boost (ghost), but now its normal type attacks are more powerful while still having flying STAB to get rid of fighting type Pokémon, so yes, Larry's strategy is better than Iono's one, which is good because a hard working man is objectively better than a lazy e-thot lol
@@KevNug91 Yeah, the game explained that better than the pre-release material so I get that now. That makes this gym not so bad now

I'm unamused by the fact that this guy never anticipated the terastalization of the TYPE the GYM LEADER is supossed to be and still did silly things like using a fire attack against a water type Crabominable

Again the only issue i have with this pokemon is how easy it fells most of the times whenever you battle another trainer/gym leader, eveything else its fine
me as a Ghost Type Lover, i still have to get used to the Ghost Type Gym Leader off Paldea, but as a fan of music and rhymes, i'm sure i get used to it
