- A foundational comic to really think about and understand comics: what they are, what they do to the reader, and how they do it. Love this book.

That is one of two books about comics that I always recommend. The other is 99 Ways to Tell a Story: Exercises in Style by Matt Madden.
You mentioned that one to me before AP. If it’s anything like UC, I really need to pick it up.
First time seeing someone so CALM nailing the content presented ! 🔥 ! Absolutely sold !
Thanks Don. 🙂 Enjoy it! It’s a great book.
Ooh this book sounds really intriguing! I was very much into comics and how it's made couple years ago, I might pick this up sometime next year
Definitely worth it Diya. Super interesting book that’ll change the way you read comics. 🙂👌🏻
This sounds so interesting! I really need to get my hand on it
Indeed! It’s fascinating. Enjoy Regina! 🙂
I became interested in this book while watching your episode 1 of Friends on Books and I think this video may have sold me on it. Sounds incredibly fascinating and I love books that can make such an impact as this one seems to!
Hope you enjoy it Alex!
Hi! Yes! Hello! I really want to read this book. I've started reading comics / graphic novels seriously a few years ago but I've actually read comics all my life and I used to draw my own as well. I think I will love this one.
Yes Jeroen! I’m sure you will love it. A little more food for thought than most comics, maybe, but like most comics it’s a quick & easy read. Do it! 🙂
Fascinating. It's interesting for me to think about my own storytelling history. As a preteen, and lover of comics, I used visuals in all of my earliest attempts to tell a story. I still have the notebooks. It may be a bit more interesting to you now that those early notebooks, filled with my scribbling in the early 70s, have images of warrior women, done with a sort of Norse flair. I didn't realize it until my sister found them well after I had written the Skolani, but apparently they have been in my subconscious for many decades. :)
Short but sweet! You've definitely made me intrigued about the book. Looking forward to more comic talk.
So you’ve been dreaming of large women forever? 😜 I’m about 70% through your book, and the Skolani are a force the reckoned with.
This book’s definitely worth a read if you’re into comics, or even if you’re not so much. Lots of interesting thoughts about communication.
I've been reading more comics in the recent years. Would definitely love to read this to get more out of the medium!
Totally worth it. Super interesting book. 🙂👌🏻
Merry Christmas to you! ❄️🎥🎄
Merry Xmas Safina! 🙂

Am inagining the Bayeux Tapestry as a giant flip book now but fabric doesn't flip well...
Am amazed at the collaborative effort that goes into just a panel betwen the author and other artists involved and the trust between them.
Yeah, most of the comics I really love are either writer & author in one person, or a really tight collaboration. It’s got to be a very special creative relationship when it’s two people.
