Number 6 on your list. I like to clear my desk before I go to bed. I absolutely cannot concentrate when there is unnecessary clutter on it and it literally takes less than 2 min to do it!
I have a clean kitchen when I leave for work in the morning so I don’t come home to a mess and before I begin dinner and at night also, so I don’t wake up to a mess.
My tidy habit is to never leave a room empty handed. It helps me keep everything in order almost effortlessly. I also tidy the kitchen and run the dishwasher each night before bed. Empty the dishwasher first thing in the morning. Love your tips and perspective.
I implement a lot of these tips already and it totally keeps me sane! My favorite is tidying up before bed every night. It feels therapeutic 😅 And then I wake up to a clean and organized home. If I don’t do this, I will wake up stressed by all the stuff I have to do before my day starts!
Definitely I always try to keep countertops free of clutter and only keep the necessities in view such as a kettle, fixing the bed first thing in the morning. I also have pets so sweeping is on going. I regularly go through clothing, linens; and household items for donating, recycling, or to be thrown out. Thankyou Ashlynne for the great videos. They are so helpful and informative.
Hi Ashlynne, thanks for these tips! It definitely helps to adopt those regular habits rather than deal with the chaotic aftermath! 😛 I am trying and even though I still have a lot of stuff to declutter, life already feels calmer. Have a great rest of the week! x
It is obvious that you put a lot of thought and personal experience into this list. It's remarkably wise from someone as young as you are. The point that surprised me was the idea of using your cleaning time for whatever part of the house needed it the most! That's so deceptively simple! Instead of these ridiculous, burdensome ( monthly, weekly, daily )check-off lists, just a simple "What needs cleaning the most right now?". I also liked the idea of dejunking particularly annoying areas ( I call them ' Hot Spots" ) instead of plodding through one whole room at a time, whether it needs decluttering or not. Thank you! Will watch this again!
The one-touch rule is something that I'm a big fan of! And the more you do it, the less likely you are to have a messy space, which is something that I don't really care for
I clean the house at beginning of work week and at the end. in-between I'll do a quick tidy putting things where they belong. I take note of reorganisation tasks and do that straight away if small; or if bigger have a time set within the next 2 weeks. loved your tips 💗
I always implement the making the bed rule for myself every day after getting up. Because for me after coming home from work and seeing an unmade bed or a messy bedroom keeps my mood lower than it should be. I always try and reset my room before going to bed, from the things that I have taken out from the night before so that it is easier for me when getting ready for work the next day.
My tidy habit is: make sure everything has a home! If it doesn't have a home, either find one or declutter. "The floor is for furniture not for junk" as I once heard someone say.
Love, love this video! Of course, all of your videos, are awesome!! I have 2 daily tidy habits. Making my bed every morning, and keeping my flat surfaces clean from any clutter.
Oooo super excited for this one!! I’ve implemented a few of these already (from some older videos) such as the 10/7 rule and clear counters and they are a HUUUUGE game changer!! The one touch rule sounds so genius I can’t believe I haven’t done it already but I’m about to. Thank you again for such great content!! 💃✨🙏
Same here. I keep a cleaning schedule that really isn't necessary. It just makes me stressed if I don't get something done on a particular day, even though it's already clean. Time to evaluate my system 🤣
I keep a loose cleaning schedule where certain areas are assigned certain days, but I really only do what's necessary in those areas. For example Mondays I "deep clean" the kitchen (more than just daily maintenance), but it looks different every Monday. One week I might wipe down the fridge, next week I might run cleaner through the coffee pot, or clean the microwave. I don't do all of it every week, just pick a designated space and see what needs my attention. That also keeps me from getting distracted. If I'm in the middle of one task and notice something needs attention, I'll jot it down to take care of it on its day (vs. stopping in the middle of one task to start the other, which I am very guilty of).
I love your channel. I spend all of my "free" time cleaning. Every evening. All weekend...generally every weekend. It makes me so sad. My kids are growing up quickly, and I feel like I am missing out! Our house is always a mess even though I clean constantly, and the whole family already pitches in. Sigh...
If you still feel like your home feels messy despite regular cleaning, try to take another look at things to declutter. Fewer things automatically makes cleaning easier. Walk into your home like you were a buyer. What could you do without, what could you eliminate from the space that make it looks cluttered?
I felt like this too! And I second the less things the less energy you give to them. Also, it helps having one load of laundry per day, cleaning schedules for the bathroom (deep clean each Friday). And then having a quick tidy up each evenin before down time and first thing before breakfast.
I’m pretty old now, so I can just about promise you that your kids will remember the time you spend with them (including “surprise”time) more than they will having lived in a clean house with an exhausted mom. And try to delegate household chores-a little, at least-when you can. Believe me, you will have *many* years in the future to keep things spotless.
Same here Erica, which is why I try to declutter when they are in bed or busy doing their own thing. Not always that easy when other life things get in the way. I also have a bag for my eldest things if it's in the living room and should be in theirs it goes in the bag and then they take it to their room.
Dishes in the sink before later putting them in the dishwasher is something my household all do, but no more😀. Since I decluttered my home I find keeping it clean pretty easy now, which is great.
It's an awesome rule. However, I don't have a dishwasher but I'm not always ready to handwash them, so I put them in a washing up bowl under the sink until I have enough, and then spend 10 minutes washing and drying up. It keeps the sink clean.
I always make my bed and we always have 2 small wicker baskets to put our keys and sunglasses to grab going and put there returning. This was a really good video that makes so much sense. If only I could get my husband to watch it!
Hi! I make my bed every day and my kids make theirs. I also put the dishes in the dish washer right away. We have 2 cats that shed, so i vacuum the main spots every day for 5-10 min. And besides making their beds, the other chore i give my kids is brushing the 2 cats 😆
Good morning Ashlynne happy Thursday morning and I loved your vlogs and you are amazing Supporter and I'm proud of you and your morning routine is absolutely amazing
Great habits! I experienced this today going through paperwork I was putting off, each task took far less time then I thought. I can’t believe I was putting this off and made more work and stress for myself in the long run. Love the idea of not making a cleaning routine and just doing what needs to be done when cleaning, I think I may implement this while dividing out chores among my kids 🤔
My best rule is to not buy stuff. Replace things you use that get broken or stop working but check the flow of things in to your house. If everything has its place and no new things com into your space it is much easier to keep clutter free!
I don't know why I clicked on this video because I already do all of those things 🤣 Just kidding, I love watching your videos and this only affirms my standpoints on tidying up. I am glad you mention these things and don't make me feel like I'm being a neat-freak, only that I have good habits. And I am really trying my best to convey them over to my partner (who is incredibly messy). It doesn't really seem to work though, any tips?
I can tell you don't have kids because getting them to help with cleaning is about as painful as sticking pins in your eyes. I've managed to get them to stop drawing on the walls and to take their bowls to the bench (dishwasher is apparently a step too far) but if you have children trust me the dream of a tidy home where you aren't the one doing skill the work to achieve that is just that - a dream. These are probably great tips for childless people but I spend well over ten minutes a day cleaning, and some things stay dirty for days if not weeks until I have time to clean them. I recently used a chunk of annual leave (yes, time I'm supposed to be "on vacation") to declutter as much as I could. It does feel good to have gotten rid of some stuff - clothes I no longer wore, toys the kids had grown out of, piles of paper and old drawing supplies that accumulate like snow drifts. I think I'm just about ready to accept that my home will not be truly clean again until the kids grow up and actually help, or they leave.
It's not so much like children *like* ckeaning past 8 years old, but it's a *requirement* that they put dishes they use in the dishwasher and clothes they need cleaning in the laundry hamper. I'm a mum, not a maid🙂
If it takes less than a minute do it now. And, if you are going that way take it with you. Loved all of it. You look today as a 17 year old adolescent wiser than many 40 year old women I know.
We clean the bathroom guest ready every day, it takes 5 minutes because we do it daily. We change towels, refill soap, empty trash, and stock toilet paper as well as wipe everything down. I'm always ready for anyone dropping in.
I had a giggle at #6. Classic kid free home! I used to feel the same. Why am I cleaning the house when its clean?? Then I had kids. It's not quite the same! Not that I'm an advocate of cleaning schedules either, but my house needs to be cleaned far more often with 3 little monkeys causing chaos and learning independence 😉
Ah I always always make my bed as soon as I get out of it and it makes me feel like I’ve accomplished something within the first few minutes of waking up! 😴
Hi Ashlynne i just so absolutely love all of your beautiful cleaning videos so very very much you are such the sweetest gorgeous woman cleaner and organizer ever in the whole wide world i love you Ashlynne.
Is shelving a habit? I live in a very small apt. The main living area is 189 sq feet so I've put up tons of shelves (made out of wood from trash) to hold stuff. I have to make my bed cause all 189 square feet of the main living area appears on camera during work meetings. Everyone sees everything.
L subscribed you. And can you answer my questions please? Do you take your videos with camera? Wich program you use when you make a video? How you became very cute?🥰 How big and tidy your house is?(this is really, serious question)
Whatever it is, unclutter your space and have many storages, so it makes the home tidy. Based on my experience, we have no many things/stuffs but because we have no storage and just put the things in wall shelves, the home still looks clutter :(
I don’t live my life based on anyone’s habits, life advice, beliefs and opinions because it’s not my responsibility to live up to anyone’s expectations
What is one tidy home habit that you like to implement daily or weekly? 🤍
Furniture
I have 2. Making my bed every morning, and cleaning flat surfaces, daily. Nothing is allowed on my flat surfaces, except what belongs there.
Number 6 on your list. I like to clear my desk before I go to bed. I absolutely cannot concentrate when there is unnecessary clutter on it and it literally takes less than 2 min to do it!
Daily: Clean up the kitchen and spray down the countertops.
Weekly: Meal prepping

I just love how calm and relaxing her videos are,,, she never dissapoints💞💕
Who else takes notes while they watch her videos? The tips are SO helpful!!
Fully support this!! 👏 So glad you find them helpful!

If only I could get my kitties on board to empty their litter boxes, that'd be great!
Hahahaha wouldn’t that be nice?
That would be great!
That would be purrfect!

Ashlyn, I really like the idea of cleaning what needs it. I think I spend a lot of time cleaning things that are probably not dirty!

Great job on your beautiful minimalist video and so proud of you, Ashlynne!❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much Ervin! Hope you have a great day! ☺️
You too, Ashlynne!
Hi! I make my bed every day and my kids make theirs. I also put the dishes in the dish washer right away. We have 2 cats that shed, so i vacuum the main spots every day for 5-10 min. And besides making their beds, the other chore i give my kids is brushing the 2 cats 😆
Loved this! Thank you, sweet friend!
Fantastic video Ashlynne thank you.
I have zero guilt about giving my kids tv time after breakfast (2 and 5) so I can do my 30 min tidy and chores 🤙🏽
Thank you for keeping me motivated to stay minimal ✨
love these!! especially 10/7 and one touch rule.
LOVE NUMBER 6 !!!!
Good morning Ashlynne happy Thursday morning and I loved your vlogs and you are amazing Supporter and I'm proud of you and your morning routine is absolutely amazing

Happy Wednesday, Ashlynne!
Happy Wednesday!! 🤍

Love this
Ashlynne, what was the brush you used on your chair please?
Lovely video and terrific info ☺️
I heard that you should make your bed later , it needs Time air out after skeep. Especially with sweat, germs abd all.
I read that too, but I don't have later so I make it straight away so I can come home to a made bed.
We clean the bathroom guest ready every day, it takes 5 minutes because we do it daily. We change towels, refill soap, empty trash, and stock toilet paper as well as wipe everything down. I'm always ready for anyone dropping in.
A team effort... me to my chihuahua. "Ok lets go!"
Hahaha sounds like you have a great partner in this 😉
Hi! So excited for this new video 😊
Hey!! I’m so glad to hear that! 🥰
Good tips thanks !
Just did the 60s rule for something I have been putting off for a very long time I feel very productive 😂
Hahaha yessss!! Love to hear it! 🙌
Video super ashlynne 😊😊
Thank you!!!
Thanks for this Ashlynne 🥰 I think I need a tidy rules in my new house because I live with an adult whom is more like a toddler 🙈😂
Hahaha I love that. 😅 Good luck!! 🤍
@@AshlynneEaton 😂 thank you 🥰🥰
I have really been trying to put things away when I’m finished with them so I don’t leave them laying around for me to pick up later.
I had a giggle at #6. Classic kid free home! I used to feel the same. Why am I cleaning the house when its clean?? Then I had kids. It's not quite the same! I too struggle with maintaining tidiness. I can have a section organized. But in no time it is back to being a little messy.
Ah I always always make my bed as soon as I get out of it and it makes me feel like I’ve accomplished something within the first few minutes of waking up! 😴
It makes such a difference!! 🙌
