Many commentators, including myself, have described you as "The Sir David Attenborough of Overlanders". Today I realized why: your outstanding knowledge and perfect descriptive lanuage without unecessary profanity and a still infectious sense of humour, your smile when on camera (This is impossible to underestimate or to fake the effect of), and your genuine positivity and joy for what you are doing. You are an inspiration for so many, I hope you realize this. A superb achhievement and a great body of work. Thank you.

@@skinnytroopy I don't think he's pushing the Troopy too hard, because it's already mysteriously heavy on diesel. Wish we could know what's the reason for that ☺
This is my favourite kind of 4wd content, people roaring up steep hills and though mud holes with their big 37 inch tyres for the weekend is fun but the slow grind through the desert over many days where vehicle reliability really makes the difference is far more interesting.
The cars we know, but the scenery, it is absolutely stunning watching that dramatic piece of big sky land.....if every human disappeared tomorrow, it would still be there waxing and vaining with the seasons as it has for hundred of thousands of years, it makes you humble.
Andrew, I love the content. I also love the humour! When you’re with other people the humour just flows. Not saying I don’t appreciate videos you do on your own, I do! One of the best bits I remember is where you were with your daughter, you hopped out of the car and about 50 empty Coke bottles fell out. Classic!
You should do a merchandise like a jumper and maybe polo shirt with all your 4x4 so far. Each with different car. Mercedes, Land Cruiser, Range Rover etc with your Chanel name and same cool feature on the arm for example. Good quality etc. would help you a lot. Very common in Europe and other places now. 🤘

I remember watching your first trip on the Canning Stock Route a few years ago. What a adventure I though that was.... Now even better! Thanks for taking us along on a journey that most will only dream about! George.
Kudos to the Range Rover!! almost 50y old with clearly not much love in it and keeping with all these new car and having the same fuel consumption as the LC it really is a Rally Dakar Champ!!
Yes the fuel consumption at 15l per 100kms sounds about 2.4l per 100 more than I regularly get from my new troopy. My guess is its the wider tyres. I love my skinnys. Great video
My other Troopy managed 13L/100km with even wider tyres. And heavier. But I'm upgrading to 255/85 in my phase-2 of my build. And doing some other stuff. Its just too heavy on the juice.
@@4xoverland Interesting that you're going for a 255/85. An excellent fit for LR Defenders (I actually run this size on my 110) but the biggest issue is that they're just not very common, not a typical off the shelf size as cruisers/patrols don't run them.
I run the 255 / 85 on my 105, they r awesome. Yes, harder to get and there is the extra cost. just run 2 spares and close your eyes when u pay the bill.
@@4xoverland Andrew I can’t see how you’re to improve that economy much without drastic changes. An updated Troop Carrier with the Toyota V6 diesel would be a good way to do it. Some of the 200s are doing 18/19 l/100k so your car in its current set-up sounds like it’s about correct.
Great stuff Andrew. We crossed over the Canning in 2019 doing the Tanami road from Alice Springs to Halls Creek. Amazing country. Can’t wait to return. Will watch the instalments just like the old days before streaming!
Due to an incident that occurred between me and a Hilux owner decades ago I always take pleasure hearing about bits falling off a Hilux. I know this is childish and I really do need to do some work on myself🤣
I agree 15L/100k is a lot for a Troopy on the highway. My 2019 VDJ78 gets about 11 l/100k at 100kph on standard skinny tyres - less with a tailwind and more with a headwind. But as soon as you drop onto the slow offroad tracks, vehicles with the manual transmissions do a lot better. Your main problem is the heavy wider mud tyres.
Fantastic episode, Rob sounds like one of the lads from my birth town, a bloody hilarious trip series to come. Simpson crossing and the Anne Bidel track would be as remote as the Canning
I was cringing when you were driving through those overgrown sections and can hear the branches scraping the sides of the vehicles.😮 I bet you're glad your vehicle is vinyl wrapped.😎 That burnt out Prado is a good reminder to frequently check the underside of your vehicle for dry grass or spinifex. Enjoying your journey so far. Thanks for sharing.👍
You are either BLOODY brave OR utterly mad going into the middle of nowhere !!! I would not have the balls to do that ! I wonder how many people have unfortunately died on this route due to vehicle breakdowns?? Australia is a barren waste land. Love from New Zealand :) :)
Whoa.😲 It does look extremely overgrown compared to what was shown from your previous CSR trip. Helloooo bush pinstripes.😜 Breakdowns/Repairs/Breakage Tally so far: Range Rover: 1, Hilux: 1, Triton: 0, Troopy: 0 😁
Awesome Andrew. I wish I was healthy enough to do that run, or maybe the old Gun barrel Highway. Sadly though, I'm like that vehicle mate, a burnt out wreck. ; LOL
I’m moving from one apartment to another. I.e. I don’t have time to binge watch all the episodes. Yesterday I watched the 1st one, today the 2nd. Looking forward to tomorrow evening for the 3rd. - Damn your good, Andrew! 😁
I love all your content.. $9.90 for me to take this with me and watch it while camping is a BARGAN!!! I would love to see you do more downloadable videos! even older series would be fantastic to have downloaded to my devices to watch when we are off grid!
As usually your filming and editing creativity is superb and one can tell you have been doing just that for a long time! As to the camel on the track - I think it would have been less stress for you and the animal if you would have stopped and waited for a few minutes. The camel would have left the track on its own accord shortly. Giving chase is indeed stress for the animal and dangerous for you and your vehicle since it could have fallen right in front of you and or kicked your vehicle! Animals small and large staying on a track or road is something one can observe on many occasions. Somehow the instinct to flee seems to be of more concern for them than to find a way off the less restrictive track. This is NOT a corrective criticism but rather a well meant comment to a situation I have observed on multiple occasions in many parts of the world.
canning is a vehicle breaker- i thought it was you andrew who alerted me to mercedes' attempt to cross it in gwagons in 2011- broke almost a dozen shocks as well as other bits like the wheel carriers
I am surprised you dont have wires going from your front guard to your roof rack to deflect the limps. It would be bad to have a broken windshield the whole way.
I love the ‘Friends’ theme being used in the series, perfectly executed chameleon branding. Andrew your content is spot on as well as your branding. P.S could you please do some content with a Series Land Rovers (just being selfish)
I remember lots of longer remote tracks in Sibiria and on the Island of Kamtschatka. But to be honest, the Canning Stock Route is due to the warmer whether the most beautifull one among the longest tracks in the world.
Just rented the series, hope this is a good little earner for you. Been looking forward to this. I was going to do the CSR but have opted for the Simpson desert this year. love the whingers about you, they make me laugh, ahh keyboard warriors.
On overgrown tracks like that ide like have 2 guys with limb cutting implements sitting in chairs attached to each corner of the bull bar. Cut that stuff back before it hits the vehicle, and clear track for everyone else.

I was curious to see how you find the mitsubishi range of vehicles now that a triton has done this trip with you but the Toyota has had some sort of issue before the Mitsubishi? I personally love the land rover and for the age of the vehicle and what it is capable of is amazing
How do you feel about the new Mahindra Karoo edition vehicles Andrew? Should I rather save up and get something better or are they worth a look? I am based in South Africa and we have a dealer close by so I saw some the other and they looked rather nice.
I see some equipment on the Range Rover what I'm concerned about yes ground clearance. If it can be the top end Toyota I will have to bow down.
