    A total fighting genius. He wasn't even a white belt in jiu jitsu. Just wrestling. For some reason his mind works with fluid thought, maybe not logic, and that's the cost of his genius.

    • @codekama7396
      @codekama7396 4 ปีที่แล้ว +40

      "fluid" and not logical, not in a disrespectful way (because of his many personal acts and so on), but because of his way of fighting. It flows when it does and it is not so much thinking about what to do. Natural talent. One per decade.

    as ex high school wrestler,i must say he had some great throws and take down technique. i liked that move when his opponent was walking up his body and he was able to reverse and flip him over by using the opponents arm. i really underestimated his wrestling

    • @heymelon
      @heymelon 9 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      You might call that move wrestling but it's more used in bjj, a lock called kimura that can be used in throws and sweeps. Mark Schultz got dq'd though by using this standing in a wrestling tournament I think.

    • @kallepikku4991
      @kallepikku4991 6 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      It's a Double Wrist Lock, every wrestlers knows/does it. With DWL the rule is, you're not allowed to bring the arm behind the back, otherwise totally fine. Of course with little modifications, it applies perfectly for submission wrestling as well.

    • @kallepikku4991
      @kallepikku4991 6 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      He started from wrestling and was NJCAA All-American, JUCO champion, amongst other championships. He wrestled some really tough world class competitors back in high school / collage. Are you surprised of his wrestling skills? Take a look at his early UFC fights where he simply rag dolls some of the more experienced MMA fighters with his wrestling.

      I think people forget he wasn't a striker. It's just being that tall gives you a striking advantage plus he has great wrestling.

    It's a quite a few big difference in why he defended better? Jones made much improvements to his skills since then and in the video he's not allowed to loosen his opponents up with his fist & elbows.

    anyone tell me if they disagree.... first MMA is one of the best sports out there and i am definitely a fanatic, so do not mistake this for hating.... Waqtching this video however shows that the talent pool in MMA is shallow ever... For example, Brock Lesnar won a title after particpating in the sport for under 2 years i believe. Jon Jones 3 years... YOu dont see this in bxing, not saying boxing's better at all just the sport isnt full developed yet.... I say this beacuse
