Even as a practiced home baker, Ann’s macaron recipe is the only one I’ve ever had success with. So glad Dave was able to make it work too!

When I was like 10 I found a recipe in my grandma's cookbook and everyone was like "no that's very difficult". I made them anyway and they were *perfect.* It was an absolute fluke and every other attempt failed. Maybe I could try her recipe and relive my childhood triumph!!!
He did such a good job! Did anyone else get nervous when they saw the egg yolks? Nice job on him for catching his mistake before it was too late. And he did surprisingly well on the folding for his first time!
Also on a side note it’s kinda cool that How to Cook That and Game Theory are both 10 years old and did a look back video. It’s interesting to see how far both have come!

Thing is, he did separate the eggs! He just mixed the yolks instead of the whites
@@Musicanimedork01 :) Yes I missed that the eggs were separated, until later in the video when they said the whites were still safe. As for who separated them, I suspect Ann or someone in their production staff did the separation :) he wasn't familiar with how much sugar was needed so I think he wasn't involved in the ingredients prep.

After all debunking experiments he tasted, Dave still made something edible for Ann 😂 so sweet 🤗
It really shows that five minute craft recipe is so bad that even a beginner like Dave can make it edible if he is using Ann's recipe.

Considering how many baking channels there are on youtube, and the fact that I don't bake much to begin with, the fact that I'm subscribed to you and watch your content says a lot.
I think the best part is your focus on accuracy and education. Not only are your regular baking videos very instructive, but your debunking videos are well researched and make very good points about safety when it comes to social media and viral content. I'm always impressed. Thank you for being you, and I hope to see many more from you!
PS. I just ordered your book. I may try a recipe or two, but since I don't have much room for baking right now, I'll probably gift it to my mom for mother's day. Maybe I'll have her watch a few of your videos as well!

The Minecraft village cake video was how my younglings and I discovered this channel. My daughter enjoys the debunking videos best. My favourite are the miniature baking videos. Congrats on 10 yrs Ann! 🎉

I got started with your debunking videos and now I’m hooked.
My favorite part was him trying to figure out how to get the whisk attachment off the mixer. I cackled. It's one of those things where I suddenly realize someone whose mom didn't bake with them as a kid wouldn't instinctively know how to do that... asked my dude if he would know how to get the whisk off the Kitchenaid and he gave a baffled shrug.
XD That moment felt so relatable. I swear the same thing would have happened to me.
I don't own one of those so I had no idea either. It was satisfying to see him figure it out though!
Once I was using my mom’s mixer and I didn’t see the release button for the whisks, so I just used brute force to rip them out 🤦♂️ It worked and didn’t damage the machine, but I felt foolish when she told me about the button afterwards.
I mean, some people also just don't own mixers, or own smaller hand mixers. I wouldn't know how to take one of those whisks off, and if you dared to even imply to my mother that she didn't bake with me as a child she'd be very upset with you.
