  • Improve your English vocabulary and listening in just six minutes! Can you imagine being left in a capsule orbiting the Moon all by yourself, while your team mates go walk on the surface and become the first two humans to do so in history? That's what happened to the late Michael Collins in 1969. Neil and Georgina talk about the Apollo 11 astronaut, and teach you related vocabulary.
    This week's question:
    The first animal that went into space was a Russian dog. It was 1957. What was the dog’s name?
    a) Irina
    b) Laika
    c) Anastasia
    Listen to the programme to find out the answer.

    Trailblazer is an interesting word. it sounds a bravery act, a heroic act. The first person who dared to do something . I have never given a chance to be a trailblazer; I suppose for being among the billions of insignificant ones on earth. They say be content what you are and you've
    got. I don't have anything and I was nothing and I am nothing, just daily bread chaser, to survive. Am I lazy no, am I half witted no, have I no ambition !

    • @bbclearningenglish
      @bbclearningenglish  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi engin. These videos might help you feel empowered. You shouldn't say you are 'nothing' because it is not true, even if you are not particularly ambitious.

    In my opinion if I was on the moon it would be boring to be there. Actually some people who are afraid of loneliness they would have a new phobia. I can call it like a cosmophobia. Moon have secrets. I am pretty much sure that one day people will visit moon. The moon doesn't have oxygen, it's impossible to live there. Some scientists said there was a water. Maybe one day it might be pleasant place to live
