There are so many "theatrical" people on TH-cam, which is okay if you enjoy that kind of delivery. I however prefer listening to someone who is more real and authentic. I grow my own plants to eat and for medicinal use and think that you never stop learning, so I listen to you chatting and teaching those of us who are eternal students. Learning about Bee Keeping is on my to do list. 🐝

Same to everything you said! I'm learning mushrooms because of her and signing up for beekeeping this year. I grow a pretty large garden myself as well and my own tea and medicine. I listen to alot of homesteaders, including Leadfarmer77 and Self Sufficient Me, and this channel with her mom is my number one of these top 3. I relate more with this lifestyle and her style.

Right?! There is something so raw, authentic, and loving coming from every one of these videos. I'm always eager to watch because I know it's going to be thought-full and heart-felt information, even if she's just sharing the experience of checking on her chickens, bees, pigs, etc.

I looked up this quote in the first minute of your video today. The reason why I looked it up, is because it sums you up really well.
I've been watching for a couple of months, to learn from you, and learn I have! The plan for this spring was made a year ago, to plant as many herbs and beneficial plants that I have to, to build my medicine cupboard. I already forage for a lot of things, but noticed that I am lacking in some areas, so I came here to find out what I need to plant to build up those areas.
I continue watching you - every single video you upload - because of the words in this quote. Have a blessed day Kaylee. In my mind, you are nothing short of amazing.

Omlord. I can’t believe that you are saying that you are not special.
You are doing such a great job teaching us how to use our herbs . Specially, for me,it’s only since last summer that I really started to collect herbs. Never put yourself down. It’s not the way to go. Look at yourself in the mirror, you are very very special. Don’t live no body tell you the opposite or believe the opposite. ❤❤

The fact that you are a homesteader first and share your life is why we watch. I have unsubscribed from some channels that I thought were going to have content I would enjoy. But, after a while, I realized they were just doing whatever they thought would get clicks. Your content is real. The apothecary has come so far! Watching the building and each addition has been enjoyable.

    • @earthzeroapothecary
      @earthzeroapothecary ปีที่แล้ว

That's so true!! I used to watch a Homesteading couple and had to stop following them because the husband posted more fear-based material than I could handle; even the titles were clickbait to get people to watch. The wife's videos were way more helpful, but I couldn't stand getting notifications and seeing they elicited fear, rather than teaching something worth knowing.

@@TheHoneystead I'll tell you, it's Doug and Stacy, unfortunately. I commented on a post because I thought he was spreading hate instead of offering helpful information and I was SHOCKED when he responded. He was swearing at me and telling me I must be okay with child pedophilia and I couldn't believe it. Just because I don't judge humans for having different ways of expressing themself (cross-dressing), that must mean I condone child pedophilia... I guess I expected better from them. I don't understand how people can claim to be religious and follow Christ, then do the exact opposite of something their Jesus would do. Hypocrisy at its finest.

@@earthzeroapothecary I’m so sorry you experienced that. I wrote this down this morning from a podcast I was listening to and maybe it will be helpful. “Magnify the problem solver, not the problem!” Then I wrote Focus on the goodness of God! It is not that we are ignoring the problem, it is just that we are trusting in God!

Just a note: each of Gods creatures are special and unique, and you Kaylee are no exception. Of all your videos I have seen my favorite tidbit was how to breathe on a bee to revive her when she had gotten too cold. This has worked for me several times. Also, you had a list of things a new beekeeper should do or consider. It was very helpful and encouraged me to get a good beesuit. (I had tried to scimp and made one myself. But, I took your advice and that very week I went to check on my bees and both hives had dumped upside down during a storm. The "good" beesuit was a life saver. Thanks. Jaime B.

You are doing what you love. Most folk are doing something that they are ambivilent about or that they really hate because that's all they know. You are showing people that you really can do something that you love to do, that feeds your soul, that helps others. It gives us hope. People are drawn to that because its like a beacon in the darkness. Keep up the good work.

I had health issues several years ago and I had to change my eating habits. I am doing great now. Better at 63 than I was at 43. I have dabbled in medicinal herbs all my life but am now taking it more seriously. I am building a mini apothecary. I also have several different herbs that I am growing and will add some in the spring. I am going to go through my seeds and maybe start some. We have a short growing season.

I have a few tinctures that I have made so far and I get nervous to use them...I feel like I may have done something wrong and make myself and my family sick. I have used essential oils for many years but feel the herbs could be just as good or better. I guess I lack confidence.

I love the laid back and honest style of your videos. Currently doing a course in Herbal Product Manufacturing ( Australia) . Late starter as I am a retired biochemist and have been doing some minor products for a local herbal/natural centre for a few years but my previous fields ( water and food) are a little different to herbalism. Some commonalities in the lab and biochemistry skill sets are handy.
BTW, hobby beekeeper too last 5 years, only 5 hives but that's all I want to manage with the food garden and animals.
I love the wild foraging books that the US has and our indigenous herbs are being catalogued and seriously researched.James Green's book is also a favourite here too.
For fellow Aussies can I recommend anything by the local master herbalist Isabell Shippard. Sadly no longer with us but excellent reference material in all her works on herbs is a life long legacy of her experience and knowledge.

I appreciate your logical and scientific approach and the fact that you acknowledge how many other factors, like diet and stress, can influence your mind and body. Herbal medicine is just part of the picture but what a fun picture! Thanks for sharing your apothecary with us, looking forward to seeing more of your videos.

Thanks so much for your great introduction! I was wondering if you can suggest a plant app for foraging that would be good with your suggestions of field guide books?

I found you from Becky at Acre Homestead. She's mentioned you a few times so I finally came over to say hi. And I must say, I already love your channel!! I started herbalism a few months ago and loving it as well as looking to have bees because the world needs to protect them more. You now have another subscriber

I consider my self a kitchen witch. I em to have a lot of instinctual or ancestral knowledge as to how alot of herbs and medicines work. I have had a lot of ppl tell me they felt better after eating something I hav cooked or a tea I've thrown together. I haven't done any formal Stuy or anything, but since following you I have received a lot of affirmation that my instincts are correct. Thank you for being you, and for the info you share. You are loved and appreciated

I watched a video of yours not that long ago where you spoke of cleavers. OMG out of no where a couple of years ago it appeared in my flowerbeds. Couldn’t figure out what it was much less that it was medicinal. I cannot say thank you enough for sharing your experience and bringing us along on your foraging trips. Would have kept ripping it out and tossing it otherwise. God Bless.

After watching the episode on cleavers I remembered feeling bummed because I haven’t seen cleavers since I was a kid. It was a few days later that I found a clump growing in my flower bed. Swear it was magic.

I absolutely adore you and your momma. And I thank you both for sharing your knowledge with all of us. We are blessed by each of your videos. I have a question and thought you’d be the best source. I want to make a multivitamin using plant matter. I have researched and researched and have read that alcohol will extract the vitamins and minerals and then read that vitamins and minerals cannot be extracted using alcohol. Much love and blessings to you and yours.

Hey there, I absolutely love your channel. Such useful information and I'm learning so much. I just wanted to ask what the ratio should be with a cayenne pepper tincture? I've been researching it and I am getting mixed information so I thought I would ask you both since I trust your knowledge and experience. Thanks in advance.
