Lionel outlined all the reasons for voting for Donald Trump, but still couldn't actually say it. Perhaps, as a very intelligent political analysis, she just needs to look behind the Democratic propaganda. I hope she watched the Joe Rogan podcast, Trump is not perfect, far from it, but I do think his heart is in the right place - for the American people 😀. Obviously, once he is inaugerated, we will see how things turn out, may you live in "interesting times" - we are certainly in for an interesting 4 years (one thing is clear though, the Republicans have a very strong bench which bodes well) 😂.
For me the gamechanger was Trumps Team. Having so many people I respect join him is exciting. I could see JD or Tulsi as president in waiting. Vivek, Kennedy, Musk, Rogan. Cant wait to see what they achieve together.
Isn't it ironic that the Dems obsession with destroying Trump drove the best talent toward him. Shows how bad Dems are right now. I would like to see Vance/Tulsi 2028. Tulsi would cement the Dem voters who switched to Rep this cycle....Tulsi/X for 2032.
Both parties need to do this we seem to get into this situation where a couple of septuagenarians are battling each other, so all power to developing younger talent. Biggest failure of this last election cycle was Biden not giving up the reins. The Democrats are paying dearly for it now.
Watching this in Sydney, Australia. It was so disturbing to watch the responses of journalists here, especially from our ABC, as the election results came out. The hatred of Trump was palpable. In the end, I had to conclude no conscious thought had been given about either candidate, just raw hatred and fear of Trump. I felt, like Lionel Shriver, an emotional relief at the decisiveness of the outcome. Real, and clear.
I stopped watching the ABC and legacy media a while ago. Thank goodness for X. I’m horrified about the misinformation bill and how it will kill free speech here.
I don't like Kamala - she was a bad candidate - but there is a simple reason people/media say bad, even hateful, stuff about Trump. And that is because the bad/hateful stuff he has said publicly and "privately" on many occasions is simply not the behaviour of a president. No previous (Republican) president would have said or tolerated the hateful, obscene, stuff he comes out with!
I agree. I live in Denmark, and we have the lowest support for Trump in Europe. Our media are openly and proudly biased on this. No one ever mentioned the covert censorship and the (open and happy) calls for censorship. No one mentioned Identity Politics. The Danish Media has a reckoning coming too. They will relearn real journalism or perish.
Starmer got in here because he wasn't the Tories and he avoided saying what he was going to do in power (we now know what that is!). KH tried the same tactic in the US election and it backfired.
The problem was the whole of Kamala's campaigning was just "me good, him bad", rather than standing up and saying, "look we screwed up the economy for the last four years, now here is how im going to fix it"
I think the economy is where it is because of the UN's promotion of its ludicrous "lockdown and masking" advocacy, and the fortune spent on the gene therapy jabs. Obama started this with the massive printing of bank notes in 2009. Neither Trump or Biden had the ability (or incentives) to grasp the nettle instead of spending next year's income today. My eyes are on Milei, and I am anxious the survival of the West is reliant on Musk, Trump to rein in the massive debt that is currently being paid back using inflation to rob the economy of its future earnings before they've been warned.
It was worse, she said she would fix the problems, on day one, that she had been a part of for the prior 1400 days and tried to gaslight everyone into believing they weren't even problems in the first place. I find it hard to believe Democrats actually thought she was legitimate, if they did.. they are completely lost.
Harris was not only not a very impressive person, but she was afraid to tell the people about her far left beliefs. I'm not sure the voters were fully aware of her far left beliefs, but they did notice that she refused to answer question in the rare instances she was pressed.
@@SimonPJohnson You have made a statement without a shred of evidence to support. What far left tenants do you ascribe to President Trump. And we was president for 4 years. If you listen to the interviews during the campaign, Harris did not state clearly what her policies were. And commonly in her interviews avoided actually answering questions.
@dennisweidner288 What a strange thing to say about Trump. Neither side has any policies. Some people cared, most didn't. Harris couldn't get her own base to turn out. He is definitely unpredictable in the foreign policy realm, which is a very good thing. Note how many conciliatory messages our enemies issued after his victory. Yes please throw out identity politics! It's not real human rights activism. Let's go back to MLK and some of his statements if need be.
Lionel Shriver is a woman who changed her name to "Lionel". But sure, she hates identity politics... let that sink in.
For me the gamechanger was Trumps Team. Having so many people I respect join him is exciting. I could see JD or Tulsi as president in waiting. Vivek, Kennedy, Musk, Rogan. Cant wait to see what they achieve together.
Elon for Department of Labour!

Same.

The problem was the whole of Kamala's campaigning was just "me good, him bad", rather than standing up and saying, "look we screwed up the economy for the last four years, now here is how im going to fix it"
absolutely
Yes, it was analogous to 'Project Fear' in the Brexit referendum.
But in fact the economy is doing fine.
First time hearing Shriver. What a breath of fresh air in political discourse. More of her, please.
Have you read her books? She is an excellent author.
Harris was not only not a very impressive person, but she was afraid to tell the people about her far left beliefs. I'm not sure the voters were fully aware of her far left beliefs, but they did notice that she refused to answer question in the rare instances she was pressed.
Far left beliefs as in slightly to the left of Trump’s…
@@SimonPJohnson You have made a statement without a shred of evidence to support. What far left tenants do you ascribe to President Trump. And we was president for 4 years. What far left policies did he pursue? Trump like all of us has weaknesses. But one of them was not deception. He stated his policies openly.
1. Reduce the government regulatory burden
2. Set the energy industry free
3. Reduce taxes and preventing taxing unrealized gains
4. Recreate a southern border
5. End the campaign against law enforcement
6. End the insanity of allowing boys to compete in girls' sports

9. Expanding the use of tariffs.
10. Ending he politicization of he justice system and he prosecution of political opponents
11. Prioritizing he military.
12. Protecting the Supreme Court and the Senate veto.
13. Opposing amnesty for illegal aliens.

I wouldn't bet on it. Winston Peters was defending Trump's victory (his third Presidential win - the second was, of course, stolen, as we all know) against the Greens today in the House.
