You guys! I also do love all these Norwegians. Lived there for 7 years, they have so many great singers to offer. And everything else too of course. Emilie Nicolas is making me feel fine as well. And I really need to heal. Thank you again guys, you are always the best 👍
She is so much more. If you check out her release party video for her last album, Let Her Breathe, there are 5 great songs on that video. Outro, only 1.5 minutes long, and Tsunami are two fantastic tunes she is starting off with around 2 minutes into the video. Sooo beautiful!! You could put them together in one reaction.
@@JohanHovda Naive is very nice but a little in the same track as Feel Fine. Tsunami is more upbeat, light and joyful imo. And when she ends it with the last 8 bar or maybe it was a 16 bar ending, singing the highnotes, it gives goosebumps deluxe!!
Have you guys heard something from Unnni Willelmsen? She have alot of really good songs ,she started to wrote lyrics and play in early 90ts and are still here
Her last name is pronounced “Nee-co-lah” (her father is French). 😊 Wonderful song, although for once I agree with our friend Jim. Anyway, thank you for your reaction. Oh Love, Tsunami, and Who’s Gonna Love You are all good ones for the list.
She was a featured artist on The Royal Alber Hall site with a "home" recording about 31 minutes long. The entire concert is amazing, but if you skip to the song Oh Love (th-cam.com/video/Ix1Ubrpewxc/w-d-xo.html) you'll be blown away. The whole concert is at th-cam.com/video/Ix1Ubrpewxc/w-d-xo.html
You should listen to Askjel's Song " I have seen the apocalypse and I want to go home" ! Emilie Nicolas sings on it ! She doesn't have a live version on youtube (that I've found!) But its her on the music video! Iris sings on one of the live performances and Highasakite do a version.... But the official Video is the best with Emilie singing and it is an amazing song but with a crazy arse title and an unusual video but thought provoking! Askjel is an amazing writer & producer! And works with Aurora, Iris, Sigrid and several others !
I was about to post a comment saying I prefer the studio version due to the ending, but this live version actually managed to capture it quite well, and in those instances live is of course best. You should try another song by her as well, "Oh love".
I always love your reactions. You seem like such a nice and adorable couple....cant help but smile when you look at each other during the reactions. 😊 You should react to her song «Oh love». She is so amazing live.
You got some great choices lately. I concur! This is a live Sofar Sound concert in Oslo, where artists have a popupconcert somewhere random for a few invited. I think usually around 20 in the audience. I would love to see you check out more of Emilie. Her album Tranquille Emile is my favorite. I love the MV for Wild One, and the lyric video (video is still great!) Higher Love. Future is also one of my favorite songs that I listen to a lot. And also Melancholia (that is a def headphonesong like most hers are) and Grown up (video is so cute/cozy). I think that order would be good to. Her newer album Im not as familiar with, but I like Whos gonna love you, and If I Call, so far. :)
As a norwegian I should recommend another Norwegian artist, but I can see that you have a basket full of Angelina, Aurora Suzanne, Ane etc. so I will suggest that you react to an american group called Lake Street Dive. They have a fenomenal female vocalist (Rachael) and female bass player - making groovy music with roots into blues, soul , Motown etc. - turning them into contemporay songs. Even though some of the songs are emotional - they always give you feelgood vibes. And the song I recommend for you is RICH GIRL (based on Hall and Oates original).
Since you have been reacting to so many Norwegian female artists, how about a male? I suggest listening to Sivert Høyem solo or with his former band Madrugada. Here is one solo th-cam.com/video/c-0jy3iCB8U/w-d-xo.html or this one with Madrugada and your old friend Ane Brun th-cam.com/video/vfNXrvYuqKY/w-d-xo.html
If you want to go on a new norwegian adventure, check out "Kaizers Orchestra - Kontroll på kontinentet Live @ Vega". Its an alternative rock band from Norway. I can guarantee that you have not heard anything like it.
Since your doing alot of Norwegian reactions... i hope you will try Leprous-castaway Angels, i know you will love his voice and the build up( progressive) is equal, its something that should be experienced.
Leprous is such a deep rabitt hole you will never want to get out of. Enar Solberg with his fantastic voice and Baard Kolstad who is a one of a kind drummer. And the rest of the band are phenomenal musicians. They are, if possible, better live than in studio.
Oh please..... my thougts exactly, do Castaway Angels, then Sleepwalking man with Sivert Høyem, and maybe Brother with Morten Harket. To name a few, and well... ok, I`ll leave it at that for the time beeing 😊
Bit of a different suggestion here: Sanguinem (i think thats the spelling) by Mephorash. Its best to actually listen to the entire album in one go but this is a great start. Its haunting, dark, evil, heavy, and it puts you right there in the story (even more so if you can understand Swedish but the song itself paints enough of a picture anyway). Definitely not for everyone though. I suggest either the music video (link: th-cam.com/video/Nq_reKGpgoM/w-d-xo.html ) Or a live performance (this is the best I've come across: th-cam.com/video/BMdeaTu2Ozs/w-d-xo.html ) Edit: i was mistaken that song being in Swedish, its actually in english AND swedish but more English.
I have recently discovered you channel and I really love watching your reaction to music. You both seem to have a huge love for music just like I. I also like the diversity of songs you react to. I know you have already reacted to a lot of Norwegian artists/bands but I want to share a few more with you. I share this list with some of my favorite TH-cam reactors and some vocal coaches too. Personally, I love music of many genres but I want to listen to music that moves me in some way, either make me feel happy and want to dance or just in aww of the beauty of the song. And we do have a lot of wonderful and talented young artists here in Norway like Aurora, Emilie Nicolas, Sigrid and many, many more. But I want to share some of our talented artists that has been in the music business for a long time, and here are some of my favorites. I have picked artists who do have many songs in English or only sing in English. We also have many talents who only sing in Norwegian too, but I have not added them to this list. I will start with Sissel Kyrkjebø, she is a Norwegian soprano singer with an angelic voice. She has been blessing our ears with songs here in Norway since the early 1980’s. I know you have reacted to her before but that song really didn't showcase her beautiful voice in it's full potential. She is a diverse singer who will try different genres but her voice shines the most in classical and slow songs. Here are some of the few favorites of mine. Sissel Kyrkjebø with “Pie Jesu» live at Oslo Spektrum in 2002 1. th-cam.com/video/otHPPBVtjJg/w-d-xo.html Sissel Kyrkjebø with «Your Raise Me Up” from a Norwegian TV concert in 2020 2. th-cam.com/video/nOZKuRRnrg8/w-d-xo.html Another artist is Jarle Bernhoft. He started his career as a singer and guitarist in a rock band called Span, but he has been a solo artist since 2008. His solo music is more pop, blues and soul inspired. He sometimes tour as a one man band where he uses loop pedals to create the sound of a full band. He also tour with the band Bernhoft and the Fashion Bruises. I like both settings with and without a band on stage with him. The band did however get together again in 2018 for a few live shows. One of their biggest hits is a duet with another amazing singer, Ane Brun (whom I've seen you already love). Madrugada featuring Ane Brun on vocals with the song "Lift Me" back in 2005 1. th-cam.com/video/UzxPq0eOjnk/w-d-xo.html Sivert Høyem with "Prisoner of the Road" live on SVT1 (Swedish TV channel) 2. th-cam.com/video/KTmVTiRnlFA/w-d-xo.html Sivert Høyem with the song "Majesty" live at Acropolis in Athens. This song is from the album "Grit" by the band Madrugada released in 2002. 3. th-cam.com/video/5P4n6wITFYo/w-d-xo.html Another favorite of mine is Thomas Dybdahl. He started his career as a guitarist in the jazz/pop inspired band called Quadraphonics. He decided to go solo and released his first EP in 2000. He is also the singer in the pop group The National Bank and he has made film music for several movies. I will describe his music as blues with influences from pop, soul and jazz. Thomas Dybdahl with "Love Is Here To Stay" live at St. Pancras Old Church in London, UK. This is an acoustic performance. 1. th-cam.com/video/FmstiBAgjVs/w-d-xo.html Thomas Dybdahl with the song "But We Did" Live from NRK Studio 1 in Norway. This is with a full band. 2. th-cam.com/video/P_sD5JK0d0Y/w-d-xo.html Unni Wilhelmsen is another hidden gem: She released her first album in 1996 called “To Whom it May Concern” where the first song I have chosen is from. She has said many times that one of her biggest inspiration in music is Joni Mitchell whom she also has been doing covers of. She has been releasing albums in both English and Norwegian. Sadly, there’s not very much good quality live recordings to find of her on TH-cam but I have found two of her biggest hits. Unni Wilhelmsen featuring Henning Kvitnes with the song "Won't Go Near You Again" 1. th-cam.com/video/QlcntQOzBzU/w-d-xo.html Unni Wilhelmsen with "Anything 'Bout June" live for Låtskriver'n (Radio Station) 2. th-cam.com/video/fawXyAHS99M/w-d-xo.html This is just a few of my favorite “older” Norwegian artists, there is many more I could include, and if I had chosen artist who just sing in Norwegian the list would have been even longer. I see you have already found two Norwgian artists who just sings in Norwegian. Kari Bremnes and also the band Wardruna who sings in a mix between old Norse and Nynorsk. I hope you will enjoy all these talented musicians.
