That episode just killed me so much and I have a feeling this season isn't going to ignore it. Of course Q and his question to penny will likely never be answered and we'll just have to live with that pain.

I just... miss Q. season 1 I wouldnt have been caught dead saying that but he was truly the heart of the show. That trailer didn't feel the same without him.

This is not a good thing. When shows start using a lot more money , they risk over shooting their returns, causing the show to be cancelled from expense. Or we might see cast culling for expenses.

Julia says in the trailer that they got magic back because they lost Q, not that Q is dead. The trailer has more references to Quinton than any of the other characters. Maybe it's false hope I don't think be is gone.

Speculation: Quentin will come back at the end of the season similar to how Julia came back at the end of Magician's Land. I'm mostly hoping there are references to the books as they have been flashing easter eggs in during s4 with the minor characters in some of the episodes.
Maybe it'll be better like when TVD got rid of Elena..
@@briredrose It wasn't better though? And only managed to last 2 seasons when she left. Season 7 was honestly interesting, I'll admit. But 8 was kinda lame. Especially the finale. I don't agree that it was better after she left. It was more like the show had a huge void left in her wake and couldn't completely fill it. The ratings tanked after season 6.
@@JalebJay Even though I cried that Q is die, I hope that they will not come back him to life. I think that they will use his story as they did with original Penny. At least I hope they will develop a storyline whit Q in the limb but not come him back.

well Penny is kinda off closed off to the rest of the group except for Q and his gf so :D maybe that's why he din't get the same goodbye.
@@firebender666 That was all a front tho, Penny was always the first one running to help, when something happened. He actually cared a lot. His actions were completely different from his words.

Goodbye Quentin. He struggled so hard in the beginning of his life and found magic and happiness even if it was spotty and inconsistent. He lived a full life with the persons he loved and had a kid. He made up with Alice, saved Eliot, and saved all of his friends. He found out his discipline finally proving that he didn't break everything around him. He was a fixer and he finally found that out. Q was brave and smart. And now he gets to move on and be with his dad, his child, and his wife who have all probably died in Fillory.
First there was no magic, then barely any magic, and now there’s too much god damn magic...they staying consistent that’s for sure
Yes they are did you not watch last season or any of it? Barely any magic cause it was controlled now there is no control so it is running loose. i.e. Control = Starvation. No control = overabundance

@@Delulu-To-Trululu Everett was trying to turn himself into a god, he took all the magic that the library had been hoarding and the magic reserved in the reservoir, and tried to take the magic from the Monster. Usually the Wellspring would flow magic, but it was all released at once.
Just a minor mending, caused too much magic. 😥 The only magic I care to see this season is Quentin’s return.

I recently discovered The Magicians during this quarantine and I binged s1-4 on Netflix!!! I need more in my life!!! Please don't end!!! This is one of my favorite new shows to watch!!!

I don't think they are bringing him back buddy. First of all that entire story line with him dying didn't even happen in the books.
And the entire season 4 finale gets undermined with him coming back to life. It was emotinal goodbye there is no point in bringing him back, his story arc is done.

It got some moments from the end of the book so yeah i think its the last season.
@@sebastianderdzinski8030 there were some moments from the last book in all seasons... They don't stick to the books so that's normal..
Things from book 3 that already happened: Quentin finding his discipline in Season 4, Asmodeus (Kady) trying to kill Reynard in Season 2, the reverse world of Fillory in Season 3, Janet's (Margo) trip in the desert and her finding two axes that make her more powerful in season 4, and probably more stuff. They don't do it in order, otherwise the series would've already ended.
They should treat it as the last season, no show tend to last longer than 5 seasons on Syfy sadly.

I referred the character not the actual actor. Is not the first time a character is played by different actor in different seasons
True, but Quentin was the main character until he died. The Magicians fans would riot at the audacity to replace him with someone else in what is more than likely going to be the last season. It was the most logical path to end him in the manner they did.
From a character stand point theres nothing left for him. His story was over by the end of the season. He confronted his trama, mended his relationship with Alice, and embraced his inner child.
If you didn't cry when they started singing, "Take on me," I am not sure I trust you.

@@JephMakeItStop Same. Whenever I saw him geeking out over Fillory, I thought I'd act exactly this way if I ever found out one of my favourite books were real.
If he ever does come back (which would be cool!) I don’t think it will be right away, otherwise it won’t have been as impactful.
But maybe at the end of season 6 he’ll show up again somehow very suddenly (cliffhanger style!) and season 7 would be about HOW and WHY he came back, except Q won’t know and they all have to figure it out together!
I am so glad they've made Season 5... I am 52 but LOVE this series lol... If we are lost in a delusion which is worse... Real life or Dreamworld its all about hello & goodbye as even mountains turn to sand eventually & gets blown away on cosmic winds like us all. Everything becomes stardust in the end...even the stars themselves!

I so wanted a Quentin / Elliot reunion and like Was hoping they would get a chance to finally be together or something. I wanted a scene where Margo tells Elliot that Q is dead sooooo bad just to see his reaction but alas we were denied that as well. Still really happy we have Elliot back love him.

The shows magic system is so good, but is so under used. It's frustrating having something always be wrong with magic to the point of it being either completely gone or having strict limitations. I want to see some god damn battle magic, is that so much to ask? We hardly see any after the first season...
This show is not about things going well.
This show is Murphy's law given a physical manifestation.
I think this one will have a lot more of it due to the fact there's no limitations on it now, and it in fact is spilling out everywhere. Also, I'd suppose the main purpose isn't the battles, but just the various ways they can mess with magic and how it changes everything between everyone.
I definitely agree though, I truly do want some epic, longer battle scenes involving magic. A lot of the battles so far have been rather short. A few moves in and it's already over and I feel like the excitement I had for something more is just... I don't know. But hopefully we'll get some good stuff this season. It looks pretty awesome.

Just finished binge watching The Magicians Season 4, I knew what was going to happen and I still cried. I cried so hard.

True. Even though there was agreement, to some extent or another, between Jason Ralph and the show runners about Q leaving, and even though now it isn't possible for me to hear "Take On Me" without heartache again, this does look phenomenal. I just really hope all those who have vowed to not watch it ever again come back to the fold. I have seen a lot of TV in my life and have never been this invested in a series. Q's death hurt so much, but there are many more tales to be told. People shouldn't turn their backs on it.
Q was the reason I watched it , I hope they bring him back in typical Magicians fashion.

I didn't really care much for Quentin at first but as the series went on the character developments he had felt really good and were well written imo, I will miss his character, but I think the others in the group care and miss him to much to just leave him dead, I have a feeling they will try to do something to bring him back... hell, they have the scroll to the old gods realm too... so many ways to bring him back, and with the ambient magic in the universe I can't imagine it'd be difficult to find the juice to do it anymore.

Im excited, but annoyed. Why is it when elliot finally realizes his feelings and/or potential between him and quentin; quentin had to die. Are you serious?! Literally, that's what I've been waiting for. U explored his raggedy relationship with allison why not with someone he actually had a healthy and successful relationship with already. There are only threes times they showed anything romantic or sexual between them. Literally in another lifetime they lived, that was his lifetime husband he grew old with and even then they had to add some type of woman with a child that we never see again. What the hell happened to quentin's descendants?! Does he not care where they at? Also, QUENTIN WANTED TO EXPLORE HAVING A RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM!!!! Seriously, seems like y'all don't want elliot happy at all. And nobody will even begin to understand the grief he's in, because all this happened without anyone seeing. 🙄😫😫😫 so help me im only continuing for margo and elliot

Usually goes up a few weeks before the next season starts on SyFy so it will be a while, but you can just watch it for free with their app or on their website as it airs I think.
This show deserves a full 7 season order.
It looks pretty good, but damn I miss Q so damn much. I really hope he comes back at some point. Even if it had to be through time travel or something. I don't care how they do it. I want him back on the show. Go to the after life next season on a quest to rescue his soul or some shit.

I for one can't wait, I never keep recordings of most shows, I kept the season finale of season 4. I love the scene where all the hedges are doing the spell together, gave me goosebumps, and of course the scene around the fire was amazing. Great writing!
